I lived in Italy for many years now and I can confidently say that i never loved any man in my life as much as I love Italy! I am in love with it up to the mood and back! Hello from Tuscany! 🥰💕
Dear Ken, nice to see you again here my friend. Lots to discover...Sperlonga is rather renown, but so many unknown towns ...slowly slowly I'll walk more I guess
I will never get enough of these Italy amazing towns and cities. I think the nature of these places makes them stunning the way the citizens maintain them, they are homogeneous people. They are like family and keep the towns and cities that way. Thanks again for a great job, we appreciate it very much.
Glad you like them Esther, indeed... smaller towns, especialy tiny towns, are my favourite as well, for the reasons you mention also. Cozyness, and that atmosphere of "family gatherings" in the care of the place which are absent mostly in bigger cities unfortunately. Glad you enjoy the videos, and I hope to show always more. I try to uplload at least twice a week by now. Sperlonga is famous, but I'll show even less known towns for sure. Wish you a nice Sunday!
@@estherkisob9919 Thank you Dear Esther. Next video Tuesday will be of a town near Sperlonga... named Terracina... Sea-town.. not as famous, but worth a visit nonetheless.. I hope you'll enjoy it the same!
Thank you Riccardo another beautiful walk. Beautifully filmed and fascinating history very well researched.. It's a case of if walls could talk what tales they could tell ..... wandering around the little narrow alleyways seeing the legacy of times past .... little houses packed together whispers of memories of lives past of hardship... poverty joy and tragedy.... And times of fear being conquered many times down the centuries. Ciao Riccardo
Ciao Cynthia! Thank you so much for this, and glad you enjoyed Sperlonga in this new version) Indeed... lots of history and I was glad not many people around even if it was filmed on a Sunday evening... one can appreciate more the reality of the location. A big Ciao from Rome ! Ric

Glad you liked it Cynthia! I'll improve a bit in the future (maybe I'll put a tripod on it for stable 10 minutes). The ambient sounds there in Sperlonga were so magical...I had that idea just there and then. That sound of the metal hitting the pole in the port...very moody! Salute ti UK!
A lovely video - thank you - but where are the seagulls ??? I love the ancient houses, the narrow alleys, the beautiful arched doorways, the paved streets, the honey colored stonework. These old Italian towns are a delight !
Glad you enjoyed it dear Veronica - Sperlonga is definitely one of my MOST favourite towns ever... This is the second film I made there - as this channel basically started with a video of Sperlonga years ago... I wanted to see it again and was gald I did. Seagulls were rather rare that day indeed) Anyway,... Spectacular location... one of the best town one can visit from Rome as it's quite close. Stunning stunning town
You're helping me lose weight, you know. When I go home tonight I will listen to my Latin workout music while watching your video at the same time. I do this almost every night re-watching Italy walking tour videos and plugging into my aerobic music. Grazie mille, Riccardo! I am now a Patron.
Dear Haupia, GRAZIE so much for the Patreon! And glad the videos can be used also in that way, thought about that some months ago... nice idea in fact. Did you like the ending with the ambient sounds only?
Haha this is going to do the opposite for me. I'm listening to the album Romantic Callas with classic Italian operatic favorites and wondering what the pizza tastes like in this incredible little town! :P
@@StillWanderer I FINALLY got to listen to the entire video, and yes, I did enjoy the natural sounds at the end. Thank you for not speaking like those that need to explain everyplace that's shown, and for not suddenly turning the camera left or right. I don't remember who does it but they slowly focus ahead and keep walking then suddenly dart the camera to the left or right when they notice something in those directions. Your videos are nice and smooth and I love hearing people talking as they pass you by. As for the location, Sperlonga, I would just love to stay there and get lost. It reminds me of Santorini (although I've never been there) with the white buildings and blue doors. Also reminds me of San Marino and the historic La Pigna with the almost tunnel-like walkways. Sadly, I only get three weeks of vacation per year so that doesn't give me time to stay in Italy as long as I want to. Keep up the awesome work - I look forward to the next one, and next one, etc.

