We wanted to dive into Cleopatra's full history for this updated video. What do you think of Cleopatra? Do you think she was as beautiful as she is made out to be?
I really enjoyed the video. I was struck by how much the transition from a statue to the digital recreation made her more beautiful looking than I expected. Her statue doesn't really look like much but when you give it color and life, she seems quite pretty. Suggestion: When you have white marble Greek or Roman statues, it would be really cool to see a recreation of how those might have been painted in the era. That would be a nice in-between step. To merge from white statue to painted statue and then to digital recreation.
I’ve seen the other 2 videos. And I’m always impressed and mesmerised. The recreation of her profile in this one is amazing. And the full face also, especially with the Greek styled clothing that she would have worn. Can you make a modern version with this prototype but with curly hair? In any case, that smile at the end is like looking at the face of the women in my Greek family ;) it’s astounding.
I like these suggestions. I wondered why you didn't make her recreation's hair at least a little red, given your report of it having been her color. But your recreation does show that she was a charismatic beauty even though "not altogether incomparable."
Everything we know about Cleopatra was written by her enemies, who portrayed her as evil. Yet, she has captivated historians for centuries. Imagine being so extraordinary that even your enemies' attempts to tarnish your image, you continue to fascinate and inspire.
I know right? We're still talking about how beautiful and intelligent she was...and that's coming from people who didn't like her. She's one of my favorite historical figures.
This is one of the most wonderful artistic interpretations of Cleopatra I’ve seen! She is exactly how I picture her in my mind with a Maria Callas likeness (the dark expressive eyes, large nose, diva personality). I think she was maybe not a traditional beauty as she had strong features but was more of an exotic almost intimidating beauty and her personality was honed to be even more attractive. Incredible all these thousands of years later we are still talking about her!
Seeing Cleopatra's living image emerge from the bust was a bit overwhelming because her spirit returned to life. On the Polish calenders, my mother, Irena, has her name's day on October 20th, that she shares with Cleopatra.
This one was by far the best recreation I have seen. I have always maintained that Cleopatra would have maintained her Ptolemaic Greek heritage in her features since Ptolemy did adopt that custom of intermarriage between siblings.
I do not see how marriage between siblings makes it any more or any less likely that she had Egyptian blood in her. Egypt was ruled by Macedonians, and it is pretty sure that that their pharaohs would have been taken from the ruling class. Adopting Egyptian customs might even suggest that there was MORE intermingling than one might expect.
Absolutely love your channel and content. The marriage of history and art speaks to my inner creative and historophile. I always learn a new detail I haven't heard before and your narratives are always well written and researched, respectful and true to the source material. The cadence and tone of your voice is very soothing. Thank you for all your hard work and sharing your talent.
As an avid reader of anything historical, I have thoroughly enjoyed your portrayal of Cleopatra and her place in Greek, Egyptian and Roman history - absolutely fascinating! Thank you 🌻
I think your channel is perfection 👍. Love the history part, your beautiful narration and I'm always excited how you make all those personalities come to life at the end. I appreciate your work, thank you 😊🙏
To all her contemporaries/ancient critics, to today's modern eyes she looks stunning in your recreation, Becca! Statues, as realistic as they can be, will ever get the same effect as looking to a picture in color, that's why your work recreating those historic figures is so fascinating. Giving life and face back to people we could only imagine is just astonishing and honor their memory.
Cleopatra is such an icon omg! A learned woman and an efficient administrator of one of the most prolific empires. Totally unbiased when I say this is my favourite 🤩
Royalty Now is definitely my favorite UA-cam channel. Whenever I see a new video in my feed, I get really excited, and then I'm completely enthralled by every single video you do. I also love how you treat each subject with so much warmth and compassion. Thank you so much for your amazing work!
Your work on these videos is truly fascinating. It is amazing how you put together the statues and paintings and convert it into a life like picture of how they may have looked. The history behind each person helps to understand more than just the commons views. The first time I saw an historical person shown "alive", it gave me chills. I love your work/channel!!
It's beautifully emotional to see the final recreation... knowing that someone, somewhere, unknowingly, looks exactly like one of these incredible ancient historical rulers 👸 🤴
Your articulation and delivery are exceptionally clear and calming. You're not giving too much info, but enough for me to dig deeper and research certain characters. I love all of your work! ❤
I love Cleopatra! She is one of my favorite historical figures. Her life with Caesar and Antony is so theatric. I wonder how she would feel knowing so many people to this day are fascinated by her.
These depictions of historical figures are educational and beautiful to watch. Congratulations to this young woman for creating such an impressive view of the past.
