Not really my genre but I watched this because Netflix kept pushing it and the comedy seemed good. Enjoyed it more than I expected and was super excited to see you do a video of it!
It was silly for sure, but this was the first Hallmark style Christmas movie that I have seen in a long time that was actually enjoyable to watch. Since people went Hallmark movie crazy it’s become harder to find the ones that have a little something extra that make them worth watching.
I watched this movie with my daughter-in-law and her friend, who requested that we have the subtitles on. It added a whole other layer to the experience, especially the constant descriptions of the background music. 😅
My lore explanation for who carved the hot snowman is the spirit of her dead husband. Saw his wife was about to die of frost bite in their freezing cold house and decided it was time for drastic measures
Any day you post is the immediate best day of my week because I know I'm in for something smart, punny, funny, and damned entertaining. So sorry you had so much pushback getting the video out there, but I'm so very glad you prevailed. ❤

I grew up on Muppet Xmas, but also Emmit Otter's Jugband Christmas. It's slow and cheesy by today's standards, but I LOVED it when I was a kid, back in the stone age! LOL
speaking of Frosty the Snowman I have fond memories of watching a Newgrounds slasher parody of Frosty the Snowman called Snowy the Frostman it was absolutely brutal
George of the jungle also has “golden retriever boyfriend learning everything thru TV montage” scene. I prefer this one though, must be the Winter fuzzies in the air.
This is great. I did actually enjoy this movie, as a brit I just assumed that people in small town America were just happy to believe in insane stuff, especially around the holidays. Also because I so associate you with murder she wrote, I kept expecting Jessica Fletcher to show up, now that would have been a crossover. Since it's the same background music as flustered, clearly it's the same universe.
Ok this is the type of christmas movie I've been looking for! Its not too goofy (as I wanna roll my eyes every time they make a joke). And I feel like I'm gonna laugh and I adore the casting! Plus Jack, as you stated in the video, does give off golden retriever boyfriend vibes (which I definitely wanna be one day) :3
The Muppet Christmas Carol is my favourite holiday movie. Scrooged + Gremlins are in the top 10. So is Toys. I legit expected even after flopping that Toys would be rediscovered by new generations & become a cult fave. If anyone wants a weird little arthouse anti-war holiday film give it a go?
Great commentary as always and lamps 😂. Don't know if you'd be interested in the British Nan's Christmas Carol. Great, goofy fun with an amazing British cast.
Thank you for this review! Corny romcoms are my guilty pleasure (Holidate was really fun) and after seeing so many negative reviews, yours convinced me to give it a try.
My wife and I really enjoyed this one. It was just the silliest thing we could have hoped for and exactly what we needed, as we deal with our middle child's dissolving mental state.
Yes, my wife watched this a few weeks back... I must say this was one of the more tolerable ones over the years. The new one with the Full Monty/Magic Mike idea is also tolerable. Uuuugh, I can't believe I'm saying this!? I've obviously been desensitized and reprogramed.
I found a surprisingly fun one this year - Lifetime's Round and Round. It stars Vic Michaelis, who you may know from their fantastic work on Dropout's Game Changer, Make Some Noise, or their own series Very Important People, along with their masterful portrayal of Obi-Wan Kenobi in Dynasty Typewriter's Live Script Reads of Episodes 1-3. It's a Groundhog Day-inspired Hanukkah film and it was really well done. Highly recommend it! (Also, when I search it, it also comes up as a Hallmark film, but it said Lifetime when I bought it, so there you are.)

Happy Christmas, all!
For every bizarre christmas and holiday movie produced, the moment at 7:58 reassures me of one thing... ... ... I should ask Santa for a "nice lamp" montage.
Not really my genre but I watched this because Netflix kept pushing it and the comedy seemed good. Enjoyed it more than I expected and was super excited to see you do a video of it!
John Denver and the Muppets A christmas together is legit my favourite Christmas album
It was silly for sure, but this was the first Hallmark style Christmas movie that I have seen in a long time that was actually enjoyable to watch. Since people went Hallmark movie crazy it’s become harder to find the ones that have a little something extra that make them worth watching.
It’s not the holidays without a pushing up roses video 🍿
Thought for sure you were going to say, "As always, stay frosty." ☃️
Was low-key waiting for PushingUpRoses to review this movie! Was not disappointed!
