Most waxes already have mineral spirit in them. I leave most of my wax in the wax brush and put in tissue so is dust free. I soft the brush with white spirit a bit and start waxing a new peace. Is no issue.
Hi Dodo. I love following you I hear you say you don’t use wax much for finishing your furniture. I’m assuming because you can’t paint over it what do you use for your topcoat as a general rule
Actually, the wax (dixie Belle Best Dang Wax) I used is water-based, and it can be painted over after it is fully cured. It depends on the paint I chose as to which topcoat I use. And sometimes a topcoat isn't necessary. I do like water-based topcoats.
I cannot get the residual mineral spirits from my brush - let it dry and washed it with warm soapy water as suggested, but next time I tried to use it, it really messed up my wax. Any suggestions - it's an Annie Sloan brush so I really want to rescue it...
Your hair is beautiful!!!! Thank you for this video! Helped me out a lot!

Can you use paint thinner instead of mineral spirits?
I agree it smells like mineral spirits. Lye soap works best
Thanks for the tip! I’ll try that. 🙂
Thank you!!
You’re welcome. 🙂
No link for the products you're using. Can you give us that info? Thanks! Great information.
My apologies. Here you go. You can find the odorless Mineral Spirits at most hardware stores and Amazon. Here is my affiliate link. amzn.to/2xJ9I1m

U don't really need 2, but I use white spirit. Or turpentine.

Happy to help. 🙂

Oh no, I've never had that happen. I would try re-washing several times with warm soapy water. It should come clean.
i am in love, Do! :)
What wax brush were you cleaning? That's a nice big one and I've been looking for one like that.
