I live in Alaska. We carry. I was at a 24 hour gas station. There was a young lady working one night. I was a reg ,the coffee was good. I asked her if it bothered her that I was armed. She gave me the coffee for free and said she liked having her armed regulars around. Made her feel safe. Then she pulled up her shirt to show me her side arm and smiled.
I was a Commiefornia Cop for 27 years ( Educational PD & Municipal PD). Educators should not be allowed to control a police department (I have some interesting accounts with political hacks and educators). Enforcing gun laws against law abiding citizens is Not Constitutional, and a waste of time. I was a constitutional cop. I did not enforce laws because the legislature passed a statute. I never had a problems with armed citizens...I only had problems with career criminals.
My brother-in-law is a cop in California and he tried to explain to me that I don’t need more than 10 rounds Even if there are multiple intruders, he said I shouldn’t miss The brainwashing is strong with this one… I’ve wanted to be a cop for a long time, but I can’t see myself being a cop in California even though I’m from there … how fucked up is that that the criminals have better weapons than the citizens?
On July 6, 2016, Philando Castile, a 32-year-old African American man, was fatally shot during a traffic stop by police officer Jeronimo Yanez of the St. Anthony police department in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area. For his legal carry. He was told to hand over his license and registration and was murdered in the process doing so. Castile, who was licensed to carry a firearm, told Yanez that he had a firearm. Yanez replied, "Don't reach for it then". Castile responded, "I'm, I, I was reaching for...", to which Yanez replied, "Don't pull it out". Castile replied, "I'm not pulling it out", and Reynolds said, "He's not..." Yanez again said, "Don't pull it out". The police officer then fired seven close-range shots at Castile, hitting him five times. Castile died of his wounds at 9:37 p.m. at Hennepin County Medical Center, about 20 minutes after being shot. Like I said, guns for cops and their good friends only. Like Kyle Rittenhouse and George Zimmerman.
Former CO cop here. I worked overnights alone for years with backup 15+ minutes away. I wouldn't have done the job without the possibility of an armed civilian providing help if I got into a bad situation.
Thank you, im a legal citizen and would have been happy to back you but not interfere. The scary part for a citizen is do you want assistance or am I in trouble for actually helping ? We respect and want our police to be safe
I've been in law enforcement in the DFW area since 1987. Eighteen years on patrol and the past nineteen as a detective. The 2nd Amendment and the citizen's ability to bear arms is crucial to our freedom, which is rapidly dwindling away.
How many times did you arrest people for "firearms violations"? (AKA infringements). Also, how many times did you let people go who were in violation of unconstitutional laws?
I got pulled over earlier this year with my legal concealed carry in the passenger seat. I live in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. I informed the cop that I have my legal concealed carry in the passenger seat and will not reach for it. He said thats fine. I gave him my license and registration, he comes back and gives me a warning that my registration is up and to get that taken care of. He also thanked me for supporting the 2nd amendment and let me go.
I am a firearms instructor and an independent security contractor. I only open carry as it's my personal and professional preference. I support concealed carry in the same way Colion supports open carry. My issue isn't people who have a personal opposition to open carry. My issue is the people who claim to be pro 2A but have a general opposition to open carry. It's not for anyone to say how anyone else should or shouldn't carry.
I worked with this particular guest. The conversation was great, to the point and honest. Thanks for bringing him on the show brother. I’m a fan and have been watching your podcast for a while now. Was fun to see a brother in arms cut it up with you!
What a great interview. We need more officers like Erik. I have a background in military and law enforcement and my secret was to treat suspects with respect until they no longer deserved it. Most of the time I had no problems at all. I'm glad I'm not a part of law enforcement now.
@@smtbigelow you’re listening skills are lacking. I said for me…FOR ME…I wouldn’t open carry. It’s a tactical thing, for me; not you. I’m all for people open carrying, I just don’t recommend it as I always want the element of surprise when I’m out and about.
After thirty-plus years working with police departments, I believe there are three types of officers. 1. Law Enforcement officers, usually rookies, who go strictly by the letter of the law. Their lack of experience and or confidence restricts their decision-making. 2. Peace officers, usually veteran officers, who go by the spirit of the law. They read and research the laws to better understand what was the intent of the law when it was written? Does this situation fit that intent? What is best for everyone involved, including the possible suspect? What will maintain peace in the community? 3. Bad officers, curriculums, and instructors, that will twist and stretch the law, interpreting it to fit their own needs or purpose. They look for shortcuts to avoid the extra investigations and search warrants needed in order to make a good case and a good arrest. They ignore the original intent of the laws they use. These officers frequently get themselves and their department into trouble, costing the department its reputation and millions of dollars.
I live in a smallish 45k Texas town and I open carry often. I feel it's important for people to see regular citizens carrying a firearm. I do go out of my way to be extra polite and friendly when I am open carrying because I want to make a positive impact on people by a guy carrying a gun. My $0.02.
You should get together with Colion and put your 2cents to his on what you think cops will do if the feds say fawk your fun rights my town for one said fawk the feds an didn’t even enforce the pistol brace bull shit
Respect🫡!!! From Texas as well I’ve thought about becoming one as well. But I’ve had seizures growing up. I’ve already had three this year. If there was ever a way to join I would.
I’ve only had one experience with a cop while carrying. I was pulled over, he asked “Are you carrying?” Me - Yes Where is it? Me - In this sling bag on my chest GOOD! I never understand how people just throw them on the floorboard, like, how are you gonna get to it if you need it? … I was quite shocked lol
Haven't been pulled over a whole lot but i had my CCW and ID at the same time. They usually ask "Is it on you at the moment?" I say yes they say "Cool just don't grab yours and i wont grab mine."
That’s a problem I have though, with getting a CCW permit. You’ll constantly be questioned whether you have it or not. When it shouldn’t matter if you do or don’t.
@@GoogleAccount-b1r5e Yeah at the time Georgia required it but sense then have adapted constitutional carry. I personally keep my CCW just for this reason. I don't want to mention "Gun" aloud Incase his/her partner hears and over reacts. Simply handing both over avoids that.
I worked as a volunteer with sheriff search & rescue groups, and was constantly reminded that I was a civilian, and they weren't. Somehow...they were different. and I didn't quite measure up.

