Hey trogly! I just started my obsession with Gibson! I recently got a 1967 Gibson LG-0 for only $400 with no breaks cracks or repairs and it’s started something inside of me!
That ending had me wondering if my computer was messed up!😂
@@josephsdsu1a lot of times during old school car commercials they would talk about how cool the car was in the first part and then at the end they would show the parked car and then suddenly this sped up voice talking about payment options and credit stuff.!
@@josephsdsu1 “do not take on am empty stomach”. “May cause cancer” etc etc it was ridiculous. Therefore funny.

Trogly having never heard of the island/country of Antigua is a new peak for his "sheltered/homeschooled kid" persona
Does one need to be familiar with every backwater country to not be "sheltered"?
Oh, it's in "Kokomo", it surely must be an important place that isn't a third world tourist trap!
@@rocketpigrecords3719 Yes just stay inside your turtle shell and ignore the outside world. learn nothing and be salty.
I’ve always thought he was homeschooled and just read a lot of books hence his weird pronunciations
FYI Jan Ackerman's Gibson was a Les Paul Recording customized with a flame top, wrap tailpiece and normal electronics. The guys who later formed Hamer guitars did the mods.
Antigua is an spanish word means Antique, and trog you pronounced it correctly!
And it's also the name of a city in Guatemala, so there's that.
I guess Trogly was referring to Antigua and Barbuda (UK: /ænˈtiːɡə ... bɑːrˈbuːdə/, US: /ænˈtiːɡwə ... bɑːrˈbjuːdə/)
@@WaurufEx yeah Guatemalan's speak spanish too ! and the city Name also means antique/ ancient/old hehe
All the guitars were sitting on asphalt. Really good chance to get scratched.
yikes! I'm not leaning my Les Paul's against a car.
I don't care about leaning it against a car, I'm worried about the bottom of every one of those guitars up against the asphalt.
Les Paul was known for signing a lot of guitars. but that LP with the additional information along with his signature. is definitely something special. and Les Paul didn't seem like a Toyota guy. he seemed more like a Cadillac or a Lincoln type of guy. I guess a person learns something new everyday.
Balanced against a shiny smooth car lol..
Funny, as a Connecticut resident, I recently saw this FB Marketplace post. Didn’t even think to send it Trogly’s way.
I grew up in CT, lots of cool music history and famous residents. Ace Frehley had a house there for a while.
I feel sorry for you having to live close to Ace Frehley. Hope you're fine...
@@niemand0 I think he was out of the state by the time I was born, I survived.
It was a bit before my time, but apparently Les Paul used to call into local radio stations around here all the time to talk about sports.
10:39 - Energy drink + morning coffee cocktail kicks IN.
The car commercial jargon speeded up is the best part of this video, authentic!
Had you really never heard of the country Antigua?
There ya go Troggy a whole museum collection for sale at once.
You made me play that last bit at half speed ha
What could be more 'rock n roll' than having your social security number on your axe?
125K……yeah his signature doesn’t carry that much value. Everything together on a blessed day might fetch half that amount.
The vocal car fine print at the end😂😂😂
I bought my 80 standard with original case for 500 bucks 28 years ago, guess I should have bought a few more...
Bravo Monster mystro 🎉
Hey Austin, You got right the antigua pronunciation, it just also means old in spanish
This is the closest I've seen this played live to the original recording on Reload, the slower tempo is a great sound a nice throwback!
That unnamed seller has done more to keep Les Paul's legacy alive than anyone.
Really a fun episode Trogly!
I wonder if the pickups on the LP at 6:07 are Seymour Duncan's unused SH-9 Silverbird set. Timeframe doesn't quite line up, but Duncan have expressed that that pickup was made for "a Gibson prototype that never made it to production."
Wow! I saw this listing and sent it to my dad, and now I see a video on it!
I bought a professional from a London guitar show. The seller handed me a cigar shaped adapter and said ' This is where your money is' not understanding what he meant at the time, I certainly do now. I think I am the only person in the world that has this adapter. I have emailed every seller that is selling these guitars , some get shitty with their responses. What the adapter enables these guitars to do is plug it into a guitar amp and make it sound like it should. If you plug into an amp with low empedent pickups, they have a very low output. Hence why many like the one you had were modified. I assume when they all got sold they came with these adapters but they got lost over time. The adapter is definitely original from the 60s.
Wow what a collection! 👍
Me:
- That acoustic is too expensive
- Those 10 guitars are too expensive
- Those 10 guitars and a car are too expensive 🚗
Looks like he wrote "Whats This" on that control plate
I'm kinda sure, on the LP Recording with the modernified control panel you're showing at the 8:50 mark, Les' inscription reads "Whats this?".
