  • After picking up my new 2022 refresh Tesla Model X I started to take a closer look to see if I can find any imperfections that needs to get fixed by Tesla.
    So in this video I took the Model X to Tesla Service Center for the issues to be looked at.

    It's actually a brilliant strategy by Tesla!
    We'll stick any complaining Model X customers in a 2018 Model X, make sure the 2018 is filthy... and a few days in that car, when they come back to pick up their "serviced" 2022 X, they'll be so impressed with the upgrades, they'll completely forget about all of their complaints!

    Hi! I watched your video. You are so kind to Tesla! I have a 2022 MXP I received on 08/16/2022. My husband was very unhappy with the exterior. Panel gaps and actual paint issues, like spurts of paint or on corners balls like it started to drip. I remember clearly when we received it the guy said to me that they are building them so fast in Fremont California that they are building them in the parking lot. My reply...."Don't be telling me that! Did they do it at night in the dark?" They corrected, within spec, many panel gaps. My husband was not happy and for the money paid (before the price dropped) we should have never received it. I think he didn't want to disappoint me as he sold me on it. He would not let them do any painting. He said it's not a new car once you touch up paint...all over. So they buffed. I think your panel gaps are even worse. . I too love my MXP, but not happy with Tesla allowing cars to go out in such poor quality. So disappointing, and we have a 2016 MS and a Cybertruck on order for years now.
    Would like to say, I think I had the same loaner car (in Austin Texas). Blue, think mine was a 2019? But I was appalled when you opened the doors on your video and saw how dirty it was. So, I now understand with mine, they just don't care. Most were getting Uber credits when I went in after receipt, now they don't even do that. But I so agree with the Refresh changes. I originally test drove prior to the Refresh model. And I liked it. After getting my 2022 I felt like the loaner felt like a Buick (no offense as we have had Buicks and they are good cars and if you haven't driven a refresh you wouldn't understand the difference). But, the quality was so much better before. Glad your service appt went well. I'm not a fan of Tesla treating customers the way they do. And your panel gaps are just not acceptable. I am now dealing with front row seat upholstery holes and peeling. I am the only one in my car, I am older, I have always taken impeccable care of my cars and never had any upholstery issues. So getting a bit frustrated with $140k and having to baby it because its so delicate.

    I replaced the 2018 Model X with the 2022 Model X last December. There were many problems with my new Model X, and most of them were fixed, but some problems are still ongoing. Actually, I have seen your previous video when you received Model X. I could notice the panel problem of your model X in the video. I think you are very generous with the quality of Tesla and their services. All your problems need to be corrected, and I believe in my experience that they can be corrected. You need to be more aggressive in asking Tesla for the services you deserve. I think Tesla Model X is getting worse in terms of quality control. Good luck to you.

      @@POGAuto That's good. I suggest that you need to ask Tesla to let a certified bodyshop fix the panel and door alignment issues. Tesla SCs do the body work but most of them are still not good at those works.

    It shocks me how much Tesla fans just let slide…..you think those panel gap alignment issues would be let go on a Porsche ? Hell to the no….and they shouldn’t……paying all that money for a car it should be as close to perfect as possible……

      Ya our model 3 was the best too. Only the tow hook cover had to be adjusted

    Thanks for sharing! But it's ridiculous that they gave you a dirty loaner. Also did he show you his Model X to compare.

      No they did not but if you watch the loaner review video I could fit my finger under the frunk without opening it thats how big the gap was for example. It was also not easy to get a loaner I had multiple text of Tesla service saying no loaner

    Seriously they didnt do a single thing. The alignments are so bad I would return it. Im afraid of what I will get in June.

      The falcon wing is now making rattle noise / damaging the door jam paint further it also failed to close couple times again. I booked another appointment. I now definitely think they need to align the panels

    Beware, We collected a new, Shanghai Model Y LR 23rd February 2022. Brilliant car, even better than our terrific but lethal in rain spray Model 3LR of 2 years, due to repeated emergency braking from 60-70mph - Tesla Tech are still working on a fix, except for .... the Hankook tyres on the Model YLR seem to crash on the road so hard, that deep bass, sound pressure waves reverberate throughout the cabin so harshly, that we get headaches from it. No parcel shelf provided either. Tesla Service, Nottingham (UK) said that "Yes, it is harsh to the ear but, as it is a characteristic of the car, there is nothing we are prepared to fix" We rejected the car, as is our right, via Tesla's UK finance partner, Black Horse, as Tesla won't deal any further with us directly. Black Horse have now taken a further 2 months, allocating the complaint to a legally trained, "Complaint Manager" who has admitted that he has "no knowledge or experience of Teslas" and got his "facts" wrong and has achieved absolutely nothing to assess this problem. This hasn't stopped him issuing a claim rejection letter to us. 3 months after buying it and 563 recorded miles, we can't drive our Model YLR without getting headaches & nausea.
    I am a chartered Mechanical Engineer with over 45 years in the motor trade. I have had problems with new vehicles before but, never anything as outrageously bad as this.
    Now submitted claim to UK Finance Ombudsman.
    If that doesn't produce a fair result, we will buy this awful vehicle out of the the appalling finance agreement and pursue our claim directly against Tesla.
    Major shame, as we are EV fans in general & Tesla in particular, with reservation on a Model X Plaid - no idea when that might appear though. Apart from of course, opening Superchargers to non-Tesla users, who block 2 bays to make cables reach. 😤🤯🤦‍♂🤦‍♂🤦‍♂🤷‍♂

    Thanks for the video, I have a model 3 coming in July! I’m inspecting the gaps in mine before taking delivery or accepting, if it’s not acceptable, then I’ll wait for the next one. There’s too many choices out there to spend that kind of money, and not be perfect.

    Don’t get me wrong I like Tesla I got lucky and found a 2015 model s 70d I bought for 25k with 45k from an elder dude that bought a newer one but the most I would pay for one is $30k, to me it makes no sense why people would pay more thank that with all this QC issues and software issues I know not all have them but most do and for the money you pay for them they are way better EVs and luxury cars out there with better QC heck my 2013 Fusion PHEV has 100% better QC and I got that for 6k the only advantage Tesla has is the efficiency and Supercharging network but for how long?

    Its like new employees assemble the model X, same bullshit I dealt with in 2018. They might fix one item, but guaranteed they will damage another.

    This is not good! I was quoted $130k for a new 2022/ 2023 Model X. That’s a shit-ton of money for a brand new vehicle that’s not put together well. Name me any other $130,000.00 new car that would come out of the factory looking like that with those issues? Where was it built China?

      I might need to book another appointment because the door is damaging the paint more and making click noises while driving it also failed to close couple times already. Panel gaps it really can be adjusted in my opinion. It seems like that day they only looked at the falcon wing issue.

    Is this a Typical Tesla Thing ? ... I watched a earlier video showcasing the modern technical leadership Tesla is showing in its cars. But the Guy showing off the New Tesla, Kept finding, What he kept calling Panel Gaps & (Mis)aliments. Some were Big enough as to wonder How it made it pass QC. & he still ending his video on a positive note. 🤷‍♂️

    There’s a reason that consumer reports lists tesla as the worst car for initial quality.
    I rode in an X a few months ago. Other than the electric drive to me it seemed like a cheap fleet rental car. Rattles, cheap materials, etc. certainly not up to the quality of my Mercedes E class
