jake is the beast, the asr is an implement. as long as he has been using it and with the aid of daws , its limitations arent really an issue. def a reason that thing is a classic though, ensoniq did a great job with it despite a few quirks. its dated but a sampling keyboard suits him and there is always a use for one. even the old toy sampling boards can be fun, the asr obviously can do much more.

I noticed that he doesn't take time in between laying tracks to mix the beats at the same time. I find myself after I've made a Beat going back and mixing it for some reason or even during making a beat I'll add a little compressor or I might EQ or I might brighten up a sound with EQ but I never see him do anything dealing with equalization. Maybe that messes up the production flow.
