    Thought I'd share with you how I made this wool sculpture. I started needle felting in 2016.
    I used cruelty-free wool from LivingFelt and nails are from plant-based glue.

    I love this video because it’s been my dream to needle felt. I’m only 11 turning 12 this year(2019) and my mom said that needle felting is for older people, or you’ll make useless stuff,or you’ll get hurt. But when I hear that it makes me grow more confidence to learn how to needle felt. I want to needle felt and this makes me happy. I don’t care if people say if boring, you’ll get hurt, you’ll make useless stuff, I think as long as it makes me happy it’s not useless

    • @mermer58
      @mermer58 5 років тому +62

      Creating is not useless. Needle felting is like sculpting. I'm surprised your mother would say such a thing. I learned to knit and sew when I was 11 and both skills have served me well over the last 50 years. Needle felting and wet felting can be done to make a variety of useful things too. Hats, shoes, purses. Don't let anyone steal your joy!

      I started needle felting when i was 16 (I'm 19 now) so its never too early to start :) Listen to your heart and do what makes you happy! I completely support you and everyone else (at any age or skill level) to start needle felting right away... Its so fun and therapeutic. I would love to see what you make some day!! 😊

      As a mother myself it's hard to imagine telling my children that their dreams and desires are worthless or useless. I hope that u realize that creating ANYTHING is good for your soul. What you should do is save up some money a d buy your own tools and felt and go at it. Make something amazing. And when ur done, send me some pictures! If your mother cant be supportive then you can borrow my family. We will be glad to root for you. Just be responsible. Dont leave your needles laying around to be stepped on. Dont leave a mess of felt for someone else to clean up. If u are truly passionate about something, then it isn't worthless. Its PRICELESS! good luck kiddo!

      Hey you! You needle felt if you wanna needle felt. I’m eleven and I have been felting for about four months, and I am slowly advancing in level. It’s ok if your mom disagrees, but honestly, needle felting is NOT for older people. Actually, many kits are rated 8+. There are some more difficult ones, but there are simple ways, like UA-cam, to get started. From my personal experiences, (I learned needle felting from the channel Maqaroon), it is a very simple craft, and I encourage you to get started. It really is not dangerous as long as you go at your own steady speed and wear finger guards made of rubber, leather or silicone. It is relaxing and produces extremely satisfying results. Remember that crafts are not only for adults, but many children can do it as well. Crafting and creating (such as knitting, making miniature worlds, or even slime) is my way to calm down and get creative. The supplies for felting are ridiculously easy to find on amazon.com, and you can get a beginner felting kit that includes needles, wool, etc. I’m encouraging you to tell your mom this, maybe even show her my comment. Hope you can get into felting and I hope this helped. Good luck!😊❤️

      Muffins 362 ok. Just so you know. It's actually not that expensive!! I went to hobby lobby and chanced a kit and it was surprised it was under ten dollars. A needle pack was like 7 and a pack of felt was about as such.
      20$ for the needle and felt and 10 for a kit. Though I'm sure you could use foam as a punch board and that's like 5$.
      Then all ya need is practice!

    You should have done a slow camera shot around it at the end ....
    I lost my baby girl (chihuahua) at the beginning of the pandemic... I considered doing or getting something like this that i could put on my dash or something. Depending on how much. Or possibly faces only of my dogs.. actually 3 are easy.. lol. They were black and white mini and 1 reg cockers but the faces all similar... of course slight dif.. 1 is biggest with a salt and pepper ears, though more black and groomed short ears, 1 a slender tiny face like an angel, and the 3rd looked like her but a bit bigger but a bit more of the drawn down look. He eventually became blind.. The 1st was biggest , 3rd then 2nd smallest.
    Then a cocker/golden retriever mix.. more cocker look, soft blondish with golden ..
    And a super cut chihuahua. Most i don't have pics with me. They went into storage when we moved.
    I have a new furbaby... chihuahua/Italian Greyhound mix. Looks like a thicker golden blond Italian Greyhound. He was skin and bones when i got him. Refused to eat anything unless I ate it first. Now he eats but randomly. Anyhow... i think if they were all together it would look like a floral arrangement.
    Just a thought... maybe something that could be added to and put in a larger frame or ?
