If anyone wants to know of the hidden messages in this arc, it'll make their story even more beautiful ^ ^ Kokoriko is an advanced Gungi technique developed by Komugi that centers around isolating the King (as in the Gungi piece, not the Chimera Ant), separating it from the other pieces and killing it off. Just like Netero and the Hunters were planning to do to Meruem. However, Komugi unexpectedly develops a counter to this technique in the middle of a game, meaning that the King piece (representing Meruem) no longer has to die (since he unexpectedly survived the nuke). Then, later on, when Komugi uses Kokoriko again, she actually develops a counter to the counter ("she reversed my reversal???"), representing that the King piece (Meruem) apparently actually does have to die after all (because of the Rose's poison).
OMG I can't believe as big in history as I'm I didn't notice these scenes I didn't think I could love HxH more but it's these tiny details that really makes it a masterpiece
about games, exams, politics, biology, and a great mind. he showed incredible reasoning among actions and fights..... HXH is not like shows which just say a character has iq over 200 and that is all, togashi actually showed that without mentioning it
Lalit Singh Rana I agree with you all! After the ant arc, togashi, unlike many other mainstream anime, created this anime that does not limit to only strength and power... he put other factors such as ability, experience, fight settings... so that no matter how tough the enemy is, a weak opponent can win... just look at the ant arc netoro vs meurem!! Netoro chose the location and controlled the fight even though meurem was hella strong... this is why I really love this anime the possibility is limitless! They really need to air this anime once again
Also, in the opening of this arc, Netero stands on his left leg with his right leg across his lap and hides his left arm in his clothes, and he prays with only his right hand, which I think foreshadows him losing his right leg and left arm in his battle against Metuchen.
About point 5:also, when Morel is trapped inside cheetu's ability, while analizing the situaton he says something like "this place is about as large as a baseball pitch"; great video by the way :)
And Killua saying "Just meet!" when Gon lands that abdomen-punch on Rammot, sending the rabbit-abomination high into the sky ("Just meet!" is an exclamation in the Japanese language during a baseball game. Was translated as 'direct hit' in the CrunchyRoll subs)
The humans are worst part, was brilliant in the story, not only is it true, but it also explains why the ants were never a problem before now. Humans will continue to rule the ants just got lucky, and made it to this point and the only reason that happened is because the became like humans.
I thought the only reason the ants were never a problem before...is because they never existed outside of the...what do they call it? The Dark Continent? *1* queen by chance overcomes the tides and washes onshore in the human-populated area of the earth, and all hell breaks loose.
Themanhasnoname -singlemanreacts Shame on me, but minus that it still shows luck was on their side, and becoming more human like is what preserved them.
i dunnoe lol. I feel the meaning behind all this is like because the ants consumed "evil" humans they in turn became evil themselves, causing the natural selection thing to occur. Natural wild instincts + human's intelligence and need/want for war/violence is what caused the Chimera ants to go balls to the walls with this story lol I'm not too sure since it has been ages since i watched it but i think i recall Netero saying that Meruem would have been a great ruler but the humans did not approve of his existence or something. :x

Ricky Richardson That's definitely on my list of ideas. I'm going to read through the Viz translations of the Dark Continent since there's clearly a lot that was misinterpreted in the other scanslations I'm finding.
i went into this video expecting to know all this stuff (i'm a giant hunter x hunter nerd, lol) but pretty much all this stuff was completely new to me!! i knew the bits about netero and the buddhist references because i know a lot about buddhism, but other than that, it was all new info! i had never even thought about reina meaning "queen" even though i speak spanish, such a neat detail. and the kurama and kite comparison was genius. nice job! i love people that appreciate things they like deeply like this, you're got a new subscriber
The thing about the Vietnam photo in this video is that the guy being shot was actually a serial killer who had killed someone dear to the person pulling the trigger. It was not cold blooded murder, it was an execution for a crime. The shooter was actually a high ranking army officer
there's a scene early on in Netero vs Meruem where he strikes the ground with his 99th hand, which produces a bunch of dust. the silhouette of Netero's Hatsu can be seen, and it mirrors the appearance of an ant writhing.
I didn't know any of these and they were all very interestng! Thanks for doing this video, my favourite fact would honestly be either about the dots on the ants head or about Netero adn the sutras, they stood out as very well researched to me.

I love this so much. Hunter X Hunter is definitely one of my favorite anime's....sometimes I wish that it was real so I can take the hunter exams...... Though I would instantly die.
Also, one of the butler that was sent with Kiluwa on his mission to heal Gon, is “Amani” amani means literally “wishes” in Arabic. The choice of name was brilliant because Kilua’s sister kept making wishes and the whole theme was about wishes when that butler was introduced for the very first time.
Quality over quantity, exactly what this channel is all about. Spectacular job and keep these coming! P.S. You seriously need a personal acknowledgement from Togashi
I can't thank you enough for making this video! Wow About flipping time somebody mentioned that missing Gyro info besides me and a few others as a UA-cam comment, I swear

