For those struggling with caked on stains from juices, sugars, and other organic material, I would highly recommend PBW (Powdered Brewers Wash). It is often used by homebrewers to clean their fermentation equipment. PBW does a fantastic job of removing organic stains that are hard to reach. Pair that with a faucet jet washer that attaches to your kitchen sink and you can clean most glass bottles without using a brush.
AKA you beat me with your comment. PBW is fantastic and a little goes a long way. Been using it for years. I came home from Goodwill a few hours ago and transferred the PBW solution resting in my yeast starter Erlenmeyer flask to the various cool flip-top bottles from my very lucky haul (which included a $7 Hamilton Beach 65250 DrinkMaster ?!?!). PBW is a dream. The flask was spotless after the 2 days of soaking. Question is, can a bar or home bartender build up a collection of bottles big enough to allow some to sit soaking in that potion? Ugh, hmm... The Crew products are great and appear to be a quicker fix.
I was about to buy those - could push about ~80-100$ to buy those bottles BUT getting them from US to Finland will cost yet another 85$... Not going to push almost 200$ for those - I hope they would offer some other shipping method OR even better, find a retailer from Europe... But hey, thanks for the review! It was interesting, as usual :3
Thanks for introducing me to these bottles a while ago! I've bought a set of 3 small bottles and pour spouts and they've become valuable to my home bar. What I appreciate is the ease of cleaning that the bottles provide.
@@Duckyz117 Yup, that works! If and when something really tenacious gets hold on those inner surfaces, and nothing else will shake it loose, i walk out back, grab some sandy stuff right off the ground, shake it up and.......presto, the haze is gone. Interestingly, it's the same "hack" that cowboys and such used 150 years ago. Butt.........with Crew Bottles, you won't ever need sand, just a fist full of dollars🐴.
Haven't had a problem clean my bottles, but a new bottle would only cost me $3. Spending $17.99 + Shipping on a bottle. Don't know how much money this would save me in the long run because I haven't had a problem with the ones I have.
So for anyone in EU who can’t get these, try to find a coffee supply store, they’ll carry kafiza. Kafiza is a lifesaver to all gunked up glass bottles. It’s original purpose is for cleaning espresso machines and tools, but putting a small bit in a glass bottle and adding very hot water will clean your bottle very very well. Leandro mentions it shortly toward the end of the video but does not tell you where you might find it or how to use it.
I have 6 of these and they've definitely paid for themselves with how much time they've saved me. I see a lot of new bar products coming out that don't look like they solve a real problem, but these things are totally legit and solve an actual problem. I've even dropped one and it survived unscathed
I purchased a set right after you mentioned them on the episode. They are really nice. The only con is that the base grips the counter, so if you touch the bottle instead of sliding it tips over. They are definitely shatter proof.
I got some for Christmas and freaking love them! So much easier to use than all the random bottles I had collected and was using. The cleaning is so easy! I need to pick up the 750ml one of these days.
i was hoping the cork would be rubber, thats such a great feature! Especially with the wood on top. Corks are tough cause sometimes you forget about them and they crumble in the bottle and then you have all this gross cork sediment in whatever you had in the bottle lol. Great bottle for sure.
I use the smaller version for my simple syrup at home and can attest to the ease of cleaning compared to the traditional glass bottles I use for lime or lemon juice. Those always leave marks after I clean.
Just wanted to say that pyrex used to be made out of borosilicate but it isnt anymore! They cheaped out and I believe they are just soda-lime glass now. Borosilicate is superior to modern pyrex.
That's my issue. I use glass bottles because...they're glass. Not glass and plastic. I can see how it would be beneficial in a commercial setting, though
Yeah crews are neat but their added time-saving utility regarding cleaning doesn't outweigh their 5-7x price per swing bottle (or infinitely more if you just remove labels and re-use liquor bottles) Also, the 750ml measuring line thing is neat but you'd think Crew would include something like a stand for when you're filling a bottle balancing it on it's narrowest point. Seems like a recipe for accidently spilling your infused liquor/syrup/juice all over the counter and floor and then your cleaning time will be exponentially increased.
captain log; this will be the first time I log my attempts to get Leandro & Marius (hop I spelled it correctly) to bless us with syrup volume 2! ooo boy would that be awesome!
just a quick bartending tip for anyone in here, a good way to clean 'that spot' in normal bottles is to put some crushed ice in there and shake it. that will take away all that gunk. make sure you still sanitize after.

So sold!

Nice!!! FYI: 👁 use about a tsp+ of sand w/water & soap in the bottle, shake vigorously, and everything inside is gone. Works every time!!!😁😁😁
You can also use a tablespoon or 2 of rice

I instantly fell in love with these, went to the website to buy six and now my dreams are crushed by 90$ shipping :(
Wow you weren’t kidding. I think I’m better off buying 1.76 bottles of Plymouth Gin
They have free shipping if u spend 75
Free shipping after 100
tons of valid points, great idea and good looking bottles. BUT, I don't think I can justify a $60 order for only 2 bottles and a couple of pourers.
Salt and rubbing alcohol is how I clean my glass bottles, just shake it until it's clean. Figured that out from countless bong cleanings.

I’ve found that they break really easy and start to deteriorate
I love Crew Bottles, I usually save up bottles for all my mixes, but these make life easier.

Who bought you such a thoughtful gift?
@@DavidRamseyIII My wife got them for me.
Just got three bottles delivered today! Looking forward to using them. Thanks for helping me spend my money. 😎
Makes infusions and cleaning SO much easier

These look cool, but I'm curious how long the bases will last before they start to leak?
I've had mine for about 2 years now and no issues yet

I have debated on getting these for awhile. Will get a couple of the smaller ones for sure.
Great wedding gift!
What about the base being plastic tho?
That's my issue. I use glass bottles because...they're glass. Not glass and plastic.
I can see how it would be beneficial in a commercial setting, though
I was convinced I'd be buying these today but they are just a little to expensive for me right now. I need to restock my rum.
have you tried cleaner beads for bottles?

Does anyone know where these can be bought in Australia? I looked at getting some from Crew but just the postage was a couple of hundred dollars.
Do they have a standard neck "size" so you can use normal speed pours or do you have to buy theirs?
Hi Leandro! Have you had any issues with the bottle leaking from the bottom? That was my only apprehension to making the switch.
No issues to date. I’ll keep ya’ll posted though

That's genius! Thanks for that, seems so simple when you think about it.
Fixed it 😉
$77 shipping to Germany for an Order of $144, so sadly: Nope...
Spoke to the guys at Crew and they're working on distribution in Europe. Fingers crossed they get it sorted soon.
Shpping cost to UK is £50 so a sharp no thx...
they are stupid expensive
