I went on a disney cruise ship two weeks ago and as I am a teen, we got the chance to take over the oceaneer lab one night, and one of the people who worked there caught me taking pictures of the tables (the SEA logos mostly) and the pictures of Mary Oceaneer. so she stood up and went "c'mere" and I followed her to a room FILLED with SEA stuff, like the newspaper clippings of Hightower Hotels opening, a portrait of Henry and Albert, a portrait of all the SEA members, etc. I had such a field day taking pictures in there.
I would lose my mind. That is so cool!!!!!!
I wish I could see that, too bad I'm just past the age window to be allowed in there and would have to sell my liver just to afford the trip :(
Which ship?
Can u upload them to like imgur and post link here
If u read the book titles and authors in the secret library, you can find some weighted by SEA members. I only remember two written by Harrison Hightower lll. They were “MINE” and another was about Harrison’s involvement in Expedition Everest. THAT MEANS EXPEDITION EVERES IS PART OF THE CANON TOO!!!
I believe in Shanghai Disneyland, Adventure Isle is related to S.E.A. as well, having its own expedition group called the League of Adventurers. Mr. Whitmore from Atlantis: The Lost Empire funded both the expedition to Adventure Isle, but also one up Expedition Everest.
That’s so cool!!!
Mine is that song Radcliff sings when he traveled to America to find treasure.
Evilgidgit4Ever oh yeah I heard about that but I haven’t gotten to researching yet. (I mean I totally don’t do in-depth research on the SEA for fun) :)
is Neat. Coincidence or is their a meaning. Hmmmmm...
This is a great place. When I was here with my family I brought up the Sea as the waiter was by and she straight up leaned down to me and ask “How do you know about that. You’re far too young to be a member!” One of the best dining experiences I’ve had at Disney.
Skipper Canteen is easily the best restaurant in Magic Kingdom. It’s the best themed, even better than Be Our Guest and Cinderella’s Royal Table. Also the food is so damn good. It’s surprisingly ambitious for a Magic Kingdom restaurant and the variety is much appreciated. I almost never order three courses at table service restaurants, but I could not get enough of the place. Also, our waitress was absolutely fantastic. It’s such an underrated restaurant and I can’t recommend it enough!
I know a lot of people are loathing the eventual Jungle Cruise live action movie and the possibility of yet another cinematic universe deal, but for me I am all about it and hope it does end up being a big success. Love the Society of Explorer stuff!!!
This gives off such a Lemony Snickett VFD vibe, am I right? I love these videos!!
There's a lot more around that board that you've missed. For example there is a flyer advertising a seminar featuring one Dr. Henry (Indiana) Jones. Also the Skipper of the Year award. That's brand new and feature actual Skippers who work at the Jungle Cruise and the Canteen. Also that bookcase as a ton of easter eggs.
I swear I spent 10-15 min. Just looking at the book titles alone. Some of them are very funny and others allude to attractions and Disney movies. Huge fan of the backside of menu as well 😂
I recently found out that there's a book on the bookshelf titled Everest Expedition: Search for the Yeti and it's written by Harrison Hightower III.
So not only this is a reference to Joe Rhode (who Hightower is based on) and the Expedition Everest attraction at Animal Kingdom but apparently Expedition Everest is considered canon in the Society's continuity.
@@burneyboys02 that is incredible! Thank you for sharing. I love the “SEA” canon
"Think of it like Amazon... in the Amazon." - Brilliant and shrewd. Hats off, my man!
I knew I saw you in Magic Kingdom last week! I wanted to say hi, but was nervous about being wrong.
Sea is awesome. I really hope they keep it up
Hey Bryce
The jungle Cruise movie better be good
And be SEA canon
The books in the bookcase reference SEA members and other Disney attractions. This includes Albert Awol, who hosts the queque music for the jungle cruise.
I could spend an hour just looking at that wall. Unfortunately, it’s in a narrow passageway so I could only spend a few seconds at a time without getting in someone’s way
I ate at the Skipper Canteen and EVERYTHING was GREAT!
Your SEA videos are some of my favorite of yours, and I always get excited when I see that you've made a new one!!
Skipper Canteen was my favorite table service when I was on my DCP. Best place with some of the best food and it’s a not so hidden gem since not a lot of people would go when I was there a lot. Also, all of the doors across from Alberta Falls’ office reference the names of the key imagineers who had a hand in making the Jungle Cruise a reality!
