MWAVE 2024 was an experience I could not miss. This event delivered at every level. For the home theater enthusiast, this is THE event to attend. All the big hitter vendors and manufacturers were there.
JTR speakers, RBH, SVS, Trinnov, Storm Audio, Anthem, Martin Logan, Ascendo, Valencia Theater seating, Sony, JVC, Epson, Deep Sea Sound. Too many to list!! - Розваги

Very fun show! I really enjoyed the projector comparison room. Overall just a good time.
That grimani theater was incredible! Best atmospheric sound I have ever heard. The JTR was just straight power. It was a great time!

Meeting the people ! That’s what it’s all about . Agree with you whole heartedly. Geeking out about the things we enjoy is what makes hobbies enjoyable. Watching movies by ourselves is ok , but so much better with a likeminded buddy or spouse . I really hope to be able to attend next year .

I’ve heard pretty consistently that the Grimani room was THE top room. The guy knows what he’s doing, no doubt.
I'm glad you got a chance to attend and experience everything. It really was an amazing event. I was teaching and running panels most of the time, so I didn't get to check it all out, but even during my media room, bass management, and networked audio panels, it was great seeing all of the engagement and questions that everyone had.

The screen in the Grimani room was 220" wide, 240" diag. Seymour - Screen Excellence Enlighter Neo. We brought 13 screens to KC, that room was the biggest. We were in the JTR Cinemike, Projector comparison and Ascendo rooms as well.
Wow, I didn’t think to ask whether the 220” was diagonal or width (I’m just used to referring to the diagonal dimension). Thank you for clarifying! That screen was a monster 🤯

what kind of screens were they and where can you get them? I'm looking to get a screen that is at least 14 feet wide and 7 feet tall.

Did u hear any atmos difference in the scendo vs jtr set ups. Jtr having them up high on the sides and scendo having up high but in the middle with 2 less atmos speakers??
I don’t think there was a major difference between the two in that regard. The two rooms showed different clips so it’s hard to say if there was any meaningful difference
What did you think of Rowone vs Valencia chairs?
They seemed pretty comparable. For comfort I think it comes down to personal taste and which one feels better for you. I am curious how they compare with regards to durability and longevity. Unfortunately I couldn’t really determine that in the short amount of time I checked them out.
@@GeorgeTheaterAtHome I like the variety that Valencia has but row one has a pretty killer price. I'm about to jump on one or the other soon!

I'm not surprised that you were blown away by Ascendo Audio speakers. You see them in high end theaters time after time.
They were sooo good. I went back to that room 3 times.
@@GeorgeTheaterAtHome went there solely to hear this Ascendo room. Ended up being the 4th best room for me. I liked JTR, RBH, and Grimani better.

Thanks! Now I know what to get for my next seating upgrade. I will get a Valencia Barcelona to replace; ironically; my Barcelona replica chair that is getting long in the tooth.

Also what kind of power amp are you using with your speakers?
I love my GoldenEar speakers. The sound is so clear and almost perfect. I’m driving them with crown amps. However, I recently picked up some new monoblock amps to drive my LCR speakers. Stay tuned for the video update…

I think they said $50,000 for the speakers. The rixos L are $8200 alone

SO....didn't like the SVS room hmm? lol I'm kidding, I know it's a lot to experience and talka bout, but would love to hear your impressions of their stuff.
I loved the SVS room. They did a demo with their towers that have built-in subwoofers. I was impressed with the effectiveness of the bass despite being in such a large room. Put those towers in a living room or a dedicated home theater space and they would do just fine.
@@GeorgeTheaterAtHome yeah thats my plan eventually, add them as an LCR behind my screen since I dont have space for more dedicated subs. I need to update my surrounds, but I want an on wall solution, wanted to stay in the svs fam but they dont have a great optioon, you can out the booksheleves on a wall arm or something supposedly but maybe the ascendo's would be better, thanks
Sadly hardly any one spoke about svs this year. They need to pick up their game. Put more speakers and subs in there if they want to at least have a chance to compete.
Most theaters movie theaters are running JBL very high efficiency speakers, best is to snag them on the second hand market.

I loved the RBH room. I want to check out their facility/showroom.
The Ascendo room was amazing. The Clapton clip was fantastic. Easily my favorite room.
Interesting. I was actually a bit disappointed with that room. Ascendo was the main reason I went to MWAVE, as I was considering them for my next speaker upgrade. Heading in a different direction now.
I liked JTR, RBH, and Grimani better.
@@brucecarter6205 I wish Ascendo would have played at reference level. They went out of their way to say they were playing at "realistic" levels, but it wasn't loud enough for me. The SVS room pushed it to reference upon request and it was uncanny just how much that made it sound like the other rooms. I also heard JTR's room at +2 over reference and enjoyed every second of it.
@@srtswpak47 I agree. That might have helped. JTR was the best room at the show for me for that very reason.
No doubt who plays loud and deep, but I thought the Ascendo was more detailed. They were all amazing.

@@bmac5971 For the most detail RBH hands down. Those AMT tweeters have incredible detail retrieval. Funny how different we all hear and perceive sound.
You are right though, all 4 rooms were amazing in different ways. 1) JTR 2) RBH 3) Grimani 4) Ascendo. RBH and Grimani were pretty much a tie for me. Grimani may have been the best overall, but I found that system a touch bright and fatiguing during the louder passages. Also, it could have used a bit more infrasonic bass.

@@GeorgeTheaterAtHome cool that you enjoyed it. These content creators for the most part are just pushing companies agendas. I’ve been doing UA-cam for awhile and pick up on certain things with their reviews. He seems nice tho.
I think he only publishes reviews when he likes the product.