Indeed, it's so different from Rome and yet so close that it's almost astonishing to think... Just 1 hour drive from there so... Very peculiar and cosy town for sure Sperlonga and very dear to me as well for a variety of reasons...I was thinking to go there maybe at dusk or during a night walk too... maybe soon... we'll see... Seriously Riccardo thank you for bringing Italy to us landlocked Americans. Fabulous vlog my friend 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Dear Lawsonartzy, thank you so much as always, it's always such a pleasure reading your comments and knowing you liked the videos! Sperlonga has a soft spot in my heart for some old reasons, and it was even the first video ever uploaded. I am even planning maybe to walk by night there one day, during august. I always go back to it and to nearby towns with the greatest pleasure, as I love that area. Maybe one day I'll even venture out to the island of Ponza, it would be a dream indeed! Wish you a nice week ahead!
Another wonderful and truly amazing tour: the spectacular views of the sea, the splashes of vibrant colour of the bougainvillea and the beautiful houses with the decorative painted tiles. I really love the artistic flair of the house adorned with pebbles, shells and creative flower pots. Interesting story about the Princess Julia and her escape from the pirates. Really soothing sounds at the end of the video. 💕
Always happy to read you enjoyed it Dear Lang, very special to me Sperlonga, always go there with the greatest pleasure. Glad you liked the new idea of the ambient sounds, made possible by the new sound recorder. I still have older videos to upload, but the newer ones I will try to make them like this, at least 10 minutes just ambient sounds in the end of each town. Maybe in the end... I could even make some kind of single videos named "ambient sounds of italian towns" I was thinking!
@@StillWanderer Yes that would truly be an immersive experience. Sometimes I would listen to ambient sounds of the rain, thunderstorm or a carriage ride accompanied by rainfall. It kind of relaxes me and I am overcome by a sense of calmness. Great destressor of sorts!

One of your best videos ever. The camera movements were just like following your eyes : Perfect. Sperlonga becomes my favorite Italian small coastal city favorite. It is just magical for me for two reasons: 1. I love the way they decorate the facade and the way of their houses with flowers, paintings, shells etc. 2. They have "real" beaches with sand, waves and the lovely sound of the sea. To me, Sperlonga is even better than Positano. It is a place I would love to live. Congrats for the excellent video.
Dear Ivan, thank you so much... slowly slowly I am trying to improve on many little things, details etc. I am glad the newer videos can be appreciated. As you can see, I also try to capture the "nature ambient sounnds" of these italian towns at the end, mostly 10 minutes, it's a new experiment, made possible by a new binaural external mic which is quite powerful... And I agree on Sperlonga... It's a very special town for me for some personal reasons that date back to 2018... I love it much more than Positano myself...Maybe I will make a night walk there soon
This is a beautiful town, albeit one of the more touristy places. But the old town especially is beautiful. Love the mural, lucky that Princess Giulia escaped 😊 Also love the house where the owner decorated the wall with pebbles and shells. Bellissima!
Dear Geraldine, glad you liked this "new version" of Sperlonga) Indeed, a more touristic one for sure, but it's crazy to think it's just 1 hour drive from Rome.. another world there indeed. Agreed about that house and the view, stunning! It's quite expensive now there to buy a house. Just 40 years ago they were so cheap...!
@@StillWanderer yes, I would imagine that the house prices in Sperlonga would be expensive, I thought so by seeing how many boats there are in the marina.

Thank you so much Iori! It's been almost 2 years I've been walking around in this channel. The original idea was to show unusual or atypical italian towns (most of them quite unknown to tourists) but of course also famous ones like Sperlonga. Thank you for the Sub!
You really need to think about how old the town is and wonder how it used to be, living there back in the ages, with no electricity or whatever. So fascinating.
Indeed Black Rain... agreed. I try to show mainly (though not only) the "forgotten" towns of Italy...the ones a little bit off the beaten tracks. Some of those towns are quite impressive in their history and architecture. Glad they can be appreciated. Wish you a nice weekend
Glad you enjoyed it Aidan... It really depends... Sperlonga is in a way a bit...more unique , much much smaller. A very beautiful town. Gaeta is indeed a bigger town and offers much more. Though I would prefer Sperlonga to my taste...very very beautiful
Ahhh Hugo... Sperlonga is one of my top 5 towns I've EVER visited in this channel... it's just breathtaking... lucky you to go there...Stunning stunning town - if you can visit also Itri nearby and of course Gaeta - Manarola also not too far... you can check them when I walked there - beautiful towns too

