NRHPD Motorcycle Dog Capture

Today around lunchtime, officers were running traffic near Boulevard 26 at Baker Blvd when they noticed several cars on the opposite side of the street swerving and braking. Then they saw the NRH Animal Control truck come over the hill and noticed a dog running in the busy roadway of Boulevard 26. Officers Province and Cortes knew they needed to help. Together, they worked to coax the dog out of the busy road and pushed him towards an open field nearby. He continued to give chase and seemed to have endless amounts of energy. The duo worked for about five minutes to corral the dog back towards the waiting animal control officer; however, the dog took a sharp right turn and was off again at the last second. Officer Province asked animal control for the catchpole, and he and Officer Cortes again were back at it. As they traveled through the field on their motorcycles, they boxed the dog in. Officer Province swooped down (yes, while driving his motorcycle) and caught the dog (fast forward to 2:45-2:50 for this fantastic moment!). The sweet dog was given to ACO, who took him to the shelter and helped him cool down. Excellent work by Officers Province and Cortes! You definitely showed off some of those incredible skills on your bikes!
