- Last song of the night for Rage Against the Machine (Killing in the name of) and fan jumps over boards from in front of us, climbs the side stage steps and makes way to front of stage when he gets launched by the bands security guard. Tom Morello ends up a casualty when he gets accidentally tackled and falls off front of stage. Band resets and starts the song over from the top. July 23, 2022 Scotiabank Arena, Toronto, Ontario

There’s a thousand other guitar players who would’ve made the whole band call it a night right there. He went as far as to start the entire song over so the fans didn’t have a bad experience. Tom’s a great guy and a hell of a player.

I remember back at 97 when rage was playing in New Jersey Wu-Tang opened up for them. Zach sprained his ankle jumping on one of the triangle speakers left the stage for about a 1/2 hour the crowd almost fucking rioted it was insane and then he came back wearing a leg brace hopping around on one leg for the rest of the show it was epic.
I was at that show! The lights went out and everyone rushed the floor. I saw a security guard get trampled by the hockey boards that were still up.

We drove to KC for that show, we got there and it said Wu Tang would not be performing. Being stupid kids we chose to leave. I guess Rage tore it down for like 3 hours.

The initial reports I heard said "Tom tackled by security". Glad I got to see what really happened and glad that Tom was ok to play the show I was at last night in D.C. -- they sounded great!
technically he was taken out by security. The terrible security tried stopping the kid and fell on top of Tom lol.

There's a pretty fair fraction. I went to their show in DC yesterday and legitimately had a guy tell me that he moshes and pushes people around in the pit because he's "raging". He was halfway drunk when he said that, but looking at how many people were being unnecessarily aggressive last night, it's safe to say that there's a large portion of RATM "fans" who in actuality are just posers whose definition of rage is violating space and being aggressive for no reason at all

I was at a RATM show in salt lake. Around 2001 I think. One of the opening acts was gang star. Some dude rushed the stage and started fighting with their DJ while he was setting up his equipment. Numerous huge dudes grabbed him and drug him towards the back where they beat him mercilessly for a while. We could see it all from where we were. It was awesome. Nobody else rushed the stage.