Indeed... not many people that day, it was the Sunday the italian football team played the final against England, so.... maybe that was the reason. Just a few hours earlier)
Charming it is, though it does not have a strong hierarchic organization of spaces imposed on it, as one would find in many Italian towns and cities. Rome and Florence being the primary Baroque and Renaissance models, with their urban axial sequences. Sperlonga shows an organic evolution of connected inner and outer spaces, the entirety ultimately determined by the site's topography.
Completely agree Noe, it's truly a maze of alleys and rocks... it's truly a charming town.. my first ever video was there, it's not too far from where I live. I hope to make a night walk soon... maybe during a weekend day of course, with some people around
Hi Alphabet, unfortunately, yeah, it is quite far...:/ The train station is in Fondi/Sperlonga... you need then a taxi or a bus from there. But if you manage it, you'll find one of the most beautiful town of Italy ever... and amazing beaches
Hi Sadia, one can park the car quite near from where I started filming in fact, so basically very very near to the centre. There are outside locations as well as an inside parking under the town
@@StillWanderer ,No I am actually asking about foot steps because my husband has backbone problem so he cannot climb or walk a long upward hill/mountain by foot ..
@@sadiaesha6512 I see Sadia. It's possible to visit Sperlonga from the very top of the town though, the narrow alleys go very steeply down after some times. Glad you like this new Sperlonga film Dear Sudip and also the intro. Also very happy you enjoy the new idea about the ambient sounds in the end... this was the frst attempt, even though videos that will be uploaded in the near future won't have them, as they were filmed 1 month or more ago... but future ones I hope to include this... maybe even do a single Rome video about this ambient sound more or less around the city... would be a good idea!
Absolutely beautiful 😍. Thank you for those ambient sounds.
I think I'm in love with this city and wish I was actually walking around with you
Hi Jessica, nice to see you again)Glad you enjoyed the new "10 minutes ambient sound"... new idea! Glad you enjoyed also Sperlonga. Special place in my heart for many reasons
@@StillWanderer 💜
😇
As always beautifil tours, thanks!!
Dear Sam, Thank you so much!
Siempre me sorprende Sperlonga.
Amazing sea so wonderfully captured , indeed a unique town, so high walls and so narrow streets , what an amazing town planning . Drone is showing this town wonderfully . Very interesting . You are doing wonders . Best wishes .
My dear Rajyashree, happy to see you again my friend and glad you liked this new version of Sperlonga.. did you like the new idea of *10 minutes of ambient sounds* at the end? Using a new sound recorder to capture the towns even this way now...it's a little experiment I hope it's liked!
@@StillWanderer Yes indeed , the ambient sound recording is wonderful I really enjoyed it . 👌👌👍👍.
@@rajyashreeyadav68 Glad you did ! I'm experimenting a bit... I hope to improve on that, maybe set the camera on a tripod or somehting. Will see)
Such beauty! I love the purple flowers! What are they called? Love the sight and sound s of the ocean. Beautiful drone footage too! Thank you friend! Can't wait to get there for a vacation...
Thank you dear Tracy and happy you enjoyed it! I tried experimenting a bit with this new feature of "10 minutes ambient sounds" at the end of the walk... glad you enjoyed it. I am using a new sound recording for it, it's much better now compared to older videos. The flowers are "bouganville")
Thank you so much for the tour. I visited Italy years ago with the intention of returning but alas life got in the way. Maybe soon. New subscriber!
Gracias por el vídeo, que bonito lugar.
¡Muchas gracias Raúl!
Wow, thanks for showing this amazing town! Do you personally prefer Sperlonga or Gaeta by the way?
Glad you enjoyed it Aidan... It really depends... Sperlonga is in a way a bit...more unique , much much smaller. A very beautiful town. Gaeta is indeed a bigger town and offers much more. Though I would prefer Sperlonga to my taste...very very beautiful
É incrivel eu conheci e amei.
Que bom que gostou, Margarete
Wow it's a beautiful virtual walk. Nice to see the city. Like from Germany.
Danke freund
Woah! What a tour today, impressive. What a place to visit this is, would love to spend a time here by the beach...
Glad you liked it Tamson!
Italy is very nice
Glad you like it dear firend, wish you a nice weekend!
Lindo passeio obrigado 💐💕🌺
Querida Irene , obrigado!
Wow! Amazing! Awesome trip! 👍👍👍
Thanks for visiting
Merci Beaucoup cher Line! Je pense Aussi... Sperlonga est tres particulair
He he! We're going to stay there in just a couple of weeks!
Ahhh Hugo... Sperlonga is one of my top 5 towns I've EVER visited in this channel... it's just breathtaking... lucky you to go there...Stunning stunning town - if you can visit also Itri nearby and of course Gaeta - Manarola also not too far... you can check them when I walked there - beautiful towns too
@@StillWanderer Yeah man, we're doing Spello - Perugia - Rome/Trastevere - Sperlonga and will visit a bunch of others from there. We rewatched your vids to be sure. Do you still use the same email address? I wrote you a couple of times but might've ended up in your spam box. Let me know. If we're in the same area at the same time, spritzes are on me!
@@hugolafhugolaf Hi Hugo, oh didn't receive the messages... I will check in the spam then. Beautiful tour then... great choices. The email is: stillwanderertours@gmail.com did you write there? Would be great to catch up! let me know
@@StillWanderer Yup, August 8 and 9th.
Hugo didn't receive but saw your new email now - will reply now 🙏
Very beautiful but why are there so few people?
Indeed... not many people that day, it was the Sunday the italian football team played the final against England, so.... maybe that was the reason.
I hope to make a night walk soon... maybe during a weekend day of course, with some people around
so beautiful!
🤞👌
I want To live in italy !
Where are you from Mil? A ciao from Rome!

