I really love Vegapunks leader effect so it’s super nice to see him in play. One of those leaders that really stays mostly contained to their own set without being so restrictive it doesn’t work.
I started playing the one piece tcg when op07 came out in english and instantly was interested in playing vegapunk. Cant wait for op08 to come out with more Egghead support. Love seeing gameplay with him and your commentary is great as always!

Second, wanted to know, if you had to replace Katakuri 8C by something else in a vegapunk list, what would it be? More searchers? Enel 7C? Really want to try this deck but don’t really wanna spend the big bucks rn. Thanks in advance :)
I'm glad you love the content!!! Sadly, I'm not sure if there's a better option than 8c Katakuri because of it's value in putting things in life. If you're dead-set on Vegapunk, I'd maybe play 10c Ace, but that doesn't help too much in cost. Once PBR01 comes out, 8c Katakuri will get cheaper because it's getting reprinted in that set!!!
I'm new to the game and when I first read Vegapunk, I thought "Wow, this is insane." Then I heard every other player essentially shit on him because he's a "Can't Attack" leader. So, I figure everyone is just so jaded from how poorly these types of leaders have performed in the past that they just immediately wrote my man off. But now everyone has to be seeing the light because our apple-brained scientist clearly goes in!!!
Sadly the tournament only showcases top 16 & up matches, but Vegapunk is being filmed for Top 16, Top 8 & Top 4 of this tournament! Top 16 video is on the channel as well if you want to watch now, Top 4 releasing tomorrow!
Any ideas on substitutes for the katakuri and nami in the vegapunk deck you crafted? Trying to build this deck before a con and i cant get those two in time.
sadly no changes for Kata besides maybe 10c Ace, the Katakuri just has TOO much value to have a good replacement. For the Nami that's tough, but you could use the Egghead stage to restand Shakas so you have an extra 6k swing or if you're set on removal, use something like Gedatsu. Vega hurts rn because the pool of cards is real small for deck synergy.
@@loafjay2371 SirDundo did a livestream the other day testing Vegapunk in OP07, I recommend watching that VOD! I bet someone in the 5-hour video asked him about replacing Kata 😂
Same 😭 although I’m pretty sure this list is 95% correct, but after tomorrow’s top 4 game if there is anything I noticed changed I’ll make those adjustments at the end of that video
@@atrocioustcg I think your list is pretty close, but I have a feeling he just doesn't run Franky which is strange caz he would be a way better 2k for this deck over Flampe with his trigger and being searchable. I also think he probably just runs a bunch of searcher events and Raigos in case there are bigger bodies he can't KO and he has dice for his multiple searches. But who knows, this is a pretty crazy deck that I want to tryout when OP08 comes out in the US
@@kelpo4prezident859 I guess there is no Franky in the deck, maybe the one cost search spell and the 6 cost spell are both 4, Flampe and the 6 cost spell can kill 7 Jack and have 1 cost for leader power in 8 cost turn for Vegapunks, it make Flampe a better choice than Franky. Flampe and the 6-cost spell play an important part in game Vegapunks vs Lucci and Enel.
But in all seriousness, probably the metashare spreading to more decks instead off just purely RPLaw & Lucci since the ST15-20 release probably helped Vegapunk make this run
That's interesting that the Vegapunk was allowed to do that with the dice, pretty sure that should be considered note-taking and therefor not permitted
To my understanding & reading the Bandai Play Official discord, this method is not allowed in the West. But in the East, they have a different ruleset that allows that.
10 drop ace dose not work as well as you think as you have no control on what you put into your life. It's also everything for boss monsters can heal 2 times where ace only heals 1once and it's only a rush with 2 life and you don't really stay at 2 life in the endgame
