"Even with my imperfections, I can still make a difference." Despite all his internal struggles with negativity, David radiates joy onstage. He literally brings joy to the world with his music.
This popped up again today, and I listened again. David Archuleta…as for your response to “what do you want to be most remembered for” …so far…mission accomplished! …over and over. Absolutely, you lift others, in your music, in your being. Colt, great interviewer you were to listen, take in, and give David the space to articulate his thoughts. It’s often these “underground” interviews that are the best, for those reasons. The more commercial ones, maybe due to time constraints, can sometimes be shallow by comparison. And since David Archuleta is anything but shallow, it’s great when someone really has the time to let him speak from his heart.
I’d love to see a follow-up to this interview now that he’s come out. That is a huge part of his journey, and I’d love to hear him speak on it out loud.
8:25 when he says “my secret” he wants to say it right there but holds back . I feel for him right then. He is struggling. He’s a fantastic person. His interviews are different now that he’s out. You can tell it’s a relief.
David you started making a difference the minute you showed up on A.I. People saw your dedication to do the right thing & your determination to be humble before God.
It's amazing when you forget about your own problems and learn to spend time loving and serving others (despite your own suffering), the blessings that can come into your life!!! xox
Great interview! Colt seemed positive and engaged - thank you! David you got this .. Keep moving forward because you're a great example of goodness and you certainly lift others through your music 💕
@@OrangeXenon54 Agreed. As an on-again-off-again fan for 13 years, most of us figured this was part of the issue at least a decade ago. I’m just happy he’s finding his voice and speaking his truth.
What an amazing interview!! My partner and I are big fans of you and your music. Your first album, the song "You Can" is our song. Just keep doing you. Your music is amazing and uplifting.
Thank you @TheColtBalokShow for this interview with @davidarchie 💕 I appreciate your thoughtful questions and the fact that you allowed David to share his messages without interruption...I loved being able to hear his story and thoughts 🙌 Great interview, both of you 💫 @dav1darchiefan1
Great guy! This is a true gift that you have David and you do not realize how your faith and humble talk is a comfort for many. Keep singing... keep sharing...
He idol, i am from the philippines anyway, i really felt your sincerity during the interview. Indeed you have a sweet spirit within you so keep it up bro,i know you served a mission and served people in chile...eventhough you're a big star now, but you still down to earth when talking to people hope to meet you when you visit the philippines.am a a returned missionary also serving in the Phils San Fernando Mission.
He has been struggling a lot with reconciling his sexuality with his religion. He made a post about it recently and I think that may be why it seemed like he didn't think he was good enough. He may feel like he is always being judged just for being who he is because unfortunately that's what many religious people are taught.
David, you are really awesome and wonderful, and just remember, that Heavenly Father loves you! He loves each and everyone of us, including you, Colt!!! And anybody reading this also! I belong to the same church that David belongs to, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! I didn’t join until I was 45, and I am now 72! I did a lot of counseling and other kinds of work on myself… Yes, that is good, but what is even better, is the gospel of Jesus Christ! (knowing that I am loved by Heavenly Father and by Jesus Christ!). That helped me more than any of the other work that I did on myself! I was very negative and had all this negative “ self talk“! And David was talking about it, and I wanted to say yes, when you start to have your negative thoughts, one must change one’s focus! You must turn your body, even literally, and look in a different direction, and hopefully you will think of something else, and maybe just start doing something else to stop the negative “self talk”! And say a prayer or two, as David mentioned. Thank you for the wonderful interview!
Distraction is a good tool to have for negative thoughts. David knows he is loved by Jesus, but I think he doesn’t love himself due to his belief and it’s incompatibility with his sexuality. Now that he has come out, it is a step closer to loving his true self.
David are used to feel that way, but you need to remember you are a child of God so Satan is going to pick on gods children because he can’t get your soul but he can mess with your mind and cause you to fall. So just remember it’s Satan that’s feeding your negative thoughts. He can’t get our soul gods already got our soul. Satan is just trying to mess up our minds. God bless you my dear brother. You really lift me up when I hear you speak and when I listen to your music. Thank you so much
Colt looks like a robot during this interview doesnt even respond to Super smash bros or anime and never has any responses to anything he actually say's
It's hard to think David has that inter voice that makes him think he's a failure or loser when in fact he's very successful for his age. I think he's maybe to hard on him self
Yeah, it's surprising to me as he's always smiling and seems like such an optimist. I wrestle with the same negative thoughts he describes but, for me, it shows on my face when I'm depressed.
His rejection of his sexuality(an innate part of who one is) is part of what’s causing that inner voice to constantly remind him he is a failure. But the good news is that he came out
The interviewer absolutely sucks and horrible. And I think it’s tacky he keeps calling David, Dude. A bit disrespectful. And everything seems to be “amazing” to the interviewer omg.
I feel bad for him because his refusal to come out is most likely due to his religion or his reluctance to disappoint his family and Mormon friends and associates.

David I hope you find happiness
In case no one has told you today you are enough just the way you are
This boy needs a hug
The church is destroying his life.
He is far from being a boy
He is 30. No hugs(perverted acts).

You are really a true role model bro, we are in the same church i was once missionary also that was 1994 to 1996
I'm a member of the church too
Really inspiring ...
hope he is ok....he seems to worry so much......
My crush David
Loved this interview~ thank you‼️
Well, now we know why he was struggling so much.
there is pain in his eyes i see it the fact that he thinks he's not good enough makes me so sad
If he becomes a therapist he could do music therapy and sing to them
Everyone feels that way at times but I think he is guided by God and is maturing.

Not satan, but his sexuality (and its rejection from the Mormon church) is what’s messing with his mind.
