- OZZY OSBOURNE Announces NEW BOX SET See You On The Other Side 2.0 | NOT WORTH IT? (VINYL COMMUNITY)
ozzy osbourne new box set
"The CD Guy" Johnny Z shares everything you need to know about the upcoming #ozzyosbourne reissue of the #seeyouontheotherside #boxset. Is this boxset from the #metal legend worth it? Will the #vinylcommunity be buying this new Ozzy LP boxset? Let me know below!
Missed out on the first box set, happy about Vol. 2, order placed.
Enjoy your copy! I never said it wasn’t a cool boxset 🤘
I missed out as well. You can’t even buy the box it comes in for 200 bucks. The 2019 versions are way more expensive. Just what I see.
This is for the die hard fans that missed out on the first version. Like me.
Hope you’re able to pick this one up!
Will you be purchasing this reissued boxset? It seems to me like it's weaker than the original from 2019... if you bought the 2019 version, let me know which edition you think is stronger down below!
No, thanks. There is nothing new here other than the new albums which I already have. Additionally, I want boxsets for the music, not posters, etc. If there were things like unreleased live albums, etc., then I would be interested. This is just overpriced and not worthwhile to me. The 2019 version is better to me because of the flexi and the coloured vinyl. I don't have either boxset, but I have all the original albums, so there isn't anything I'm missing by passing these up.
@LauraKnotek Agreed 💯
We think very alike lol
Preordered as soon as announced.
Enjoy your copy!
It’s probably worth remembering that there were a lot of people who missed it the first time round. This will be very welcome news for them. It’s actually excellent value. I’ve got the first one, and I absolutely love it.
It’s a cool release for sure. Good point about those who missed it the first time. I’m not sure why it’s $100 more expensive this time and limited to 2000 tho.
The 2019 version goes for up to $3,000.00 right now, $600 is what is gonna have to be paid, since it’s personalized by Ozzy and he ain’t gonna be around much longer, talk about a priceless piece 😎🤘
$3000 is obscene! Nobody should be paying that much. I have very strong doubts that Ozzy actually sighed 2000 of these.
I think you shouldn't be doubting ozzys credibility. If your a true fan you'd be more respectful dude..
No thanks.... Great vid❤❤
Thanks! I'll passing on this too!
Awesome review.
Thank you! 🤘
I geting i had the compleat albums on cd but got lost so this is great got a record player can not wait for it i love box sets
Hope you enjoy!
Hell yes, I'll get it. The people on ebay are pissed they can't get $1,000 for it now. Try to get the 2019 version now. Good luck getting one for under $1,000. Yes, it wilk be Ozzys signature. My grandfather has Parkinsons. He just has to take his time and do things in batches.
Enjoy your copy! eBay is the worst place to buy stuff like this… prices are always overinflated there
It's good to say "I'd choose the 2019 version", but in reality, if you weren't fortunate enough to get a copy this is a great way to get the box with 2 extra albums. Personally, I'd prefer black vinyl over colored all day long, and could care less about the flexi-disc.
I guess it comes down to whether you want it at all. For people who want to buy it and can afford it, more power to them.
@harpermotorsports16 totally agree, for me personally black always and he forgot to mention only 2000 units made AND i personally don't like the fact that he's doubting ozzys honesty, he loves his fans, this release isn't due till march... plenty of time for him to sign.. don't like when some fans start this shit
@@Music4thsoul not to mention that if you want the original release you can't find it now for under $2000! 😒
$33.3333 per album with the other stuff thrown in for free or $20 per item included - 30 items total, are posters worth 20 bucks? is a slipmat worth 20 bucks? Is an OZZY autograph worth 20 bucks? It doesn't seem super outrageous, stuff is expensive these days. A standard pressing of Ordinary Man is $27, on it's own...do the math....at that rate, you're paying $486 for the 18 albums and $114 for 10 posters, a slipmat and the OZZY autographed certificate of authenticity. Doesn't seem super outrageous when you put it that way. Have you seen how much vinyl is these days? It's not $20 an album like it used to be. Maybe if they were special pressings like splatter or marble printing, it would make it a better deal.
The math adds up and I absolutely see your point. It’s a lot of money to ask when it’s a lesser reissue of something that they put out years ago. I doubt that autograph is legit… Ozzy can’t sign 2000 of them with his Parkinson’s. Vinyl has been down 33% this year, I think a large part of that is due to how expensive physical media is becoming.
And how many times has these albums been sold over and over and over and over and over and over.... cashgrab deluxe.
@rabarebra I think you should do your home work on that comment buddy
@@TheCDGuyJZ of course the autograph is legit! Ozzy dind´t signed all 2000 on one day. He surely had weeks or months to sign all of them!
