I know, I watch every year hoping a Golden will get through but they never ever do. A golden has NEVER won crufts in it's entire history. Makes me think the whole show is just one big set up. The same dogs are picked every single year.
Unfortunately golden retrievers stopped being the choice for 'gun dog'. They are not so popular as working breed in the field in UK. People always look for the ones that are good looking + compact or athletic. One day a Golden may be chosen though. But because they became too big and heavy, probably not going to be chosen anytime soon.
@@dogsfromthecity I have a feeling you're probably right. My golden retriever is from a working line and she doesn't look like these. She's smaller and slender. I never see goldens like her at crufts.
"The lab should be able to move all day.... They should have substance but also be athletic they shouldn't be too heavy and cumbersome". ...Right so why did this dog win BOB? That was one of the most chunkiest and exaggerated, block of butter on legs, I've ever seen.
There's two types of labrador, a working line and a show line. You can get both to be a healthy slim weight, but the show line does tend to be broarder like that. I've worked with hundreds of dogs, unfortunately not the fattest lab I've ever seen. And they always seem to be fat yellow labs
This was a terrific result. It was SO hard to narrow down but once he did, two of my faves got 1st & 4th! Lovely to see rare/uncommon/vulnerable breeds (and the much-beloved Lab ^~) place. Would've rocked if the Lagotto, IWS, & SWD made a curly trifecta, though. ;-} Really excellent group...Slovakian!, Munsterlander, the German pointers (esp long & wire), all the retrievers (esp Curly!!), all the spaniels (esp Irish!), wire Viz, Britt, Pointer... All of them. I do prefer a little more breaking up of the spots in belton, but very cute English nonetheless.
Was a miracle an orange roan cocker got BOB… Shame didn’t a place in final. I wished they would show more of individual breeds instead of the speed races.
Mybreed too, I showed them at Westminster. K. C, New York . ours are more racy, elegant, longer neck, sleek coated, more chiseled heads, not. "Coarse" as in UK. Are in sporting group
Golden retrievers will always be the best dogs in the world despite what some judge says. I should know because I own a beautiful Golden male puppy who is my second retriever as I lost my boy Manney 8 months ago who my children grew up with and now my grandson will do the same with my new puppy.
I know .Seems this judge was hell bent on curly coated dogs with the Lagotto,I think its all about its coat and shape, and Spanish Water Dog and Irish Water Spaniel.
8:31 Perhaps I’m prejudiced but personally I prefer the American Brittany to the version of the Brittany in the UK. They are more elegant looking, in my opinion, but still have the compact size and the large lungs that make them really fast in the field.
I feel sorry for that Bracco Italiano. It was tucking its tail between its legs, obviously very nervous. It's not used to showing at this level yet, and it's freaking out. It's a nice looking dog, but nervousness/shyness is a fault, as is the position of the tail (according to the announcers).
My Vizsla does not have a greasy to the touch coat ? And i am sorry if I offend anyone and i do understand that the handlers dress to show off the dog they are showing but do some of them look in a mirror before they set off
Whoever is handling that German long haired pointer should be eliminated. That tugging and yanking back. The dog is jumping all over her because she’s handling the dog so badly that they’re stressed and trying to avoid her. Terrible handler. Poor dog. Get a decent handler and your dog will show so much better.
How many of those dogs who are meant to be bred to purpose would actually be able to do what was originally bred for. Yes, there are working and show lines but working are both bred for purpose and fit for purpose not. Show lines are bred to over exaggerate certain points/ parts of the dogs, GSDs, Pugs and Staffordshire bull terriers just to name a few.
Why isn’t GSP allowed? They say it’s because it’s from Germany. But the two other German pointers are too. And those are not the only German breeds on the carpet
why?? it doesn't hurt the dog if done by a vet and some dogs look weird with out docked tails the doberman looks like a black and tan hound dog and not the brave guard dog its supposed to be
@@redschafer7804 I said exact same thing .. Looks like a blk. & tan Coonhound! Lost that alert dobie look, been done for decades, & u can't show an AKC. registered in U. S . Same with Cane Corsos, look like mastiffs, & AmStaff ears need be cropped, to show
@@redschafer7804 Show dogs are always heavier. Same with the Swedish Elkhound my brother and sister in law had. He got everything, was winning a lot but was too heavy to hunt, the younger one was lighter and perfect for tracking but didn't win at shows
My dad loves labradors and it was his birthday yesterday so pleased to see it place second in group
Me too
Shame that English cocker wasn’t placed, most beautiful one I’d ever seen
i thought so too.
Usually seen blue roam color, wasn't even pulled out, & tri English Springer looks nothing like. here. U. S , is coarse
Super group to judge, love his No.1 💝
Watching this it's like watching paintings in an art gallery in motion, we've seen them in a 100 oil paintings. :)
Sad the goldens are always overlooked. That one was beautiful and so happy.

They always seem to really enjoy the whole thing, don't they?

@Cannis Khan Not so much as a gundog but they are used in large numbers as guide/assistants dogs. It's just unfair in my opinion

I love the wired-haired gundogs; they have such character.

It's a shame... labradors suffer so much from overweight and obesity. This dog, placed 2, is not a gundog except from the name of its breed
Absolutely agree

Just absolutely beautiful animals !!!
Tous vraiment magnifiques bien sur les animaux sont vraiment trop beaux
Sad seeing the nervousness in a lot of the dogs too at being examined by the judge. Temperament should outweigh conformation when breeding.
Ils sont vraiment trop beaux tous

I have an orange roan cocker, why is it a miracle? I am new to all of this!
Great video
Except all the talking
It would be fantastic if you could post the judging of the TOY Dogs🙂
one of these days the spinone will win! i love mine 🥰 stunning ancient breed! great job to all especially flossy! 🎉
А Slovakian rough- haired pointer💋

TRUE 🤣🤣
No surprise the English sheepdog won because the judge used to breed them. The spaniel should have been the winner by a country mile
Some of these handlers didn't pass the vibe check

I'm fairly sure that the Golden works
The toller both work and show. The Weim and vizsla too. Probably more of them, but I know these three individuals do
And the Gordon presented
The lagotto could probably do her job. Good fur, right energy, overall a nice dog.
docked GSP ???
