Oh, and as an aside, rather than using Blender sculpting to clean up the mesh, try Instant Meshes, which will even give you good loop topology if you take a few minutes to comb it.
I'll have to have a look into that. Will it impact on the details for things like the hair?
@@ArtisansofVaul I am not sure. It's a remesh tool that's free but very sophisticated. You can paint edge flows and it'll figure out the new edge flow, which is why it's nice for scans like this. I haven't tried it on something like hair. It's definitely a great tool for scans. I'm not sure if you can remesh only parts of a scan or tell it to leave more quads in certain areas like beards.
The lighting from the inspire is much better for cgi, you don't want the lighting baked into the texture as then it won't match the lighting in the environment.
That's a really good point. Interestingly the Inspire also has a strobing light in time with the scanning which other scanners don't seem to in my experience, it makes for a really reliable result which is exactly what you'd want on your first scanner. Not also having to worry about lighting setup
Pretty impressive, the RevoPoint Inspire did a pretty good job. If you would have took more angles it may have captured more detail. You should look up some tuts on scanning people and try it again with a purpose ΛₒV 📸
Yeah. I'd like to have a go scanning someone else and see how it goes and possibly the whole head.
"because I'm now single" 😂😂😂
@@ArtisansofVaullet's hope so hahaha! keep us posted. Us nerds are actually quite gossipy 😆
Nice video but no way would my head go onto a marine. Do you want to scare the Chaos Gods? Because that is how you scare the Chaos Gods!
😅 I'm not sure I fared much better with that pose. Half way through I actually thought it could be fun to hit it with some extra sculpting and make myself a great unclean one or a glotkin
Mrs Vaul did a great job!
She really did! Total natural