I love Skipper Canteen. Always amazing to relax on the two chairs in the "balcony" and people watching while waiting for our table ! And I love hearing the people talking on the second floor :D
After checking out the IMDB page for the movie (Jungle Cruise), there are listings of some of the actors with titles of "Society Member". They are really working this slowly into a bigger story
A strange man mumbling junior passes the Disney detective a piece of paper "The tiki room holds the secrets"
Absolutely LOVE the Skipper Canteen, and always eat in the SEA room. I love these kind of backstories which tie attractions together and give a whole new level to the experience. Whilst SEA is totally my favourite of these stories, the whole Dinoland story is brilliant, and I always feel touched when I look at the first dollar that Chester and Hester ever earned from their gas station...
We’re eating at the skipper canteen on our trip in April! I’m so excited, the theming looks amazing, and the food sounds so good! The jungle cruise is one of my favorite rides, so looking forward to it!
I really loved how they recently incorporated the S.A.E in tropical hideaway at Disneyland.
Great food, great ambiance, and a must do for us, every chance we get.
I've seen some interesting pictures of the Miss Adventure Falls (that Mary Oceaneer ride in Typhoon Lagoon) that show that it makes references to Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Which is really cool, because Disney doesn't talk about that movie enough (or at all), and Whitmore and (probably both) Thatch's are like 200% SEA material. In attitude and time period.
Also I don't think it's proven in any way whatsoever, but I betcha Scrooge McDuck is a member of SEA too.
We got to eat in the SEA room at the Skipper Canteen. Food was fantastic and I spent a good majority of our team there swiveling my head back and forth to take in everything that was in the room!
Skipper canteen has amazing food!! My family and I eat there almost every time we go, there is a very rich “vibe” there and the jokes to me are hilarious
I need to go there next time I visit the Magic Kingdom. I was once but an ignorant tourist last time I went, Now I'll have to go there to see all the society stuff.
The food was absolutely delicious and the servers were as witty and charming as ever! I unfortunately didn't know about the SEA until after I had eaten there... now I have to go back and look for all of these Easter Eggs!
I haven’t been to any Disney park in six years! I’ve been using your videos as a way to feel like I’m there.
Oh I love the S.E.A. Members. There are so many more secrets in the restaurant. The bookcase alone kept me busy. Keep it up. Ty for sharing ✌️❤️
Offhand Disney: What did you think of the food but more importantly-
Me: I’m gonna stop you right there
I ate at that restaurant when I went! It was pouring rain around lunch time so my dad and I decided to eat there. That place was amazing and wish I could've seen it all in more detail
I was a couple of parties behind you in line at the PhotoPass photographer at the Tangled toilets.
I hope that you enjoyed After Hours!
I just love how Disney developed a story based off the rides. It’s an amazing universe
I love this video series! I'd really love to see an in depth video about the Adventurers Club, and how each of those characters were tied into SEA.
I was just there in January and sat at the table under the S.E.A. Crest at 1:04! I saw it and thought about you and your channel👍
There is such amazing potential for a SEA movie. Like, it has all the groundwork to not just make a fantastic adventure movie, but an absolutely thrilling series of films all connected to one another.
Disney, if you're looking for some ideas for that, I'm your guy.
It need to be a TV series on Disney +. Each season doing a story on each member
I just heard that there is going to be a SEA movie
I love the Canteen! I really loved the SEA references around the restaurant. I made sure to walk around while I was there. I really enjoyed my meal as well! Best dessert I had on my trip!
This gets me hyped for The Tropical Hideaway to open.
So I carefully scoured every book in the cases when I went to the canteen and here are all the cool easter eggs I found;
Charting course - by Mary oceaneer
A manor of fact- By Henry Mystic
FUZNEWD PDMWH CHF JD U- By Albert the monkey
Eyes of Mara- by Jones
Seeking knowledge- by Mara
Another newyear- By M.A. Pleasure
Rockeffeller, Hippo, Pet, Family- By Albert Falls
Myths of the supernatural- by Gracey
Parrots as pets- Mary Oceaneer
MINE!- by George Hightower
also, in the lost and found theres a box that says 'LIVE SNAKE on it with 'Jock Lindsey' written on it
Good for Albert the Monkey on getting published! 😊
I love this stuff. Thanks for doing the digging.
WHY WASN'T I HERE WHEN YOU UPLOADED THIS. THIS IS A CRIME AGAINST A BEAUTIFUL CHANNEL.
"JOE WERE'S THE SACRIFICE KNIFE"
Great video btw
I think it's on loan right now
We truly live in a society
This is Mitch from bell services at the beach club! It was nice to meet you!
