LAST PART OF THE DESCRIPTION 14:06 - 九月は讃美歌による (September is due to a hymn [approximative translation]) Had a blast on this one. It's not originally on the EP, since I believe it was on a zankyou records demo CD or something like this, but it's on the official UA-cam playlist of the EP, and it was too good to be skipped. Sheer aggressivity. It is the only song from the EP that's not in F standard. I think it's in Open G, so FADGCE with capo on 2nd fret. You may have noticed by now, but I don't think they played with a click track on this album, which is why there is SO many micro tempo changes in their songs ; I lost myself a bit in the clean section because of this lol. Initially, the intro of the video was the only outside section I filmed. But with this great strumming climax in the end, I thought it would be cool to add some more. So throughout the past months, I had a lot of fun filming random things and experimenting a bit with it. Kunimitsu's music videos have been my main inspiration for this, even though it seems he was filming with an analog camera, while I only have a digital one. There is no real transcription of this outro : I only wrote down the basic chord shapes, but then, I believe it's up to you to have fun and do whatever noodling you want to make it sound cool. ~ GP file : www.mediafire.com/file/no74ios76n267g9/september.gp/file ~ PDF file : www.mediafire.com/file/3woka5xyb1249z4/september.pdf/file Well, I think that's it for the process explanation. I hope you enjoyed the video, and that the tabs will be useful ! I think it will be my last video for a while. Unfortunately, this is a very time-consuming hobby and I have to focus on a few other things for now. It won't make much of a difference though, since my upload schedule is already so scattered. Thank you very much for your support throughout the past years. I love reading your comments everytime. Take care and see you next time !
The Cabs blew my mind when I discovered them like, 5 or so years ago. This EP was on constant repeat for me. Glad to see someone tabbed the entire EP. Thanks a lot!
absolutely the same! also discovered them randomly about 5 years ago, now returning to them to learn some of their songs and they still blow my mind. even more this time!
This takes an incredible amount of time, hard work, and dedication. The camera work, practising all those complex guitar riffs, the video editing, etc. Writing out the guitar tabs can be especially tedious and deserves special mention. I hope that if I ever do cover videos they can look half as good as this. Bravo mate 👏
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment 🙏 If you wanna do cover videos, please go ahead; it doesn't have to be perfect, the only thing that matters is if they're made with passion!
Found this video after hearing the announcement of the cabs reunion. Can't imagine how much work and effort you've made to complete this EP cover. This is amazing!! The best guitar covers I've seen recently. Congratulation and a big thank you.
gonna be watching this for a very long time. this video is outstanding, thank you so much for the dedication you put into covering all of the cabs’ music! just music in general lol!
Love everything about this video. The editing and camera work are so high quality, and your playing is just insane. This EP alongside kaiki suru kokyu are definitely my two favourite of all time. Thank you so much for making this 🙏🙏
Amigo haz hecho un trabajo tremendo! una obra de arte, soy fan de the cabs sobre todo de la guitarra y el sonido que sacaste es brutal muy identico al original, mis respetos!
i always come back to watch this video every now and then just to listen, and to try to learn off the songs. I love this. Do you have any tips on how to get a tone similar to the cabs like you have?
Thanks for the support! I use Line 6 Helix Native as an amp sim, and usually a quite straightforward signal chain: compressor, clean amp with a lot of mids (I add a distortion pedal when needed), two impulse responses as a cab and occasionally some reverb.
@@LouisR56 dude this is helped so much with my tone haha. What about you bass, treble and compressor settings? Are they that important? Also, I use a clean booster but I don’t know if it is necessary or not as I don’t want to ruin the tone. What do you think?
@@_Nori5005_ I keep my bass pretty low, at around 3, and my treble high, usually around the same level as the mids. It's also important to note that I use additional EQ with a plugin to cut all the very low frequencies so it doesn't interfer with the rest of the mix. For the comp I use the deluxe comp on Native and keep the standard settings I think. Never used a clean boost so can't give my opinion on it!
Amazing work bro congratulations. I love this ep. And you're wearing tesseract and deafheaven shirts. Three incredible bands (TesseracT is my favorite)
Great work, it was a pleasure to watch and listen to you play what is probably my favorite EP of all time (as of today). You played great, and I truly think all of your hard work has paid off. Thank you very much for this video.
Thank you so much! It's a pretty cheap Squier but I agree it looks nice! For the tones, I used exclusively Line 6 Helix Native plugin, with additional EQ (pro Q-3) and compressor (pro C-2). I also bought some impulse response (MES 212 V30 by York Audio) and used it on some of the songs for more realism.
It was a truly wonderful performance! It seems that all three albums, including this one, were recorded in one take without a click track. Drummer Itta Nakamura mentioned it on X. Since I’m Japanese, I apologize if my message is difficult to read.
Oh man, please tell me how you get that guitar tone? You matched it so well! Would love to see you cover the album with the owl on it, it’s my personal favorite - especially the last song
Hi! For the guitar tone, I think I used a different one for almost every song haha, but everything is made with Helix Native plugin; the signal chain is kinda straighforward, basically a clean amp with additional overdrive/distorsion when needed, a compressor and sometimes a bit of reverb. Maybe I will cover Recur Breath someday... It is also my favorite, but there are already a lot of great tabs for almost every song online which reduces a bit the interest for a video
Amazing!! Are you a professional guitarist or do you just play as a hobby? I'm thinking about going to college to study guitar but I'm a little scared haha
Thank you! I'm completely self-taught, and started playing guitar as a hobby 4 years ago. Really, if you have the opportunity, go for it! I wish I could've done the same
I didn't know about this band, thanks for the recommendation! Unfortunately I can't promise anything, as I said in the description this channel is in a hiatus rn.
Thank you! I do but it's completely inactive, I only created it to answer to Kunimitsu Takahashi when he reposted an old video of mine a few years ago :/
