Speaking Spanish, Portuguese, Hebrew and Arabic I find my most useful language Esperanto. The moronic mocking laughter at second 00:30 of the audience deserves reprimand by all people who have met one of the million Esperanto speakers world-wide.

These people have been manipulated to mock Esperanto. I bet none of them even know what it's about.

I guess they laugh because they don't even know what it is.

I am very much looking forward to the Esperanto course on Duolingo. I think languages shouldn't be judged by their number of speakers. Languages can be useful for very different reasons. Most people who have learnt Esperanto find it useful and get to communicate with a variety of people from many different countries

He says in the beginning his most requested language is for Esperanto, and he kinda laughs this off. I suspect the reason he doesn't think Esperanto will work is because there is not enough written on the web to make translating it profitable. I may be wrong. If so Esperanto folks need to show him. Also, he should record where those request for Esperanto everyday come from and tabulate which population most wants Esperanto.. that would tell us something else. Esperanto is supposed to be 5 to 10 times easier to learn than any other language.. no wonder people want to learn it from Duolingo! He suspects US use will drop but if he has tons of request from the USA, and he put us Esperanto, US use may rise. He may already have stats on this and someone may Not want him to teach Esperanto to Americans.. i dont know but i suppose anything is possible.. I know tons of Americans who wants Duolingo to have Esperanto. Thank you for your time.