It is a common misconception brought out by the ordering of events in the anime version. Believe it or not, the comic readers thought that Gyro was Meleoron the chameleon (his human name "Jail" looked similar in pseudo-Japanese - Jeiru/Jairo)
TyphoonZebra Yes - that meant those were the components of his biological structure, as with every other chimera. It doesn't necessarily pertain to the human beings they might've been
At 10. It didn't mean humans are worse than chimera ants ,but ants in general. It's about how humans think of ants and bugs as lowly beings who should be stomped by them and that tought is part of what makes us worse than them, besides the way some humans harm others without caring about them.
+Zoan I don't know if they kill one another. Moet likely if they loose their smell. And indeed humans are better for having aspirations and feelings, but feeling joy or pleasure about killing anything is wrong.
Yeah, I was especially mad because if the queen had eaten him then he would have definitely been reborn. I mean if even random NGL thugs can get reborn then a Hunter like Pokkle should without a question.
Kite had an additional dosage of luck with his Nen ability...but I say it's not completely him. The redeemable/cool aspect I see in this though is the Jesus analogy, and the fact that this new vessel for his spirit is the younger sister of Meruem and the Royal Guards themselves
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! for extracting and presenting these juicy details from the depths if HxH. The end of our love for Togashi's work seems to be no where in sight!
Yeah yeah he's no Zeppeli of course But, at some point, he may be the final ant-agonist of the series itself (he turned into a Chimera Ant, and will eventually meet with Gon. The anime left that kinda-vital piece of info out)
Notice that Gon & Gyro were both abandoned by their fathers... As for Rammot's Nen-blade-feathers, perhaps they might've included it by fixing the scene in the BD/DVD release. If not, then oh well. (Resubmitting this comment here since I felt it carried the most weight)

I think another reference to the entire baseball thing was how one of the phantom troupe member's powers involves swinging his arm around like that of a batter in baseball.
There was one that I missed in the Chimera Ant Arc. When Morel is trapped in Cheatu's hatsu he notes that the area they're in is about the size of a baseball field. It's also noteworthy that Togashi wrote a baseball manga called Bottobai Straight.
And Killua saying "Just meet!" when Gon lands that abdomen-punch on Rammot, sending the rabbit-abomination high into the sky ("Just meet!" is an exclamation in the Japanese language during a baseball game. Was translated as 'direct hit' in the CrunchyRoll subs)

jack5001ful He pulled off the "restriction and covenant" stunt which Kurapika also did, to put it real simply. The further limitation he placed was to sacrifice the rest of his Nen and his life
This was interesting. However, I personally think that it would have been better if the things actually pertained to only what was in the show and not outside events and characters. It would have been interesting to see if anybody else noticed how Morel never did find his pipe after it was thrown off of the cliff. Or even how Komugi's persona and stigmas impacting Meruem in a way that gave him a new perspective on humans was actually what killed him and set off the chain reaction of events that led to the deaths of Pouf Pitou and Youpi. Komugi was the unsung hero. She defeated the king within his head without him realizing it. Hisoka determines the strength of another nen user with his own personal point system that is never explained. Kite doesn't use all of his weapon abilities. There's so many things that can be pointed out that stay within the boundaries of the show.
There is a celebratory baseball panel right around when Gon & Killua face off Rammot. Plus, Killua compliments Gon when he lands a hit on Rammot with Janken-guu (rock) out of the fields by saying, "Just meet! (jasuto mito, but translated as 'direct hit')," which is something else announced in a baseball game played in Japan
i always thought that killua was a pun for kilowatt since he seems to have a thing for electricity
Never thought about, but I still mostly see it as a "pun" for "kill" (because they are assassins).
Killua means lighting in japanese
PelicanProductions
… No, it isn’t. It has nothing to do with electricity whatsoever. In Japanese, Killua isn’t even a word.
Cucumber Cat

Kinda like how I thought Illumi was a play on Illuminati.

Crazy right? I'm going to start looking for more YYH and HxH comparisons and eventually turn that into a vid or two.

I only knew 6 and 7 because I've read the manga a lot , please do more of these they are amazing my mind is actually blown
Thank you! Plenty more to come, they just take a while to research and create but I'm trying to get one done every 2-3 weeks.
best hunterxhunter channel!
Who else wishes that nen ten hatsu and hunters and the hunter exam were real?
man this guy has the best theories
The last one blown me away I didn't realize that after I watched it like 3 times.
Wonderful job, there was quite a few things I missed. Well, except the most of the beggining and End. Though I only speculated about it myself.
There's so many things that can be pointed out that stay within the boundaries of the show.
your vids are so good keep it up dude you need more subs
Another great video man!
I love how HXH is so similar to YYH. I fell in love with both. Great job! This is great.
Same. YYH was the second anime that got me hooked (first was DBZ).
I've never watched DBZ before, so I wouldn't know.
It's pretty dated so I honestly can't recommend it nowadays. How you seen Hajime no Ippo? Now THAT is a great show that grabs your attention.
Dragon Ball is good, imo (not Z or Super, imo...ignore those)
another awesome video! great work!
I didn't know most of this, thank you :D
nice connection to yuyu Hakusho for kurama and kite.
Nice, I've watched several baseball anime but didn't know about that.