I carry IWB holster but outside of the waistband of the pants; so the holster is on the inner side of the belt, but not in the pants. Very comfortable, feels well secured by the belt.
I saw a video of a guy who was open-carrying at his residence. The cops were there to talk about an incident and he welcomed them into his home which is the first mistake and they wanted him to disarm himself in his own house. He refused and told them to leave but you know how that fragile cop ego goes, he ended up in cuffs. So I know how they feel about the public being armed.
Then he needs to sue. If it's a consensual encounter in his house, he has every right to tell them to leave. If they don't have a warrant they have to comply, unless there's exigency (unlikely).
State Trooper from a little further north here. I generally watch "here's what the cops think" videos a bit cynically as they're usually not even close to an accurate representation of law enforcement in my region. However, this was actually pretty great. There are far more out here with similar mindset, as exhibited here, than people care to know about. The well-being and constitutionally guaranteed rights of good people should be our priority. Keep it real, folks!
Knowing the difference between a Citizen and a Criminal is paramount and far too many LEO’s are loosing perspective on this point and treat every encounter as a criminal encounter.
Cops like him is what is needed to bridge whatever gap there is between law enforcement and various communities. He really seems like at the end of the day, he just does his job and not try to assert some sort of weird dominance over people.
I'm glad to see so many former and current law enforcement officers saying they will not enforce unconstitutional laws. We need more people like you! We need law enforcement officers who care about the constitution and about the oath they took to uphold and defend the constitution. We need people like you to speak out against unconstitutional gun control laws that only make good people helpless. Thank you for your service and thank you for defending not only us but our constitutional rights.
As a cop, this is what I feel about gun laws: The following is correspondence that I recently had with WA state Senate Majority Leader, Andy Billig (D), reference numerous gun control bills currently being proposed here in WA state: Senator Billig, I'm a sworn police officer here in Washington state, and have been for 14+ years. I have faithfully emailed, called, and messaged the WA state legislature over the years whenever new gun control measures have been proposed. Myself and others in this State are growing weary and increasingly disheartened as we continue to watch unconstitutional laws proposed, that clearly violate the 2nd amendment, by the very ones who have sworn a solemn oath to uphold and support the U.S. Constitution. At the same time, criminals are not being held accountable, are being released back into our communities and victimizing others, and crime continues to skyrocket at higher and higher levels. I will continue to air my grievances and encourage others who have been elected into Governmental offices of authority in this State to honor their solemn oath and to stop infringing on citizens Constitutionally protected rights to keep and bear arms by continuing to propose unconstitutional laws and restrictions on firearms. The 2nd Amendment is crystal clear. Shall NOT be infringed. Citizens belief that their government has their best interests in mind continues to erode to an all time low. We feel our voices aren't being heard. We feel the ones who should be protecting our Constitutional rights the most vigorously, are the very ones who are seemingly, it's greatest threat. This saddens me and distresses me to my core. It's not hyperbole when I say that MANY truly believe that we are losing our freedoms and liberties, and we don't know how to stop it. We feel powerless and it's sickening. If our voices aren't being heard by our elected officials, then who will speak up for us? If our elected officials refuse to support and defend the U.S. Constitution as vehemently as we do, but rather actively oppose it and attempt to erode it at seemingly every turn, what else can we do?? I urge you to please oppose ANY gun control measures that are currently or soon to be proposed and I will continue to honor my solemn oath to support and uphold both the U.S. Constitution and Washington state Constitution. I respectfully urge you to do the same! The consequences if we don't, are scary to even think about. Thank-you. --------------‐-‐------------------------------------------------------------ Senator Billig's response to me: Thank you for your e-mail and for service to our community as a police officer. I, too, have sworn an oath to support and uphold the Constitution. As I support the Constitution, that means I also support the 2nd Amendment which gives citizens the right to bear arms. I have also sworn an oath to the Washington State Constitution and the right to bear arms in our state Constitution is even stronger than in the U.S. Constitution. I do want to be clear however, that the U.S. Supreme Court and the State Supreme Court have both ruled many times that Constitutional provisions may be subjected to reasonable and minimal limits. For example, the right to the free press can be limited if the press were to release sensitive national security documents that would imperil Americans serving abroad and the right