    This made me look up what Forrest Gump's distance was. Turns out his hypothetical journey was over 15,000km, with roughly 5 legs across the US. Hi HAI! Can you do a video about the logistics of holding a big marathon? I ran the Chicago Marathon last year and the sheer number of people that take to the streets for 3-6 hours is absolutely insane. NY is the biggest with ~50k runners. It seems like a LOOOOT of work needs to be done to effectively shut down an entire city so some people can tire themselves out, but I’d like to know the exact amount of work required. Not sure if this is something you would do, or if it would be better suited for that handsome guy at Wendover.

      If you're going to poison your boss' coffee, you should go the full "9 to 5" route and also hunt him like a deer, and hog-tie him and roast him over a fire as well!

    This footrace will lead you to question why it had ever existed. I couldn't imagine doing this for longer periods of time. It's fascinating to learn more about history. The fact that this is detailed and in-depth makes this all the more interesting.

    So basically you can walk everyday for the entire 18 hours per day and eat while you walk. At a rate of 3.2 mph x 18 hour gets you 59.4 miles x 52 days 3088 miles so run that last little bit on the last day.

    Uh, if the average distance needed per day is 96km and you spend 18 hours per day running that would make the average speed needed be just over 5kmh (3.2mph), which is almost exactly the average preferred walking pace... Sounds very strange.

    • @activatedcharcoal
      @activatedcharcoal Рік тому +3

      18 hours is just the stop and start time- as they mentioned in the video the runners make rest stops throughout the day to eat, use the bathroom, change shoes, etc.

    • @Eagle3302PL
      @Eagle3302PL Рік тому

      @@activatedcharcoal Assuming you eat and drink while walking, walk a bit above the average speed and take only a few 5min bathroom breaks per day, you could walk the entire distance. It's on a flat hard surface, almost ideal for walking.
