    Hello again everyone! I hope you enjoyed this video! The copper and brass mix didn’t come out as well as I’d hoped but I absolutely love the zinc. Not everything works out as planned but that’s ok. Have a great weekend and I’ll see you all next week for more!

      How do you like the new place? Looks like you live on the East side of town. Definitely more quiet than the NW side.

      That new one is sick and I need one! I have enough molds to sit around it like you did to keep it from running off. Recessing it down into a mold would Probly mess with the side of the design yea? I’m also going to need the skull with guns coin mold as well lol. Good stuff brother! 🤜🏻🤛🏻

      I've the exact same issue you had with molding brass. Do you know what caused this on your coins?

    • @ArtByAdrock
      @ArtByAdrock  3 роки тому

      Well considering I mixed it with copper and solder it kinda pours like mud. I didn’t want to overheat the zinc either. I should have melted the copper and brass separately. Oh well

    Video pretty much proves what I've learned over the years. Brass, not to be poetic, is a pain in the ass. Very tight temp range for pouring, too cold and it goops up like it did here, too hot and it burns and outgasses all kinds of nasty shit you shouldn't breathe. Zinc on the other hand is a joy. Turns to water at a relatively low temp and can get in all the nooks and cranny's of detailed molds.

    Another great melt. Smart using the electric furnace for the Zinc, as you don't want to overheat it and have those nasty Zinc fumes.

    • @ArtByAdrock
      @ArtByAdrock  3 роки тому +2

      That’s exactly why I use the electric for zinc 👍🏻

    Great video. The zinc pours were superb and the new mound is pretty darn cool. The copper and brass melt looked like it was not hot enough. To be honest, I thought that the Monster was kicking your butt and making you shaky. All in all, great job. Always a learning experience. Cheers 🍻

    Awesome video again Adam! The zinc is so beautiful! I wonder why copper and brass don’t get along in the heat? Anyway, they cleaned up nice and it was cool to see you stick with your pour and pull it off. Looking forward to next week brutha!

    The copper alloy wasn't quite hot enough when you poured with the metal being too viscous to form proper moulds. Although, the resultant ones came up ok once you'd cleaned and polished them up.

    the problem with the copper pour was because you had too small amount of copper in a too large cruicable so it cool down very quick

    I don’t know why water circulatory aren’t mandatory in new homes. People don’t realize how much cold water is wasted down the drain just waiting for the hot water to arrive. Having a water circulator would help with tremendously with water wastage.

    You gave the impression that you made the graphite mold for the Chinese demon face yourself?
    I have a plastic model of Han Solo in carbonite which is about an inch wide, four inches long and a half inch deep which I've been casting mini ingots in using sand.
    I'd love to get a graphite version so if I were to send it to you could you scan and make a mold of it?
    You could make copies for yourself for your trouble and casting Han Solo in copper, silver or if you've got the budget, gold, would make for an awesome video.

    • @j0hnf_uk

      Not hot enough. The mix cooled down too quickly into a viscous-like consistency that didn't flow into the moulds quite as well as expected.