to free speech does not allow someone to yell "fire" in a crowded theater or badger someone to the point of liable. Similarly, the Courts have ruled that the 2nd Amendment may have certain limits, such as not allowing rocket launchers or allowing permits for concealed weapons. So, we can not dismiss all gun safety laws as unconstitutional. I will be looking closely at any measure that may come before me related to firearms to determine if it is Constitutional according to current case law and whether it might be effective at keeping our community safe. Thanks, again, for reaching out. The people of my legislative district overwhelmingly support gun safety laws (as measured by numerous gun safety ballot initiatives in our district) and feedback to our office, so I particularly appreciate hearing from someone with views different than what I usually encounter from constituents. All my best, Andy Senator Andy Billig 3rd Legislative District - Spokane Senate Majority Leader ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's my final email to Senator Billig. I did not receive a response back from him after this: Senator Billig, I appreciate you taking time to respond to my email. I also appreciate you re-affirming your oath to uphold and support the U.S. Constitution and State Constitution. As a father of -- children, and someone who works nearly 60 hour work weeks, emailing and calling my State's senators and other political leaders is not really what I prefer to use my time doing. Saying this, I feel compelled to do so because I have also sworn this same solemn oath and yet I continually see politicians draft, promote, and repeatedly attempt to pass gun control legislation that eventually gets struck down by the Supreme court and is deemed to be unconstitutional. This is in direct contradiction to what they (elected officials) have sworn their solemn oath to do. This is wrong. This is why I continue to take time out of my busy schedule to do this. I have studied Constitutional law throughout my career, and like you stated, I understand that there can be reasonable limits. However, I do take issue when politicians continually push gun control, that is later deemed by the Supreme Court as being unconstitutional. The citizenry of this State shouldn't continually feel the pressure to email their legislature and to contact their elected leaders because they are continually attempting to pass unconstitutional gun laws, and then later deemed as such. The people should expect that their elected officials are the biggest defenders of the U.S. and State Constitutions, but sadly this just isn't the case. It does not matter if the majority of your legislative district is overwhelmingly in support of unconstitutional gun control laws, because you, me, and every other governmental offical is constrained from passing, and/or enforcing these types of "laws" because it is a violation of the Constitutional rights of the people that you and I swore an oath to support and uphold. While some could say that we live in a representative democracy, it's more accurate to say we live in a Constitutional Federal Republic. I'm extremely thankful for this fact, because if it wasn't, our Constituonal rights and liberties would have been stripped away from us long ago. Thanks again for re-affirming your oath. Take care! Regards, ----- ----- PS: I am waiting for the magazine ban here in WA state to be deemed as unconstitutional, but if for some very strange reason it isn't, than I will promptly be turning in all of my standard capacity magazines that I use at work and will request that the police department issue me only 10 round restricted magazines. After all, why do I deserve special gun rights "privileges" as a law enforcement officer that are NOT afforded to the Constitutionally protected citizens of whom I am tasked with serving? That would be hypocritical of me. I would hope that any political official who supported this type of gun control would also do the same. Any type of security detail that's afforded to Senators, should also be constrained to using only 10 round magazines. You and I both know this would never happen though, because these types of "laws" aren't meant for senators, politicians, law enforcement, military, or criminals. These types of laws are for the people.
You sir are fighting the good fight! I respect your will in combating the never ending gun control push for the common folk. Especially when you don’t have to and being law enforcement. The negatives of ridiculous laws being passed would likely not affect you. So shows even more your good character in sticking up for the constitution and what you believe. 🫡
Yippee...State Rep Billig truly does not understand Constitutional law. His example of being prohibited from yelling fire in a crowed theater is false. Anyone can yell fire, but if they do and it causes a panic that creates adverse reactions and injury or worse occurs, t 10:02 hen the offender is held accountable. The speech is not prohibited. Billing is using talking points to push his disarmament agenda. Washington States' Constitution affords greater protection than the US Constitution when it comes to the 2A. It states that the peoples rights can not be impaired. Which means it takes less government restriction that denies the people their freedoms. Yet our legislators continue to trample on those rights. As a Washington State resident I stand with you in defending our 2A as well as all our rights. 10:02 10:02