What a great video! For many years, I've been fascinated by this period in Roman history. You seem to have got it all right, as far as we can know 2000 years later! 🌺
Hello from a new subscriber! I started to watch your videos at the end of 2024 and have been hooked ever since. I really appreciate what you do and I learn something each time. Thank you for bringing the history back to life for us. I hope one day to see a behind the scenes of how you do the recreations!
This is my new favorite page. Thank you for an awesome Cleopatra story. I'm waiting for Dr. Kathleen Martinez to find Cleopatra's tomb. Hopefully in our lifetime.
Gorgeous recreation! 😍😍😍💗💗💗💗💓💓 As for presentation, two small mistakes - Antony never surrendered to Octavian (both he and Cleopatra proposed this on condition that Octavian will leave Egypt to their children, but he never answered back) and we don't know if Ptolemy XIII was Cleopatra's full or half-brother.
This is such a beautiful presentation and historical record of Cleopatra and her era. There's so much information most would never know. We are left to understand her struggles and her talents in a ruthlessly tough world. They died forever young. I can't help feeling emotional looking at her and I'm a time traveller. She is lovely, charming, with a wonderful smile. A sublime way to appreciate and marvel at our human history and heritage. ...Thank you for your great works.
The motion really makes a difference on this one. I always figured she might be the kind of person whose beauty would show best while she was in motion (similar to how some people look ok in a photo but stunning in a video nowadays). It would explain why the sources were so mixed about her being bewitching but not stunningly beautiful too. I think this video helps back that idea up.
Just one word: WOW She was intelligent and a beauty. In those days I guess you had to use whatever gifts you had to achieve your goals. Thank you for another beautiful video!!
Magical! Just magical! The music for her "reveal" (Neptune by Bonnie Grace) was perfection. Kudos to your husband for always finding the perfect music for your art!
Thank you so much! This is the best and most realistic recreation of Cleopatra I’ve ever seen. She was extremely beautiful and you captured her strength and intelligence. Love your channel.
I love this so much. It is so enriching and more involved and engaging than any other 'A.I.' channel I have seen before. Thank you for what you do. It must take an incredible amount of time and work.
She’s so regal with her melon hairstyle. The music selection is perfect! Thank you so much for allowing us to appreciate such classically beautiful facial features lost in today’s world of social media
The story of Cleopatra is truly one that has stood the chance of time (and likely always will). This depiction certainly matches what I see when I imagine her - a regal, imposing appearance that complemented a brilliant mind.
I love the addition of how they would look if they lived in the present. It does make it more of an emotional experience to see. She looks as I pictured her in my mind.
Extraordinary work as usual. I’ve always wondered what became of her daughter. As far as I’ve been able to research, she fades into history and isn’t recorded in anything we’ve discovered to date.
Gorgeous, captivating and entirely plausible. Thanks for this. Other commenters may want to read Cleopatra by Stacy Schiff, for a portrait of a beguiling, intelligent, powerful monarch primarily interested in taking care of her country.
"Brother-husband" was not a term I expected to hear today😆 This was fantastic. Thank you so much for all of the work, research, and love you poured into this video, and all of your others!
Your reconstruction of Cleopatra is stunning. I have the replica of her bust and people always think it’s a man (until they see the bun) and comment on how ugly she was. If they could see this…👏
This seems exceptionally close to the narrative told by scholars, but in an easy to follow presentation. Most popular accounts are distorted by certain agendas.
Wow, what a stunner! When I visited the British Museum about 5 years ago, I saw a mummy they said was Cleopatra. I was so excited to see her, but was disappointed when I later found out she wasn't THE Cleopatra. Oh well. Was still cool to see nonetheless. Great interpretation of her likeness in this video. @@dana1989ktk I have to agree with you 100 percent because Cleopatra gain more fan and people start to search and watch every documentary about her
She’s my favorite historical woman of all time 😍
I’ve wondered why so, given she wasn’t Egyptian and her rule saw Egypt become a province of the Roman Empire.
Little did they know we actually love scandalous women.

Maria Callas- Very likely!
JESUS TOO...AN THEY CANT EVEN LOOK AT THEMSELVES🤭🙏SORRY GOD,ITS THE TRUTH THO🤷🙆🤭🙏✝️
I don't know why but these recreations always make me so emotional
me too
Same! Partially probably the swelling music

The Margaret George book is fantastic!
That’s the most comprehensive history I’ve ever come across in regards to Cleopatra. Well done RNS team. ❤
I had no idea she had 3 children with Marc Anthony. Another beautiful recreation! ❤
