Nicely put. The fog is being caused by vested and political interest and it is unfortunate to see this court attempt to use 'lawfare' as a weapon rather than being impartial and working on established fact only. Palestinians, if there is such a thing, have shown no restraint whatsoever in their actions and have refused point blank over the last 50 years to establish a 2 state solution and have instead pursued a medieval program of death dealing as opposed to the Israelis developing defence strategies. Nothing can excuse Oct 7th and it is sad to see some western countries backsliding purely because they are worried about losing the Muslim vote, yes Biden and Starmer, I'm talking about you.

sure. That 17 year long blockade destroying the lives of everyone in Gaza couldn't have anything to do with the ill will towards Israel. Consider someone who is 30 years old in Gaza has lived in this degraded life open air prison since they were 13. What would you do if you were that 30 year old and someone did that to you. Any looking at the numbers of innocent people hurt, the devastation, ... and the only way you can justify the acts of Israel is to believe that the people on one side are more deserving of human life and opportunity than the other. And I believe we would call such a person a monster under any other circumstances.

That 13 year old has lived under a government that offers no alternative and will use its own people as human shields and their own homes and hospitals as launch pads for rockets. Gaza originally belonged to Egypt and it is telling that Egypt neither wanted it back when offered or was willing to open the Rafah crossing to take in the refugees. Give back the hostages and be prepared to make peace with Israel while taking the elimination of Israel off the table. Maybe the leaders of Hamas should leave their plush residences in Qatar and get a first hand experience of what they are inflicting on the people they represent. Israel did plenty to help Gazans but were pissed on every time.
And the court’s silence on Hamas is so telling. I have 0 confidence in the integrity of the court and faith in the UN is flagging. And I was a development fief officer for CARE monitoring food aid for three years. What has the UN done to help distribute aid safely and to ensure it is going to its correct destination and not HAMAS?

Even so-called "educated people" can hold a very strong bias against those they are prejudiced against. It is extremely difficult for anyone to be totally unbiased, yet if we have respect for every person, regardless of their nationality, ethnicity, or belief, we can live together with understanding. The bias against Israel since its inception in 1948, particularly by the UN, has proved their very strong prejudice and antisemitism. It's so ludicrous to think that Israel would have more UN resolutions against it than against all other countries combined, particularly when the Arab/Muslim countries have shown such disregard for the care and safety of their own citizens.

Gaza has also signed the statute, so the ICC is investigating crimes in Gaza, not Israel as I understand it. If anything ICC has no jurisdiction to investigate what Hamas did in Israel since Israel is not a signatory to the statute.
She speaks very well. But that just hides the woeful attempt to defend Israel. Yes, a court was set up without aim to stop crimes against humanity and Israel feels that’s an unfair attack… I wonder why?! Karim Khan the prosecutor of the ICC went to Israel in December 2023. He said the following and published it for all to see.
"I witnessed scenes of calculated cruelty" by Hamas and other armed Palestinian groups in the Kibbutz's and the Nova festival. "The attacks against innocent Israeli civilians on 7 October represent some of the most serious international crimes that shocked the conscience of humanity, crimes in which the ICC was established to address". "I call for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages taken by Hamas and other terror organisations".

ICC has no jurisdiction because - (1) Israel is not a signatory to the ICC Rome statute AND (2) there is a requirement that before ICC can exercise jurisdiction there must be recourse FIRST to the national courts of Israel or Palestine

The ruling of this court may be accepted by countries that have approved ICC charter (~60% of UN members).

The burden of proof lies with the prosecuting agency. Its up to them to prove that breaches of IHL laws occurred, Israel can then defend against those specific allegations.

Israel is to make a statement respecting the ICJ in respect to complying with fully or partially. We can not fully ignore the verdict.
It did, Israel said it is complying with the ICJ verdict since they are not committing any action that will result in genocide. That is what the ICJ ruling said. To halt all operations in Rafah, that might result in genocide.
But I believe Natasha was speaking about the ICC here, which Israel has no intention of complying with, since Israel is not a signatory.

Another recent example of bias, in his speech about asking for arrest warrants, he defined Israel as a "territory" and Palestine as a "state", and while they are in the process of establishing an official state, they are still far from it.

That arrest statement was reviewed by dozens of lawyers before being published and to think that they would be careless about wording or introducing overt bias is not very serious

There is no such place as Palestine. That is why hamas recently asked that a palestinian state because established. Gaza is part of israel.
