My husband works in a snack factory and when they roast and frost almonds, he smells so good. I have told him for years he needs to bottle that scent- it sounds just like this, soft and powdery like an almond cake. I am a fan of tonka and just the name makes it sound like perfection- almonds, tonka, wood- creamy velvety YUM! I need this one! BDK is impressing me.
Hi Abby: Been wearing the Vanilla Intense fragrance EVERY DAY! Today I wore the Deep n' Desire....smells like grapes and chocolate. These scents are CRAZY good. Did not know they had a new one coming.........I am all in for Velvet Tonka. Thanks for the review...love ya! :)

I thought I hated Velvet Tonka until I watched this video. I couldn’t get past the opening which to me smelled bitter and chemically…but then you mentioned orange blossom! There’s almost a petitgrain vibe that I’m getting. Now I’m experiencing my sample of VT in a whole new way. I’ve gone from hate to love. Thank you!

Love the video review Abby! I love perfume and BAKING pastries! I make macarons as a hobby. I love the almond smell that fills my home when I am baking them and this perfume sounds just like that. I may need to try this gormande perfume or others as I don’t have one. I love when two luxuries blend into one! Enjoy your day!
This one was nice. I do enjoy it. The bottle is stunning. People say it smells like feve by Dior. I just do not get that. I do enjoy the almond, marzipan smell. Enjoy having this in my collection. Pretty but my love is Gris Charnel. That one has my heart. I could not get on with Rouge Smoking,even tho I small the That one slightly in here. Super pretty.

Oh my goodness I have been dying to try this one. I absolutely love almond, vanilla and tonka. I also typically prefer gourmands. I’m sure it’s nearly impossible for you to recommend one over the other but if I really love gourmands should I choose this one or ebk ruby n vanilla?

Tanya.... I do think you might like this one because it is not a super heavy weight fragrance. It is a gourmand - and it has some sweetness and powderiness that makes it a bit fresh. Hey Abby: Why is the ordering different for Velvet Tonka than what we had to do for Vanilla Intense? Could you explain/clarify this? Thanks so much. :)
Donna- this is a different brand than EBK. BDK has an online store versus EBK does not. So you can order BDK online like we do for many other brands since it has a commerce website. I hope this makes sense! xoxo

I was so excited to hear about this until I read tobacco as note🤭🤢. Is it strong? Tobacco in fragrance just baffles me, it smells like the walk of shame, morning after the night before!!
Lila- to be honest, I did not smell the tobacco note. The rose and the tobacco are very faint in this fragrance. It is definitely more of an almond powdery scent! AND LOL! I love that description- we definitely don't want to smell like the walk of shame. No way! xoxo

I also got my hands on it and I think it is so so. I was expecting something more sexy va va voom! But it is a soft, sweet little thing. Sweet sexy but I don't know - a little too mild maybe and tiny bit vintage, just a touch? Lets see how long it lasts :)
Did you get a chance to test the longevity?
@@zazilicious Yes, it is not bad. Skin scent, but you can smell the almond for awhile. It is unique but I just don't know if this is something to jump on unless you have $. Maybe it is cool to have only because it is different but I don't think you will reach for it going on a date :) Try a sample from Lucky Scent if you can.

@@zazilicious I want to say maybe up two two hours and then it becomes closer to your skin. It is hard to say because almond is heavy and it just stays. Like it wants to projects but it can't lol. You will enjoy it but it is not some crazy erotic scent. It is almond :) and the Tonka is not sensual like in Tonka Guerlain. It is like nutty Amaretto. It just stays in the same place.