I was actually expecting it to be more than $600 lol
Me too lol
Prices are nuts... it's like you can choose to buy the boxset or buy a lawnmower for the same price lol
Your shirt is very nice!!!🤘 Motorhead!🤘
Thanks! 🤘
When's Sharon not making a quick buck huh? anyway here's my ideal die-hard Black Sabbath box set:
1.) Black Sabbath
2.) Paranoid
3.) Master of Reality
4.) Vol. 4
5.) Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
6.) Sabotage
7.) Technical Ecstasy
8.) Never Say Die!
9.) Heaven and Hell
10.) Mob Rules
11.) Born Again
12.) Seventh Star
13.) The Eternal Idol
14.) Headless Cross
15.) Tyr
16.) Dehumanizer
17.) Cross Purposes
18.) Forbidden
19.) The Devil You Know
20.) 13
Bonus:
The Eternal Idol Ray Gillan sessions
Dehumanizer demos + Tony Martin sessions
2001 sessions
13 B-sides + The End
Live at Last/Past Lives
Live at Hammersmith Odeon
Live Evil
Cross Purposes - Live
Reunion
Live from Radio City Music Hall
Neon Nights: 30 Years of Heaven & Hell
Live... Gathered in Their Masses
The End - 4th February 2017 Birmingham
Might be missing something but 30+ discs sounds enough.
This would be a monstrosity of a boxset! This might legitimately be worth around $1000 for all of this inventory. I'm really hoping we get a reissue and brand new mix for Born Again next... that's one reissue I would 100% support.
I'm happy with my 1995 remastered CDs of the 1980-93 catalogue.
Same! I'm good with what I have. I would like pick up that rarities CD tho...hopefully it's available separately one day.
@@TheCDGuyJZ Yes, if rarities gets a separate release I'd buy it. Looks interesting!
@@Skycladatdusk78 I have all of the albums already (Most on both CD and vinyl) so that's the only thing here that really interest me personally.
Compared to the cost of the 2019 version now it’s definitely more reasonable than the $1000-$1500 discogs price. Doesn’t bother me too much that it’s not colored vinyl. In my experience if I buy a colored and black pressing of the exact same album they sound the same, but the colored vinyl tends to have more surface noise. Enjoyed the video though. 👍
I should have checked Discogs… that price is overinflated compared to what it sold for in 2019. That’s a really good point about black vs. colored vinyl.
The 2019 now sells for $2-3000 so getting a reissue for $600 is a steal. Especially if you missed out on the 2019
I was interested in the new box set until I saw your comparison of the 2019 and the new reissue. Thank you.
Glad I could help!
Do these include the long since deleted/out of print Bob Daisley recorded versions or the re-recorded Rob Trujillo versions?
I checked the Ozzy store, Discogs and Amazon… I can’t find an answer to that. I’d imagine it’s the Rob version… I doubt Sharon wants to pay Bob Daisley a penny.
It would be nice for someone who doesn't have any Ozzy alumbs and has deep pockets. Sometimes, I feel music, even metal music, has lost it way for the fans. It seems it's more about making a buck than the rebellion and good times that we feel in love with. Back in the day, I could take 20 bucks and buy a record or cd (sometimes both if they were in the cutout bin). These days, it has become a monthly payment to own a piece of music history. Don't get wrong, I know bands got to make money to keep going, but wouldn't it be better to release stuff that fans can afford and sell more of it. I don't know it seems like some bands have become what they use to write about in their music.
It’s absolutely all about making money now. That’s not just the Metal scene, the entire music business has shifted away from giving the fans what they want and instead focuses on making as much money as possible. The amount of overpriced boxsets, reissues and posthumous releases this year is absurd, and feels like a cash grab 90% of the time.
I just need the Down to Earth and ozzmossis reissues when they ever get released. Would love to have live and loud 3 record set too but not essential. I passed on the first one and ended up buying individuals of scream for me and black rain. Wont be getting this one either.
I’d say you’re probably better off getting the individuals for a much better price since you already have most of the albums. I’m gonna pass on this one too.
It sounds like theyre following the KISS blueprint of how to rip-off your loyal fans
Sharon read the blueprint and built a mansion with it lol
@TheCDGuyJZ damn right she did!
Bullshit
Sharon needs a new facelift. Simply a money grab. Ozzy’s now become a joke. What a shame. 😕
A new facelift 😂😂😂. We all thought it was…but you said it ….
I would buy the 2.0 because I have never bought a box set of Ozzys at all. But then The CD guy just said 600 so I will just buy a couple of CDs like Live and Loud. I don't have that one. Got a few others.