I had a pastor who used to be in law enforcement. He also told me to do the hands outside of window thing and I have done that ever since. My experience after having been pulled over a few times since that has been good. The police really appreciate it and usually let me go.
I've been pulled over while carrying. Rolled down all windows. Hands on the steering wheel. Answered their questions, notified them I'm carrying. Never had an issue! And I live in Washington state. In my state having the Concealed carry permit... helps
I spent 20 years in the military. Every time I held my gun the first thing I did was pray I never had to use it. The second thing I did was make sure I took my training seriously and focus on my situational awareness. At the end of the day, I wanted to be able to go home when it was time. That’s natural. To say I shouldn’t have served because I like living is an asinine and ignorant point of view. I have had one LEO encounter in Illinois and one in South Carolina where it felt like I was pulled over for being brown in the wrong part of town, because both followed me long enough to run my plates and see a clean record, and despite having my hands on the dash and not moving for my wallet until directed, and yet was still harassed. But out of about 15 traffic stops in my life, I get it. The SC stop I called the non-emergency line and asked how to file a FOIA for the body cam footage and was put through to the duty sergeant, who heard me out and assured me that he would handle retraining the deputy, who he said was pretty new to the force. I wasn’t carrying because SC hadn’t enacted constitutional carry yet, and I had just moved here, but my gut says he would’ve been one of the dumb ones if I had been.
I always try to be polite when stopped. In Washington I think they know you have a permit to carry from your car license. The last time we had a b.s. session alongside the road and when we were done we shook hands and went our way. The last thing I said was don’t forget the beer for the game Sunday and he remarked your going to make me feel guilty and I said no you were right I was going to fast. 2 weeks later at a grocery store I seen him and he asked if I was behaving. He’s a good guy.
Considering how intelligent Colion is and the questions he poses, I'm quite surprised that he doesn't speak of Massad Ayoob(I've never even heard him reference Massad Ayoob). He is one of the greatest second amendment and self defense advocates, not to mention a great trainer, teacher, cop, prosecutor, expert witness, and all-around knowledgeable guy about anything related to self defense with firearms and lethal force law and tactics.
A few years ago I asked two Philadelphia cops, if given the order to confiscate guns, would they. They could not answer the question. I reminded them of their oath and they still couldn't answer the question. IMO, most cops would follow orders and become boxcar loaders.
Heres a tip. Put your registration and insurance cards in an envelope and put that envelope in the sun visor. Keeps you organized and prevents the digging around and opening center consoles or glove boxes. Ive had cops thank me for that because alot of people are not organized and you can imagine how much time is wasted waiting for them to find their documents. I live in AZ and i never tell an officer that im carrying unless asked. If asked then it becomes duty to inform and ill tell them what gun it is and where it is. The way i see it is concealed carry means only i should know that im carrying and that includes cops unless asked of course. I respect police but I personally prefer to interact with them the least that I can. That includes sharing the very least information with them. The thing is very rarely do cops want to have a genuine small talk conversation with you. They are fishing for probable cause or suspicious behavior.
Smart man . I keep my drivers license , registration insurance in my passport in the sun visor. I wait till they start speaking to me to put keys on my dashboard . You got to be careful of the “furtive movements “
27:34 instead of telling the Officer I carrying, I have a gun, etc. That can be taken many ways so I offer my CCW card on top of my DL... only time I did that the Officer gave the CCW card back to me and said, I do not want to see that. But it got my message across without having to say the GUN word,
1986 -NJ resident driving from LA to Vegas. Left around 6PM and misjudged the travel time. Drove a Chevy Corsica rental. Got tired and pulled over to rest around midnight. Couldn't sleep, so I tried to drive farther. Couldn't do it. Pulled over and tried to rest. Because I was in nowhereville, I put my keys under my seat. There came a knocking at the driver's window. I opened my eyes and a pistol was pointed at my head. I was told, "Sheriff's officer, put your hands where I can see them." The pistol started to shake. "Roll down your window" The pistol was shaking even more. I explained to the officer EVERY move that I needed to make and why [keys/wallet]. It wasn't until he saw my LEO ID did the gun stop shaking. He was in a blacked-out Bronco waiting for wire thieves along the railroad that ran along the highway. He let me go. Needless to say, I was WIDE awake the rest of the trip.
I’m only at 9:30 into this and I think this is great so far. If a cop injected himself into my conversation at a bar and said “bro, someone thinks they saw you carrying and you seem good but maybe move on” I would shake his hand.

