I've been a proud HIM fan for twelve years and have never heard Ville's voice like this. It's almost ashy, yet still silky smooth. Fucking brilliant. He's almost whispering through the verses. There'll never be another Ville Valo. Let's all appreciate this man's talent while we can.
I've been a proud fan for 18 years now. Though probably more like 21 years as I fell in love with them from Bam featuring them in the old CKY skate videos. Though admittedly, I didn't heavily get into them until 2003 - 2004 when razorblade romance was released in the United States. We carried it at Hot Topic where I was a manager from 1998-2006. I put our in store play copy in the CD and loved every single song, I was obsessed. It was also crazy coz I had previously dated a guy who looked like Ville Valo (but sadly he turned out to be a basket of crazy). He kinda became extended family after we broke up though and when my mom first spotted a HIM postcard with Ville's photo my mom saw it and freaked about how it looked just like him! I'm so glad I got to see HiM several times in the early 2000s. As a vocalist myself, and a smoker, I'm still blown away how absolutely perfect Ville sounded live WHILE chain smoking on stage! Blew my mind!
@Nai Driftlin are you from Washington state? Aiden was local here, I thought. I know they blew up, but I never really got into them myself. I just knew kids that grew up with them. I never really got into much emo type bands. A few here and there. But I was already an older goth/ punk and had my favorite dark & moody tunes cemented deep on. Plus being my early 20s in 2000-2005, I was still kinda a music snob, remnants from my teen angst years.

I don't like 'manipulating lonely women into buying your records' part, but I love their music so much, it's so good it doesn't even matter which lyrics are genuine and which ones are kinda mockery of the whole thing. They inspire me to play music myself

My first ever concert was him and Aiden I think it was 2006. His voice was gorgeous. Ville has too much talent for this world. Hell they all do.
