Look for Form N-400 and then click on your closest field office. - egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/ 👍♥️ It will give you an estimated timeframe of when you can expect your interview *from when you first applied.* Check back often, as processing times change periodically. 👍
Also - we have been seeing much faster processing times than what is actually stated on the website, so it's difficult to say for sure. For example, our field office says 9.5 months, but we see most people go in around 4-5 months after application. It's faster if you get a notice that says they waived your biometrics appointment.

Can you answer this question for me ? I had my interview today I thought I had passed but the sheet he gave me check that I passed the English but he check a letter b that says (a decision cannot be made yet about your application what do you think that means?

Congratulations!! 🙌 🙌 Well done!! 👍 If you received Form N-652 at the end of your interview with the box checked, “You passed the tests of English and U.S. History and Government,” but also the box, “A decision cannot yet be made about your application,” please know that this result is quite common. It usually means the officer that conducted your interview needs to get the interview signed off by his/her supervisor. This often happens when the officer is new. As long as you didn't have any issues with eligibility or the N-400 application, ESPECIALLY in Part 12 (the "Have you EVER..." questions), AND as long as the officer did not ask you to send in any other documents or evidence (Request for Evidence RFE Form N-14), then you should be fine and hear back soon. If you don't hear back within a few weeks, please send a message directly through your online account using the “Inbox.” 👍 Keep us posted! ❤️

Please help me out here I lived in Texas and I’m applying from here but my family lives in Ohio and siblings in other states and I do have nieces and nephew, so do I have to put all of their information or not? If I do what questions do I have to be prepared for? I have big family.. I don’t know if I have ask and remember all of their birthdays?😢

You can file USCIS forms yourself, including Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, which can be submitted online. However, some people choose to seek assistance from a lawyer or Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR)-accredited representative.

Hi @godsson8035! I'm not sure what you mean by a combination interview. There are four parts to the N-400 Naturalization interview:
(1) Civics U.S. History test - 100 questions - 2008 version - Six out of ten questions correct to pass;
(2) English Reading test; and
(3) English Writing test; as well as the
(4) Full review of your N-400 application (Speaking and Understanding English).
*Most of the interview involves reviewing the answers you put on your N-400 application, especially Part 12. Review your application carefully, especially Part 12.*
You will need to successfully pass *all four parts* of the interview. If you fail any part of the interview, you will be invited back for a second chance. You will only need to re-take the part you did not pass though. 👍

Hi @rosrb6733. Probably not. Most interviewing officers do not ask for definitions anymore. USCIS has asked officers not to ask for definitions. We recommend that you go in prepared just in case. *Much of the interview is up to the discretion of the USCIS officer and your specific immigration case and history.* He or She will be checking your understanding of the N-400 application form and your ability to speak and understand English.
For Part 12, you don't need to memorize "dictionary" definitions. Just have a basic idea of what the words mean. For example, "claimed you were a citizen" means that you told someone you were a citizen but it was not true; genocide means to kill a lot of people; a weapon is a gun. Keep it simple. It is a good idea to have an immigration lawyer or an accredited BIA representative check your application BEFORE applying. When applying for any immigration benefit, non-citizens identify themselves to the government and invite scrutiny. USCIS will review your entire immigrant file - not just your N-400 application.
