Great to see the update on the new studio...very exciting. Would like to be part of the Course how do I sign up? Great channel thanks for all the tutorials you have done and keep doing.
Looking forward to the Joyo + power supply for busking review. Yours seems to be the bass version ? I’m in the process of making a 50w busking amp but got a heavy-ish deep cycle battery & will need trolley etc. The Joyo might have been better all along ! Great channel, love the reggae tutorials and your devotion (?) to generations of gear.
Looking forward to the course. I moved from iMacs to the Mini and it's great. Much cheaper when you decide to upgrade. Just got my motorcycle license last summer. Not sure if I'll buy a bike, but it was fun taking the course and riding around for a couple days :)
Have an M1 mac Mini and it is definitely a great little workhorse. Although for future proofing, I am going to move up to either a Studio model, or, as I'm not in a complete rush, see if the next iteration of M series MacMinis are released soon(ish!), and judge whether that would suit my future needs. My old (2014) iMac 5K is still going, and so far, no problems with it, but it does now seem slow at times compared to the M1, and as it's a Fusion drive, and nearly 10 years old, I know that the HDD component, is likely to start getting more problematic! Anyway, good to have you back online.
Hi Tim. Yeah, but the purchasing problem is: the basic Mac Mini is a super value little workhorse in it's basic starter config, but for music (especially larger sample sets like orchestral sets) you really need 16gb ram & for all the apps & plugins & samples ideally you want the larger SSD (512gb) unless you want to start storing content on external disks & and then with those upgrades it's £1100 quid, just over ½ the price of the basic Mac Studio with 32gb ram, 512gb ssd & more cores & grunt... hmmm
@@dancetech Yep. I bought my M1 from the Apple Refurb in 16GB 512 SSD format, almost as soon as one appeared on that site. Guessing that there will be a drop in price for that model, at least on the refurbish/second hand market, as soon as an M2 (or 3???) MacMini is released. So far with a reasonably fast external SSD for libraries, including the Spitfire BBC standard orchestra, Kontakt libraries, and Superior Drummer 3, i have yet to see any bottlenecks with it. Having said that, just checked, and no M 1 MM on the refurb site at the moment (at least in the UK!).
Last year a guy I became friends with online a few years ago, came to visit my studio. He sat down on the mixing chair and gazed around and look thoroughly confused! He's around mid-30s in age and only ever known the "studio in a box" approach with DAW and plugins. As he looked he asked, "how does any of this work?" to even get started doing something with it. So I tried to explain how the signal flow works for audio and MIDI, but he was non-the wiser. He's done plenty of dance tracks and live DJ over the years, but not with so called old school analogue gear and rack units etc.
hi, thanks for the interest. Hope all is good for u 2 . yes it's happening slowly in background, sorry it's taking way longer. New mac coming soon and then we need a new camera & a few extra lights - i'm investigating cams at the moment. Mac will be either a M2 mini or an Apple refurbished M1 Max studio... soon come
This video needed more camera shake because I wasn't vomiting enough. I need more vomiting if I'm to lose weight. Please try harder to really shake that camera next time 👍
i am going to make a video course, but yes, if i can find a good cost-effective advertising place i would also want students in real life, like taking guitar lessons.
Surely it would be easier to run a single USB cable from computer to rack & then break out to short run analog cables to patch bay etc, than to make a whole analog loom from one side of the room to the other.
Yeah i thought that too. Not sure what max usb cable length would do to the signal, i'll have to thoroughly look into it. the usb run would be more than 5 metres i think
Ive been looking out for your updates - still my number one site, keep up the enthusiasm and good humour.
Good to see you brother looks amazing and tideous as you are....great...Joe from Staten ISland
Hello mate, hows it going?
Sorry, comments were turned off, on now 👍
Studio getting there my man. I’m still here watching out for your updates
Your impression of basic UA-cam channels made me laugh so hard… 15 ways to make your kick drum bang yeah!!! Love your work! 🫡

Is that a Honda CB500X? Would def want to hear your views on it. Audio production and motorbikes - the perfect channel for me. 😂
Nice bike btw

So are you planning to have students in there? Getting the hang of the board. Making projekts that they want to try?

more tutorial reggae music please
When you get your Mac Mini get an M1! It’ll change your life!
How long has this analog gear been out of service?