Hello! Do you know, the beach is far away from the train station? Thanks
Hi Alphabet, unfortunately, yeah, it is quite far...:/ The train station is in Fondi/Sperlonga... you need then a taxi or a bus from there. But if you manage it, you'll find one of the most beautiful town of Italy ever... and amazing beaches
L Italia e bella
❤️👌
Lindo
Obrigado Marcos!
Super !!!
Many thanks Sylwester!
Is it possible to reach the top of this town by car ?? Or I have to reach there by foot steps crossing lots of stairs ??or a long foot walk ?
Hi Sadia, one can park the car quite near from where I started filming in fact, so basically very very near to the centre. There are outside locations as well as an inside parking under the town
@@StillWanderer ,No I am actually asking about foot steps because my husband has backbone problem so he cannot climb or walk a long upward hill/mountain by foot ..
@@sadiaesha6512 I see Sadia. It's possible to visit Sperlonga from the very top of the town though, the narrow alleys go very steeply down after some times. But you can surely enjoy the beauty of it from the top of it. The main square is reasonable near from the parking spots also and the views from there are incredible... If you stay there without going too much inside the old town it's surely manageble!

87 degrees. You crazy or something? At least there's a breeze.
Incredibly hot indeed Dear Sharon - a good hat... some pauses here and there and I survived)... lots of wind and breeze in fact. It was a stunning Sunday evening
@@vegavit2984 😊🤞
@@StillWanderer I see what @Vega Vit has to say. I spent 25 years in Alberta Canada where temperatures of -20 degrees were quite common. But it was a "dry cold" 😉
)) it's so true about the dry cold!
@@StillWanderer 😉
Do you ever get lost in the maze?
Dear Sharon) A LOT... Even if a good planning is always good...some alleys are so small you can't program well beforehand... It's part of the game I guess
@@StillWanderer It's actually fun for the viewer (this one at least). It's always interesting to look around the next corner. Now, back to the ride in Trastevere.
Glad it is Sharon. Did you like the new "10 minutes of ambient sounds" at the end?
@@StillWanderer Hmmm, I wondered why you dawdled so long. It would have been a nice place to sit and take in the sights and sounds.
It was indeed such a nice place and atmosphere... I'll try to include something like this in the end ...to capture better the place and it's surrounding
😀😃😄💞🇬🇷
Evcharisto Litsa!
Gaeta please!! 🥰
Rebel, One of my earliest video in the channel was in Gaeta! I'll try to go back there again though