Yes you can, not all cops even begin to support the shit you think they do. There are bad ones out their and those are the ones you hear about. It's easier to blame the cop instead of the politician you voted for that keeps making the laws. Imho, people who say this are no better than the anti gunners
Sure you can. Cops are citizens too. I’m a civilian now (formerly served), and I don’t want my Rights trampled. The Rights I fought to protect. At the same time, I can’t imagine a civil society without police. Without them, who pursues the serious criminals ? Who quells the riots ? Who makes the streets safe ? No way you can make generalizations. Every city, every county, every state will vary with the amount of dedication a given cop exhibits towards the 2A. As a result, default to the "they'll come for the guns once their paycheck is on the line." The number of cops who won't will be few and far between, no matter how much they claim they won't do it today.

In my line of work, my wallet is usually within reach. I've managed to get out of a lot of tickets by doing exactly what Colion does. My first step is to make sure that my keys are out of the ignition and my hands are visible. And even with CA cops, they tend to have a halo effect when you do this. Especially taking the keys out of your ignition
First they revised FM 3-39.40 internment and resettlement operations in 2010 to include U.S citizens on U.S soil. Now the DOD just issued directive 5240.01 authorizing the use of lethal military force on U.S citizens.
I get the reference to FM 3-39.40, but you sure about DoDD 5240.01? Last I looked, that was signals intel- albeit that may be worthy of some concern as well.
I got pulled over last week for expired tags been over a year. It was night time when this happened. I rolled down both driver side windows gave him my paperwork and explained I was in the process of renewing my tags. He came back with my paperwork and license and told me to have a Goodnight. He was a super nice cop.
It depends on the color of the state. The State Police or Highway Patrol in blue states are often (in my experience) insufferably arrogant and view themselves as a privileged class who far outrank normal civilians in terms of their gun rights. LEOs in red states tend to have less of a superiority complex vs. regular folks on the whole gun rights topic.
I have a simple question to see if a cop is pro 2A: Are you willing to enforce laws like felony possession of a firearm? If they say yes they aren’t “pro 2A” that signals they think only law abiding people can own guns and according to the text history and tradition of this country people who had criminal records could still own firearms. Your rights don’t go away when you mess up.
When you live in the hood of Chicago, you might change that thinking. Do your time but you’re still taken care of inside so you don’t reform. You come out and still have that same mentality that you’ll just do another 5 years.
It's interesting to hear different perspectives from law enforcement in different states. Here in Pennsylvania, most LEO'S I've talked to also like when law abiding gun owners concealed carry, but during a traffic stop, they rather not know if you're carrying at the time UNLESS absolutely necessary. I.e. if your firearm could possibly become visible in the process of retrieving your paperwork.
The fact that if I am carrying a gun and a cop that I may be talking to for whatever reason searches me or whatever and I am REQUIRED to give it up FOR THEIR SAFETY while they never have to do the same in return tells me everything I need to know about how cops regard citizens LEGALLY carrying guns. I have been treated like a criminal several times by cops JUST BEING FEARFUL instead of treating me like a HUMAN FREAKING BEING! If I have made no threats or broken any laws then there is no good reason why any cop should ever take my gun "FOR THEIR SAFETY" while being surrounded by cops who literally have their hands on their guns.