YES!!! These are my favorite videos (about sea)
Did you see the hats in the bookshelves? They all belong to SEA members. My favorites belonged to Henry Mystic and Albert. I ate in the SEA room after seeing your videos and it was the best meal I've had in the Magic Kingdom by far. Sankuru Sadie's Seafood Stew is incredible. Thanks for the tip!
I love the skipper canteen! I went w my fam and boyfriend and we spent a good chunk of time just reading the fake books on the shelf, lots of references lol
I've eaten there several times and every time i go, I find more easter eggs. It's awesome. But may I just say, the kungaloosh is amazing.
Well done! Delightful video (as always).
The Revenge of the Headless Horseman maze at Tokyo Disneyland in 2011 told the story of a member of an adventures club (hint hint) who claimed to have found the head of the headless horseman and decided to prevent it in a sideshow exhibit but this provoked The Headless Horseman's Wrath. Everything goes horribly wrong, when he takes umbrage at all the other Carnival Acts. Evidence that this is the same Club is in "Disney Parks Haunted Mazes" video on youtube. I'd love to see a video introducing this member.
Lord Henry mystic named his money after his uncle, Albert. Albert falls. Anybody seeing a connection?
Is Jean Lafitte the owner of Skipper Canteen? I bet he owns the backside of water as well. He doesn't want anyone to know about it so that's why he's nowhere to be seen at Magic Kingdom
Maybe
If so, by joining up the Easter eggs, this could mean that Indiana Jones takes place in the same universe as Pirates of the Caribbean.
OMG. Those maccaw/Tiki room bird lamps you can see in the reflection at 1:27 ... i need to find/buy/make those!!!
after seeing the tiki room connection in this restaurant....i wonder what backstory there is with the enchanted tiki room! how did the statues/pillars become sentient? it reminds me of the cursed idol(?) story from the tower of terror. if the gods are angered by all the celebrating, is that reminiscent of another curse? a connected curse? who found the tiki room? how did it get enchanted? OR did someone collect all these enchanted pieces and put them all in a room, making the room enchanted by proxy? SEA IS SO EXCITING THIS IS MY NEW FAVORITE THEORY
They're all in the same universe. I mean, they're all in the same land, right? Thanks for the videos!!! 🐊🐊🐊
I sat in the SEA room of skippers canteen on my 18th birthday... Did you notice the Fee collection right by the entrance? They're all labeled with members names. It was really empty when I went so I got a bunch of amazing pictures
Of course the tiki room + tropical hideaway are a canconical part of the Jungle Cruise storylines because of the newly added “Rosita” character in the tropical hideaway. Rosita is a former part of the glee club in the tiki room (she would’ve appeared on the bird-mobile during “Let’s All Sing Like the Birdies Sing) And has now decided to travel the world. How will she do that? By taking the jungle cruise, of course! How else would a bird travel? (lol) All jokes aside, Rosita connects the world of the Tiki room with the Jungle Cruise, and ultimately the Society of Explorers and Adventurers and Zoologists ECT. I think Rosita is a wonderful example of how imagineers can continue their stories, and connect ones they’ve already told together. It’s really fascinating to think about.
I’m literally visiting wdw a month from now I am WAY excited
You for sure need to go to Disney World and ride the Jungle Cruise and ask for Skipper Madison!!! She's the best skipper!
i love the skipper canteen so much. i was wondering if anyone else was gonna point out that tiki room paper on the bulletin board. there's also a lot of references if you look at the book titles in the book cases. [if i remember clearly there's references to if you had wings and the matterhorn and orange bird]
Tropical Hideaway in DLR has canoe paddles hanging in the wall with the names of the members of the SEA
I ate there a few weeks ago and it was awesome! We sat in the butterfly display case round booth in the secret room. My souvenir mug is used daily now. and the char siu pork is divine. Definitely worth a try!
One of my family's friends is head of restaurant delivery and did alot of work on skipper canteen. Next time I see her I'll ask if she knows anything
yo the food is so good alr so the theming makes it 1000x better of an experience
Omg I was just there too! And I went to the restaurant! That’s sooo cool and I thought the food was good
My favorite restaurant at WDW. Also just overall the best. Was there a few days ago lol
I was there the day of filming, DAMNIT
So I was thinking... that if they incorporated Henry Ravenswood, the former owner of Phantom Manor at DLP, into SEA? He could have been a part of the society until he found gold in the little town of Thunder Mesa where he would settle and build himself a mansion after a mysterious or possibly aggressive departure from the society. Just a thought.
