one thing i love about this season is that hopper is originally presented as a drunk, sloppy, incompetent police chief but you quickly realize that he IS in fact very competent (although reckless...) and he becomes your favorite character to follow!
The best description I ever heard for ST Season 1 is that the kids are in a Steven Spielberg movie, the teenagers are in a John Carpenter movie and the adults are in a Stephen King movie.
most of them get their chance to shine every season like will on season 2, el on season 3 and max on season 4. but dustin is shining the whole show he just makes it so much better

i had honestly forgotten how good of a performance both winona and charlie(jonathan’s actor) gave this season the desperation both of them have though in different ways and the dynamic and relationship they have with each other and will just great

I have been waiting for this season for SO long! And it did not disappoint!

I think the reason they let Hopper go was one, because they wanted to limit the number of people going missing, especially important local people like the Chief of Police, and two, they knew he had a history with alcohol and painkillers so they tried to make it seem like he was just on a bender. Also, the only time we heard them hearing Joyce was when she was on the phone or when the kids were hearing her through the ham radio, so it's hard to tell if her house was bugged or if they were just tapping into her phone and the radio waves. They never really showed Hopper finding a bug at her place.
I was getting tears in my eyes when I saw Hopper doing CPR on Will and showing what happened to his daughter at the same time :( ........it even showed the music that was in s4 when Max was dead for a min-

It’s so funny that Lukas was on your nerves so much bc when I was watching the show, because I was the opposite, I always thought he was the only logical one because he was zeroed in on finding Will, and not distracted by all the other crazy stuff happening. I felt like Mike forgot about Will completely because of thinking El was so cool

1:10:52 yeah, they are smarter, but no one said they were more mature than other children i also was very frustrated with lucas the first times that i watched season one, but, even if it doesn't justifies how rude he was to el, i kinda get it. like obviously i haven't been in a situation like this but think about it if you were lucas and suddenly your friend goes missing, and then this girl shows up, she acts supper weird, and you are a kid so you don't stop an think about the reasons she is acting that way, the girl doesn't give you a reason to trust her, you know nothing about her and then you discover that she is messing with the only way that you have to find your missing friend but us, as the audience that are watching her past and her traumas, we know we can trust he so we get angry at lucas for not felling that way forgetting that he hasn't seen what we saw

I usually don't like horror/scary stuff cause I get nightmares and have a hard time falling asleep, but weirdly Stranger Things isn't that scary for me. Can't wait for you to catch up and watch Season 4. I just finished season 4 and it's another level.
I just went through seasons one and two, because my boyfriend wanted to watch part one of season 4 and I was fine with starting from there and then going back, and it is a ride. Emotions aplenty 😂 enjoying watching reactions, now. (As well as starting season 3)
Your comment about not knowing how to tie a tie is really interesting to me bc I grew up without a mom.... I was raised by my dad and he had amazing friends and his boss was like a Grandfather to me. But I do remember my dad teaching me how to tie a tie and then my dad's friend teaching me how to tie a tie the hard and really classy way. Idk why your comment really made me think deeply.... Growing up without a mom has meant I missed out on a lot of motherly things, but it was interesting for me to take a step back and analyze different people's situations just from that one comment. Thanks for being open and sharing those little thoughts bc they are actually very deep!
11:14 I think what he means, or at least what I can infer, is that him asking if they have a problem here is meant to ask the question "is this bigger than just a lost child". For example, if Will just got lost, than theres no other threat to the town, but if will was kidnapped by say, a serial killer, than the town has a "problem" that could harm others...

Yeah, Lucas was the voice of reason. Those kinds of characters typically catch the most flak.
I just wish he would've been a bit calmer tho. He just kept screaming at everyone all the time which really didn't help the situation.

Growing up without a mom has meant I missed out on a lot of motherly things, but it was interesting for me to take a step back and analyze different people's situations just from that one comment. 11:14 I think what he means, or at least what I can infer, is that him asking if they have a problem here is meant to ask the question "is this bigger than just a lost child". For example, if Will just got lost, than theres no other threat to the town, but if will was kidnapped by say, a serial killer, than the town has a "problem" that could harm others...