What I've learned about LEOs and 2A is this, if they were gun people before they got into that line of work, they support 2A. If not it's a crap shoot! How did I come to this conclusion? So, if they are a well traveled person, who’s had 50 encounters with police. Let’s be liberal with that and say 3 cops showed up every time. That’s 150 cops he’s been around to get some credibility behind his statement. But if he’s been in the same small town dealing with the same 10 cops the past 10-15 years, well that makes it more difficult to buy into his statement. Truth is, most people that make these statements have never had a real conversation with a cop, nor have they had more than 1-3 encounters over their lifetime. So, the reason it matters is if I am to give credibility to him, I want to know if he’s had real experience or UA-cam taught him everything he knows. I would never tell a doctor they all work for big Pharma, I’ve never really talked to doctors and when I do, it’s not because I wanted to be there. Same logic applies.
Every crime analysis conference I have attended about 1/3 of the presentations cover how a cell phone was used to solve the case. I tell everyone if you are going to commit a crime leave your phone at home.
Funny how you mentioned not getting tickets because of carrying. My plate shows disabled veteran. I always have license and cpl ready and announce when they walk up. After a conversation they usually let me go. One interaction on I69 coming out of Flint mi a state trooper asked where it was. I told him on my hip, one interaction console and long gun on back seat. He asked why so many guns. I told him my son and I were just coming from a welding job on North end of Flint. IYKYK. He smiled and said “why so few of guns?” Ice broken and then he wanted to know what we had….lol
He said "I believe everyone should carry, who can legally carry." My guy, every gun law that says someone who is free in society shouldn't carry, that is an infringement. Your words mean you do believe in infringements.
Bingo It’s a dodge …”legally” is a spectrum, some places 10rd mags are banned. This guy would ruin your life over a few extra rounds. How many of these pro2A cops have let people walk that they’ve found to have broken an idiotic gun law ?
@@dannymccraw4841Unfortunately here in Illinois/Chicago, if you’ve gone to jail and are now a felon, those rights are taken away. So, I wasn’t bothered by that comment. In this state, you gave up that right by committing that crime even though you are ridiculously reformed, even though you and are doing so much better in life than many others, because you were young and dumb. Does it suck? Absolutely. But his statement is correct when he says “legally can.” But I get your point about it being constitutional. I agree with you. BUT! I also have come across who have done their time and learned nothing. So, yes, it’s still their constitutional right and if they make the choice to break the law again is on them. I, just from experience feel like, the law in this state should deter from the initial infraction.

