    Monument Valley is part of the Colorado Plateau located approximately 175 miles Northeast of Flagstaff Arizona on the Arizona and Utah Border. Your Monument valley adventure begins at the visitor’s center.
    There is parking for RVs and if boondocking is your style, dry no hook up overnight sites are available nearby.
    The panoramic view from the visitor’s center includes the famous Mitten and Merrick buttes.
    The unpaved loop road through the valley is 17 miles long and includes 11 numbered viewpoints. During our visit the road repairs were being performed causing a huge traffic jam, we turned around at viewpoint 2.
    It can take from 2 to 4 hours to complete the loop.
    The valley sandstone towers reach heights of 400 to 1,000 feet.