My favorites SEA references are at Disneyland. The picture of Albert the Monkey and Lord Mystic's photo on the table with Hepburn and Bogart from The African Queen movie and Henry Jones Jr. with Jock and Dr. Falls sitting on rocks by a river. Both are in Bengal BBQ. One in the super short hallway between dining areas and the other by the green desk in the corner. Also sometimes the book in the Jungle Cruise ticket office will be opened up to a sign in sheet of SEA members. Cast members do change it though. Then all of the oars in the Tropical Hideaway and the Loud Bangh sign in Frontierland. Kugaloosh!!! I had a CM tell me about a possible special event to ride the Jungle Cruise with a SEA member! It has been on hold for a while though... Maybe after the new Duane "Disney"Johnson movie?
Imagine being an explorer and finally settling someone and then just live in a theme park.
They way to the restroom is always important.
Having ghosts, enchanted artifacts, intelligent and sometimes talking animals, and misadventures galore all in the same universe as well as being connected by Disney is somehow not even remotely surprising
For more clues, I guess we'll have to wait and... find out.
OH MY GOD IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS CHANNEL FOR A MF WEEK I FINALLY FOUND IT AAAAH
OMG! I do really love the Disney Park Canon story!!!!!
Ah! Miss opportunity you had on of the most knowledgeable cast members that knows about SEA and the Adventures Club right next to you! He’s a wealth of knowledge when it comes to this!
Many Cast Members will tell you the history if you go around the slower lunch times.
I don't think that this has been mentioned before, but there's a SEA reference on Disney Cruise Line! In the Oceaneer's Lab (on at least the Disney Dream, not sure about the other ships), the digital wallpaper for the space's TV screens shows various pans of close ups of a map of the world (when the screens aren't in use playing a movie or show-specific content). There is a SEA seal on the map that's visible in some of the shots! Strangely, the seal isn't present on the print of the map hanging in the space... I wonder how this will play into the larger SEA narrative. Thoughts? Future video topic? Reason to take a DCL Cruise? Who knows!?!
The society is also connected to Typhoon Lagoon's Miss Adventure Falls attraction.
I personally liked the holiday decorations in the main mess hall
I ate at the Skipper Canteen on my last Disney trip and it was awesome!!
I’m so used to hearing Walt’s speech now.
Why did I find you a week after getting back from disney world?! Do any parks have SEA merch?
I'm just waiting to see how they incorporate Fantasyland.
The new Soarin in tokyo disney sea (as far as i can see in the videos) looks to be part of the SEA society too
YES! YES! YES! I love these.
Thanks for getting back to me....
Another member is mentioned in the tales of the haunted Mansion book vol 4 momento Mori in also mentions the owner of the mystic manor
Oh, and the bookcase to the SEA room is opened by tipping one of the books back. Its still tipped back (because the door is permanently open, of course!). For those who’ve never been, can you guess which book it is?
That restaurant was sooooo good
Who thinks there should be a society of explorers and adventurers movie?
Is Albert the Monkey named after Albert Falls? You know Henry Mystic wanted to honour or remember his old friend.
Also... If Indiana Jones is part of this universe then star wars is as well (I remember C3PO and R2D2 appear as hieroglyphs)?
Also, is the Fortress in Disney Sea their HQ or training center? It really feels like a place to train new members (dejiki.com/2013/08/tokyo-disneysea-fortress-explorations/. Not my post but they have pictures including the motto of S.E.A.)
Do a video on unofficial disney festivals like dapper day and stuff.
Oh you mean my favorite 3 videos of you? Yeah, I remember them.
i am so mad at myself because i definitely saw you at the UK pavillion and we had awkward eye contact but i forgot your name (and i was waiting for alice in wonderland) and i'm so pissed cuz i really wanted a picture with you :(
I looked on a Disney wiki about SEA and it said there was another member that had to do with the Soarin ride at DisneySea
In pixar's up the opening scene Carl is watching a new footage of Muntz finding a skeleton of a bird in paradise falls it turns out it was a fake so he was kicked out of a society. Maybe it was sea
This gives me high hopes for the Jungle Cruise movie
I'm just going to guess that everything within the Disney parks is canon with each other including S.E.A everything exists at the same time because it's a magic kingdom.
Captain Rowan D. Falls is one of the Melanie Ravenwood's suitors killed in the revised storyline of Phantom Manor. Is it possible that Captain Rowan D. Falls is related to Dr Albert Falls? Tying Phantom Manor into the SEA connected universe?
Yes!
Well, I’m going to make a point to go to this restaurant.
Have you seen the great wall of china? Isn't is just great?
"Explorers, believe it or not..."