As a cop, this is what I feel about gun laws: The following is correspondence that I recently had with WA state Senate Majority Leader, Andy Billig (D), reference numerous gun control bills currently being proposed here in WA state:
Senator Billig, I'm a sworn police officer here in Washington state, and have been for 14+ years. Thank-you.
--------------‐-‐------------------------------------------------------------
Senator Billig's response to me:
Thank you for your e-mail and for service to our community as a police officer.
All my best,
Andy

Here's my final email to Senator Billig. I did not receive a response back from him after this:
Senator Billig,
I appreciate you taking time to respond to my email.
Take care!
Regards,

PS: I am waiting for the magazine ban here in WA state to be deemed as unconstitutional, but if for some very strange reason it isn't, than I will promptly be turning in all of my standard capacity magazines that I use at work and will request that the police department issue me only 10 round restricted magazines.

I've been pulled over while carrying. Rolled down all windows. Hands on the steering wheel. Answered their questions, notified them I'm carrying. Never had an issue! And I live in Washington state. In my state having the Concealed carry permit... helps
Sounds like a lot of shit to do to avoid getting shot for carrying
I think it's less a matter of having a permit and more a matter of you coming across more reasonable LEOs. The permit helped I am sure.
As George Patton once said "It's not your job to die for your country, it's your job to make the other poor b*****d die for his."

It makes me sick that you treat someones rights as a formality they sign away.

You can't be "Don't tread on me" and "Thin blue line" at the same time.
🤘🏼🤘🏼 I've been saying the same thing for years.
I’m a big believer in every citizen being willing and able to protect themselves to the extent they are able, but society needs police.

I have been in law enforcement for about 20 years. I do not care what a person owns. I only care what they do with it. If a person uses it to victimize others then it's a problem.
So you wouldn't arrest a felon in possession of a firearm?
Tyrant.
I can’t help but notice OP never seems to reply to any of these. Seems even they know they can’t do anything other than offer empty words and if the details were to come out, their actions will expose a different belief. 😂

@@alguenther5254 No.
I'm not normally a podcast fan but some of yours are pretty good, this one in particular. Very educational. 👍👍
I remember a copper theft from a spool on a dispensing trailer, the thiefs ran the wire trough the fence and tied it to their truck bumper, and drove down the street to unspool some and cut it off, but .. a police car saw them and gave chase, after going around a bunch turns it got too hard to pull and they got stuck there and arrested! lol !
Great interview.
Great Podcast! Great guest!
They’ll go after their guns too when they aren’t cops anymore.
Yep. They are already doing it to Vets.
Honestly makes me mad that cops get to have true Constitutional rights and we don't. Every cop can carry in all 50 states yet we peons can't.

This was great. Thanks guys!😂👍
Your comments prove your ignorance.
When you live in the hood of Chicago, you might change that thinking. Do your time but you’re still taken care of inside so you don’t reform. You come out and still have that same mentality that you’ll just do another 5 years.
Nah, cause then we'd have to let them vote, too, and we all know who is getting the felon vote.
The OP is legit. The two losers 👆hate liberty
@@williammoreland1870lol prove it
It's interesting to hear different perspectives from law enforcement in different states.
If I GTTA give up my gun our conversation ends RIGHT then and RIGHT there. My safety is just as important as yours and I've NEVER had a gun on ANYONE.
@@robertlane6431 the pro cop cope in here is sad, who you think is going to come take your guns? Probably the same guys arresting people for being in public parks during covid.....

@@jmfarouche6688by saying that the cops flunk the attitude test. So tired of seeing cops that think their opinion or what they have to say is more important than that of the citizens, that they can give any sort of directive to a citizen for any reason other than during an arrest. Period.
@@stuckgrenadepin.225 what they have to say isn’t more important, but they have alot more dangerous encounters than the average citizen. So why not put everyone at ease and be respectful. What I've learned about LEOs and 2A is this, if they were gun people before they got into that line of work, they support 2A. If not it's a crap shoot! How did I come to this conclusion? Worked part time in two gun shops and at least 1/3 of my fellow gun club members are either active or retired LEOs.

How many interactions have you personally had with police?
@TwoCopsOneDonut what difference does that make?
@@TwoCopsOneDonutWhat flavor boots do you like best?
@@joshuahantz7228 well I’m glad you asked! When you make a statement include “they all”. It makes me curious how a person could know what ALL police do.

He said "I believe everyone should carry, who can legally carry." My guy, every gun law that says someone who is free in society shouldn't carry, that is an infringement. Your words mean you do believe in infringements.
Bingo
It’s a dodge …”legally” is a spectrum, some places 10rd mags are banned. This guy would ruin your life over a few extra rounds. How many of these pro2A cops have let people walk that they’ve found to have broken an idiotic gun law ?
I agree, if you have served your time then you get your rights back, if you’re not reformed then don’t let them out!
I was thinking exactly the same thing.
@steven1365 moreover, how many times have they stopped a citizen from free travel to go on a fishing expedition?
