Loved the new intro!!! We are also a family of four. Me, husband, 5year old and 3 old. Groceries are Ike $150-$200 a week but that’s because my kids are tragoncitos lol and we buy mostly organic.

I wish my husband was like Luis with food lol I always want the brand or organic food because I think it’s made better I think but my husband wants the cheapest hahah good thing I shop a lone most of the time. He does also taste the difference so there’s thing that he does ask that are organic or brand name. You two are cute :)
Honestly its pretty much the same
I think young people are like you ima3upi but when you actually think about it, how many Wal-Mart food factories or Meijer, Kroger, Piggly Wiggly factories do you see? You DON'T because these NAME BRAND companies MAKE the store brands in their factories AT the same time, they just run different "lines". Years ago my DH worked for a factory that made Dehumidifiers(sp) and part of the day they made a NAME BRAND PRODUCT...and the other half of the day the PRODUCT WAS EXACTLY the same, except it was named different for a bargain corporation.
I did the same thing as far as buying name brand things when I was first married, until my mom pointed it out about the store brands. It was then that I started to purchase a lot of the store brands, and I always added the difference up and put it in my savings account. I also put my return bottle deposits in the same savings account. I always "pay" myself for doing laundry. I have a jar on the dryer and I put $1-$2 in the jar every time I do a load of wash & also to dry it. At the end of the month, I put the washer/dryer money in that account and over the years when we have had to purchase appliances, we don't go into debt for them ever, there's usually enough money in that savings account to get the appliance or other things for the house that I need. Right now I am going to get a new dishwasher & a new gas range, and both of these are being paid for from that savings account.
I also decide right after Christmas WHAT amount I am going to spend for the next year on family members, and friends,( I also include what I am going to spend on B-days too in this monthly amount)and so I add the amount up and for the next 10 months (January thru October. When I see something on sale and it is something someone in the family wants or needs, I purchase it, take it home, wrap it in the end of the year Christmas Wrapping paper & bows I purchased right after Christmas) and take a white tag, and write on the tag who the gift is for and what's in the package and then I have a small attic in our room that is behind out huge closet and that's were the gifts go (I have a paddle lock on the door so when the kids lived at home they wouldn't find the stuff). So, each month for the next 10 months, I take out $$ (this year I am taking $56 out per month and putting it in a special account I have for this type of thing(I also have a debit card for this account). I also save all my receipts and put them in my monthly expense account so I can keep track of what is spent. By learning to save, we were able to put a big chunk of money down on our home, and we paid the house of 15 yrs ago, at a time, when most of our family & friends are still making house payments. We also do the same thing with the cars we purchase. If you get into the habit of saving and purchasing clothes for consignment shops, and banking the difference, it adds up. The only things I don't buy from consignment shops are under clothing & shoes. I even purchase coats for us at the end of the season and get them for great discount prices!

We are a family of 6 and we spend between $550-600 a month. But let me just throw this in there before everyone is like omg lol...im a huge bargain shopper. I don't mind the off brand products, and I do buy in bulk bc we do have family show up to eat or spend the weekend w us, so most of the time it is just the 6 of us, but sometimes that number grows to 8 or 10. I usually have at least 2 baskets full of stuff when I grocery shop, but again I only go shopping once a month. Unless I run out of something we need like milk, bread, eggs, etc. But I have an extra freezer that I try to completely fill up when I do go grocery shopping. So there are times that I can wait over a month to go back. But I do it this way bc I absolutely hate going to the grocery store. Where we live, people are completely rude and no matter how many times u say excuse me, they refuse to move out of the way so u can get down the aisles while they stand there talking holding up everyone.

I have the same at my house as well.. I always go with a budget for grocery shopping but my hubby ends adding so much to the cart and i get even more pissed when he is just not bothered to look at the price tag and just keeps adding.. according to him we shouldnt' think before we spend on food.

What things do you do to help Kami with her growth? I wish it snowed here in san diego. I spend about $80 a week on groceries it's mainly food for my son and he's 2 years old my boyfriend and I eat out a lot! It's soo funny how your mad at Luis and he's just like nothing happen his soo funny.
