Anyone to who's not a believer of The Lord Jesus Christ I think you should turn to Him before you die, or He comes back and al l you need to do is believe with your heart and confess with your mouth and repent of your sins John 3:16 for God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son that who so believe in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life I'm not forcing I just love you enough to tell you that. because as I'm writing this, I'm not doing my homework I want you to go to heaven not hell
NewtonTheNarwhal, #SELFIE: Lets make fun of the youth, without them realising cuz they're dumb Closer: Lets sell out with a bad song to appeal to the masses. Sick Boy: now's let's do a Katy Perry and do a 180, but go back to selling out, because we're not deep enough for this
Well the motion designs the actual impressive part of this. Not the basic video edit which is mainly just jump cuts. This is coming from an actual professional video editor
Trap Madness Hah right..... Before you judge someone, people pls look at his "overall" catalogue. Thank you. I go back to wiz khalifa just cause some of the music production he had was good. I ain't sayin that his lyrics are good but its better than this.
When ur sitting in class for 6 hours and singing this song in your head and you can't get enough of it so when you come home you listen to it on UA-cam

during my high school final exams i used to listen this song before going to examination hall and trust me i scored 98% marks just because of the motivation i used to feel after hearing this song. silly but true.
This song is far more complex than some will give it credit for, stands for us as a whole. If you're a little different than everyone, you're sick. Put a meaning like that on a badass combative type sound, and you've got gold. Good show, boys
I think it’s about narcissism, as the word is mentioned multiple times. “They call me a sick boy” could be a reference to a narcissist gaslighting them, trying to make them question their sanity and turn to the abuser for advice. That’s just what I think tho

As a Twenty One Pilots fan, I can see why people say it's similar to their style, but that doesn't mean The Chainsmokers copied them. This is a great song, stop making a scandal and comparing and just enjoy the song.
I think this song is about the fact that self-esteem and character are things more important than fame and money. I also think that The Chainsmokers wanted to express through their amazing and meaningful lyrics the fact that the value of a person is not measured in likes or good feedbacks from others.Character is more important than fame. Fame brings you money but you can't buy character with money. Character makes the difference between the true valuable people and cheap ones. There will always be people who will like you for your true self. In addition, stay authentic because fame is something temporary. True fans will always stay with you while the fake ones will leave you as soon as you stop pleasing them. I'm a Chainsmokers fan until the end no matter what. ALL MY LOVE AND RESPECT TO THE CHAINSMOKERS AND THEIR FANS.
@@Hyperdozy Thanks for your appreciation.I don't intend to become famous.I just want to motivate people to be more confident in themselves.I have been a person with lack of self-confidence all my life and and now I found the power to be myself.I don't rely on bad opinions from other people about me any more and I'm happier.I didn't explain the song at all.I just fond the meaning in a Chainsmokers' interview and put it here. And I don't care if my comment is underrated :))).I'm so content with who I am now that I don't want to be worried about notoriety.I hope you feel the same.

honestly people don't appreciate the editing since they don't know how hard it is to edit. it's so sad that people don't understand how well it fits with the song as well..
kinda funny, how everyone made fun of them by saying they were repetitive, and all their songs sound the same, but the moment they try to break the mould, people accuse them copying
I still love this song to this day from when it came out 4 years ago can't believe this song is 4 years old already wow I remember when it first came out I was a freshman in high school and now 4 years later I am done with high school it's crazy how fast time flies.

I'm from the East side of America
Where we choose pride over character
And we can pick sides but this is us, this is us, this is
I live on the West side of America
Where they spin lies into fairy dust
And we can pick sides, but this is us, this is us, this is
[Pre-Chorus]
And don't believe the narcissism
When everyone projects
And expects you to listen to 'em
Make no mistake, I live in a prison
That I build myself, it is my religion
And they say that I am the sick boy
Easy to say, when you don't take the risk, boy
Welcome to the narcissism
We're united under our indifference
[Chorus]
And I'm from the East side of America
Where we desensitize by hysteria
And we can pick sides, but this is us, this is us, this is
I live on the West side of America
Where they spin lies into fairy dust
And we can pick sides, but this is us, this is us, this is
[Post-Chorus]
I am, I am, I am the sick boy
I am, I am, I am the sick boy
They say that I am the sick boy
They say that I am the sick boy
And they call me the sick boy
[Chorus]
And don't believe the narcissism
When everyone projects
And expects you to listen to 'em

They went from "Lemme take a selfie" to this
Ben Whitty yep
Lemme take a selfie: absolute trash. Closer: alright, but not the best. Sick Boy: actual great song.
NewtonTheNarwhal, #SELFIE: Lets make fun of the youth, without them realising cuz they're dumb
Closer: Lets sell out with a bad song to appeal to the masses.
Sick Boy: now's let's do a Katy Perry and do a 180, but go back to selling out, because we're not deep enough for this

I think it’s about narcissism, as the word is mentioned multiple times. “They call me a sick boy” could be a reference to a narcissist gaslighting them, trying to make them question their sanity and turn to the abuser for advice. That’s just what I think tho

well said bruh

Lyric
[Verse 1]
I'm from the east side of America
Where we choose pride over character
And we can pick sides, but this is us, this is us, this is
I live on the west side of America
Where they spin lies into fairy dust
And we can pick sides, but this is us, this is us, this is
[Refrain]
And don't believe the narcissism
When everyone projects and expects you to listen to 'em
Make no mistake, I live in a prison
That I built myself, it is my religion
And they say that I am the sick boy
Easy to say when you don't take the risk, boy
Welcome to the narcissism
Yeah, we're united under our indifference
[Verse 2]
And I'm from the east side of America
Where we desensitize by hysteria
And we can pick sides, but this is us, this is us, this is
I live on the west side of America
Where they spin lies into fairy dust
And we can pick sides, but this is us, this is us, this is
[Chorus]
I am the, I am the, I am the sick boy
I am the, I am the, I am the sick boy
(I'm from the east side of America)
They say that I am the sick boy
(I live on the west side of America)
And they call me the sick boy
[Refrain]
Don't believe the narcissism
When everyone projects and expects you to listen to 'em

This godlike editing gets too little attention here...
Yeah
honestly people don't appreciate the editing since they don't know how hard it is to edit. it's so sad that people don't understand how well it fits with the song as well..
Yeeeeaaaaaah
kinda funny, how everyone made fun of them by saying they were repetitive, and all their songs sound the same, but the moment they try to break the mould, people accuse them copying