I watched this movie with my daughter-in-law and her friend, who requested that we have the subtitles on. It added a whole other layer to the experience, especially the constant descriptions of the background music. 😅
I like how when he came to life it said "mysterious Christmas music", but was just the intro to some EDM version of a Christmas song, haha.
My lore explanation for who carved the hot snowman is the spirit of her dead husband. Saw his wife was about to die of frost bite in their freezing cold house and decided it was time for drastic measures
Great vid as always. Not one to review but The Snowman (UK) is probably the best telling of the snowman coming to life and well worth a watch.
That is a beautiful sad story with gorgeous animation and music! Thank you for unlocking the memory! 😊
That has been a favorite Christmas/Winter special of mine since I was very small.
But it doesn’t have as many ladies lusting after that snowman.
Great call!
Dying at the part about the freakier snowmen coming to life.
6:59 it would have been a much more interesting setting if snowpeople coming to life was a regular occurrence lol
It would certainly explain why everyone seems to accept that he's a snowman and doesn't question it, atleast it sounds like that based on this review.
"It's Christmas." That genuinely made me crack up hearing her say that.
Any day you post is the immediate best day of my week because I know I'm in for something smart, punny, funny, and damned entertaining. So sorry you had so much pushback getting the video out there, but I'm so very glad you prevailed. ❤
Dustin with a body that chiseled at 39 🔥🔥🔥 wild! He worked hard!!
Ectomorphs have an easier time with that, not to say they don't have to still put in the effort.
Merry Christmas pushinguproses. I love your channel. I've been a fan for a long time. I just wanted to wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year .
Thank you for this. My ace group was talking about this and there's NO WAY I was going to watch it, but I was so curious!
Well this was a hell of a trip. Thank you, PUR. ❤️
It's Ted the veterinarian from Schitt's Creek! Hasn't seen that mentioned 100 times so I assume it hasn't been mentioned at all.
Its so nice to see your art showing up in these
I was SOOO hoping to hear from you about this movie!😂❤ excited!
I thought it was implied that the man from the older couple was once a snow man and the scarf brought him to life. In that case i like to think he was the sculptor, because he wanted a snow son. Also the town just knows this can happen lol
Ooohh, loved your video as usual! I... I actually think Ill give this one a try lol. I very much enjoy your videos and the podcast as well. Have you thought of doing a video on the Hallmark movie "Haul out the Holly"? I tried to watch it recently but couldn't get through it.
Gladly watching this a second time 😂 this movie concept is wild and I’m glad you drew my attention to it ❤
❤❤ was curious about this film tbh, thanks for the review
Thanks, Roses! Sorry for all the bullshit you had to go through on this one.
I grew up on Muppet Xmas, but also Emmit Otter's Jugband Christmas. It's slow and cheesy by today's standards, but I LOVED it when I was a kid, back in the stone age! LOL
YESSS! I was hoping you would cover this one!
speaking of Frosty the Snowman I have fond memories of watching a Newgrounds slasher parody of Frosty the Snowman called Snowy the Frostman it was absolutely brutal
Ah, a fellow muppet enjoyer, good taste.
Since it's the same background music as flustered, clearly it's the same universe.
i love that so many people are making videos on this masterpiece. my bff and i were crying.
Yeeeesss, I was hoping Roses would review this! Thank you!!! ❤❤❤
The law and order opener on the hot frosty logo had me laughing my ass off, good one roses
Commenting because I love your work!
Have been waiting for your take on this! 😂
We watched it this week and thought it was much better than it deserved to be with that concept.
Omg, my mom gave me her copy of John Denver and the Muppets and it’s a seasonal must 💖
I am always here for Lamp Watch!!!
New pushing up roses video???? My Friday just got a whole lot better
Hey! I remember Lauren Holly from "Down Periscope." She looks pretty darn good in this movie too!
Yes, my wife watched this a few weeks back... I must say this was one of the more tolerable ones over the years. The new one with the Full Monty/Magic Mike idea is also tolerable. Uuuugh, I can't believe I'm saying this!? I've obviously been desensitized and reprogramed.
Its not too late, you need some Dr. House and CSI Miami stat.
@@maximumrisk2004 I'm on a twice daily Breaking Bad gel, but I may need these additional supplements.