You’re much better off buying the albums you want individually IMO
The biggest crime here is probably yet to come… they’ll be charging the same price for individual deluxe reissues of these records in the years to come. It’s inevitable considering so many other bands are doing it too.
@@TheCDGuyJZ cool, thanks.. I do have a few CDs already. Probably buy a few more. Thanks for the review. Saved me time and money.
@zaz4667 Happy to help!
Black vinyl is better. And you get 2 full new albums? Hmm
Just my opinion comparing the two. But if anyone prefers the new version, that’s cool too
Be better if they just did a separate reissue of Ozzmosis, Scream and Down To Earth on vinyl. I already have all his other albums.
They’ll end up reissuing those albums eventually on their own for sure.
The commercial alone warranted this release... that said I cannot afford $600 at this time so won't he picking it up personally
That commercial is amazing... I don't want L.O.P.O.D. lol Zakk Wylde is the man!
@@TheCDGuyJZ L.O.P.O.D. would be a damn good band name, Zakk's next side project maybe?
@@Swullmark The busiest man in Metal! I'd go see it live!
did you get ticket for King Diamond might be sold out though
I haven’t. The closest he’s playing is a little out of the way for me. I’d still love to go tho
It's basically 3 extra lps . Sorry, not worth the money. Also, is it really signed by Ozzy? Does anyone remember the autopen debacle with the ordinarily man album?
After what happened with Ordinary Man, and Ozzy's Parkinson's, I doubt he actually signed 2000 of these.
@@TheCDGuyJZ exactly
Done a similar thing with Motörheads Bomber, 45th anniversary of a handful of Demos that we’ll get somewhere somehow in the potential future.
Just a cash grab, take no notice.
The Motorhead posthumous releases are starting to get out of control too. It’s like they’re trying to milk Lemmy’s legacy for every last cent.
Why is there no cd version?
Not sure. CD boxsets are usually listed at roughly $100 cheaper than vinyl boxsets too.
Cash Grab tonight he got induced into the RNR Hall Of Fame so why not reissue this the day before
That's a good point. Glad Ozzy finally got inducted, although the Hall means nothing to me anymore.
@TheCDGuyJZ dude you need to stop being so negative, cash grab, he probs not personally signing them, RRHOF means nothing. No 1 don't drag his name down, no 2 if you don't like vinyls as your name has CDGuy don't buy it. It's a great value box set
I just wish the posters were of the album covers and not pics of ozzy...
I would like them to reissue the 80's albums individually especially Ultimate Sin. I will pass on this box set. It's getting old with all these artists and their mega box sets.
It’s getting old for sure. They probably will get around to individual reissues for all of these albums at some point
Not arguing really, but can you still get the 2019 version for $500?
Im not sure how much it’s selling for now. The price should have gone down since then. $500 is still too much tbh
$1500-2000 is the price of 2019 box set
This is nothing to the cost of KISS box sets.
That’s true… the new Destroyer reissue is $1000
@@TheCDGuyJZ And thats just for one (1) album and its relayed items.
A limited run of 2,000 copies will make it a collectible item.
Probably for now, but what happens if they reissue it again in five years for a cash grab?
@TheCDGuyJZ When your box says limited by 2000 copies and has Ozzy's signature I assume a reissue will not affect its value.
You are missing the point. This is a limited edition box set. There is a demand in the market and a lot of fans wanting to buy it is a simple as that
Is there a demand for this? If so, than I’m wrong, but the demand for vinyl across the board has been down this year by 33%
@@TheCDGuyJZ this new box set is already sold out everywhere, so yes, there's demand
Autograph helps and some fans didn't get the original plus some fans will want both
If fans are willing to pay this much, then I hope they enjoy
There is no way in hell am i buying into this madness of spending hundreds of dollars for a box set. And it wont stop intel we all stop paying these ridiculous prices for them. When they don't sell than prices will drop, just like all the people that spend $25 -$45 for one album thats nuts. Quit buying them and the price will go down. Thats why for me when buying physical music media i stick with the cds they are cheaper and you get more bang for your buck.
Agreed totally. I’ll keep making videos about these prices until they drop… which probably won’t be for a while tho. I think the vinyl resurgence is starting to lose its luster… perhaps that will lower prices.
Three lps that weren't in the other set? Hard pass.
The two studio albums hadn't been released yet in 2019. I just don't understand updating an album collection boxset at these prices after just five years.
It’s a money grab
Sharon needs a new face. 💰💰
@@TheCDGuyJZ lol and a new body
Lifelong Ozzy fan..... already have the discography. Pass.
Same 💯
I have the 2019 box set. Worth $1000 minimum of anyone’s money
I just think that’s too much for any boxset. That’s crazy resale value
Its already sold out people.
2000 copies were bound to go fast for those who wanted this
