Dr. R. K.Panda , Chairman of GLOBAL PEACE FOUNDATION -- I fully agree with the statements of Prof. David on formation of Global Govt..The current scenerio of global peace is ravaged by abuse of science and technology, fear of terrorism, threat of nuclear war, production of weapons for mass destruction , conflicts caused by castes-religions-languages , population explosion , polution of global envirnments , violation of human rights and other factors threaten the global peace and needs formation of global government to bring permanent peace and happiness in the world.
I agree with Held's assessments at the beginning of the video. Clearly, the most pressing shared problems (Nuclear Proliferation, Climate Change, Financial Market Regulation) have not been meaningfully addressed at a "global" level. There are no adequate mechanisms to do so, and more fundamentally, as Held points out, individual leaders and citizens remain "stubbornly identified" with nations, and other particular groups rather than the universal or global context. It's not even clear, imo, what such a shared context means in practice, if anything. So it is peculiar indeed, and perhaps the odd conceit of an academic, that he speaks of this journal as vitally important to providing a "new language" for politicians to rethink their agendas. How out of touch is that?

@misterMagoo4 just because he is tied to Gaddafi, doesn't mean he can't make normative points about global governance.
