    I'm quite impressed with the massive size of that farm, how well planted the trees are and everything is so clean. Another thing is the light, none in a million years I would have expected that.

    I grew up eating dragon fruits and other exotic Asian types of fruits til I got sick of it hahaha.. i used to give my fruits to my friends at school and teachers because my family had our own dragon tree.. now i live in U.S I kinda miss the old days lol 😩..

    I had been eating dragon fruit quite regularly, and I must say the one with red color content is better than the one in white color, because it's sweeter

    • @daydreaming2113
      @daydreaming2113 5 років тому +5

      Myfate Trulygreat you must try the yellow one
      The seeds inside are much bigger, but so much more sweeter than the white and red

      My thoughts exactly. I love the red coloured fleshed one, it has an almost blackberry like taste

      @@daydreaming2113 I never knew there were yellow ones until I saw them this week at an Asian market. People who call them "mildly sweet" need to try them! It was almost like eating sugar with rich dragonfruit flavor.

    Wow, one of the most beautiful fruit in the world, both inside and outside! And so easy to pick! Perfect. I've never eaten one, so I don't know what it tastes like. I'm curious: does the fruit continue to ripen (like a banana), or does it stop ripening (like a strawberry) once picked?

    • @bonstermonster5260
      @bonstermonster5260 3 роки тому +5

      If you purchase them at a market, they are picked before they are ripe and will never gain the sweetness that you can obtain by growing your own and letting them ripen fully on the branches. Best picked and put in the fridge for several hours before eating them.

    2 years back I first came to know about this plant..i really wanted to grow it.. but i had no land..I live in the city Dhaka, Bangladesh.. so me and my mother first started a 30 ft 20 ft segment area of roof and planted dragon fruits in half of drum sized pots(4-6 plants in each)..it was not easy convincing my mother since she also had no idea on it..and she was planning for Extended Mango segment.. UA-cam sources remained the key information provider..n den the first challenge in getting the plants..n hell it wsn easy..cause its very new to my country ...so new that even today majority of ppl doesn know of this fruit here..its treated as a delicacy .. well main source of plant ws govt. agriculture wing followed by established commercial farmers(very few were there, and was not in city..actually cities apart)..however we got our first stock of plants cutting..8-10 inches each.. people laughed at us seeing planting so many cactus!!! they said cactus has thorns NOT fruits!!!we learned..we kept growing..by 12 months first flower came..on 1st week of march..we never saw a flower dat grows so big and beautiful.. me and my mother saw first hope dat day..from march to 2 week of novemeber .. we got our harvest.. we just loved the fruit..RED,WHITE,PINK all there..my mother is a doctor i am a engineer..but we have no agricultural background.. but we had enough knowledge to note our action plan for next harvest..every one found it huard to believe that we were growing that delicacy right on the roof ..which used to be a dry hot hursh concrete roof..by second year we have more actual experience and havin a chalked out action plan..we have more plants..more variety including yellow .. took care of parasite..neutrient and all aspect s.. this year we have on an avg. of 6 - 7 kg per week..sizing fro 400gm-630gm ..March to Oct so far.. the fruits..are so sweet..mushy,,juicy.. by age their quality has improved.. My mother reminds me how listening to me was the best decision ..
    Wole fruit n nothing but fruit..and harvest period is very long comparing to other fruiting plants like Mango,guava or fig!!very huardy plant..