Those Les Paul acoustics are supposed to have a special cable that's very weird hard to find & expensive when you do find 1
If you actually go visit Antigua you won't be sad anymore.
Lol, that ending 🤣
Fender developed antigua by accident in the 70's and managed to sell them. It's no shocker that gibson started doing silverbursts with similar color tones not long after.
Wild crazy stuff
Excellent ending to the video!
That’s quite the ad, some very cool guitars and his 🚙!
Great episode thanks!
Have you seen the documentary film of Les playing the one with the "Paulverizer" tape looper on it? It would seem these were his own guitars AND the van he used to drive them down to NYC for his regular gigs.
Les Paul's Les Pauls and the horse they rode inn on?
Just when you think you have seen it all! A real Les Paul flat top acoustic?
I would have thought they would use a modified ES 175, at least.
In the '60's the late great guitarist for my older brother's band used a Les Paul Personnel like that one and a Recording short scale bass (with a straight neck, really). They did not stay together long enough to see the 'flame top" wave of far better sounding, far lighter weight models, yet I DID actually once pay just 400 bucks for a great one with a 9.9 flame top. Long ago, so long ago....
You get props for including that goofy fine print conclusion during the run out of this upload, Trogly. Would that Toyota have been the last vehicle Les Paul owned?
What a great idea. No stand rash issues to worry about.
Hey Trogly!, i recently bought a 1997 SG standard, it has an ABR-1 bridge but I'm not an expert to tell if the guitar came out of the factory with the ABR or a Nashville bridge
I like the Antigua finish LP too ! I said a while back in the comment section that Gibson should do an Antigua LP or ES-335 , and hell howsabout an Antigua Flying-V/2 ! Also dig the LP bass in that collection...Thanks Trog !
Les Paul's with angled pickups....naw man........that just screws up the universse.
Had a Les Paul recording back in the day. Paid 700.00. I think I got 700 when I sold it. Heavy!!!! My friend had a professional. This was late 70's. Never saw anyone playing one.
interesting collection!! you should buy it
I don’t know if you have seen The Bone Tomahawk movie but we Troglodytes get a bad rap in it! 😂
Some people are just DREAMING
The Antigua burst makes me want to vomit!
Evening Troglodytes!!
Les Paul lived in New Jersey. Why would he have a crappy car with Connecticut plates?
That Sakai has a zero fret, so open chords will be true.
It is Anteegooah in Spanish which is the language it is supposedly to be spoken, so you are saying it correctly
great video, historic
Love the guitar that bears his name.
Not keen on the guy himself.
Mushroom soup burst
I hope Trogly doesn't some up against a listing from Burkina Faso's capital - Ouagadougou. 🤣
Wtf this is like the avengers but with les pauls wtf
The micro machines guy at the end?
Well... I've got the same car.
Who knows, the license plate could have been for Leslie Paul, a cute blonde chick?
Antigua it’s antique in español ((it’s in femenine maybe because guitars are femenine in español, la guitarra))
I don't think #1 that collection is worth that much #2 he should be selling everything together including a CAR, and #3 he should even be selling these guitars that really aren't more special to anybody else than him
Les paul personal seems so interesting. Never heard of guitar with mic jack
lots of oxidation!!
Trogley it is Pronounced Antigua you are saying it right originally. The word means old/ancient in Spanish. Also yes the country is also spelled Antigua and pronounced the same way. Someone that doesn't know what they are talking about deceived you.
Am beginning to find your shows right after it's posted up.
I do have a microphone that looks like that I took a picture of it it's from the 1950s TV studio.. I took a picture how do I send it to you
Antigwa...ja-LA-peno...that guy Martina Navratilova...all good. 🤟
Haha, him calling Martina Navratilova a guy made me chuckle pretty hard.
I can see why though, if you aren't aware of her.
Another great and informative video Mr Trogly.
My surgery went well yesterday so I should be around for a few more years yet 😂
Cheers from NZ 😎🎸🤘
Why in the world would you stand up your collection of Les Paul guitar's (that you value to be $125k - the value of the car) up against an SUV on asphalt? If just one of those falls over you have a domino effect.
That would be a microphone input jack.
Yeah i want 125k worth of guitars that have been drug across the asphalt.
"Homonym" spelled the same, but pronounced differently. Say it how you want, Trogly.
Those trucks are going for crazy money these days, probably worth close to the asking price by itself..
You’re just too darn cool Trogley!!!!! I learn something from 90% of your videos. This one was information overload dude! I need a nap now! 😅
Butter 🧈 butter 🧈 butter

I get it but really how do they play/sound? Just looking at them I bet it's garbage, so really it's just a bunch of expensive wall hangers and a dated POS car right lol..I see all them knobs and switches and all I can think is gimmicky crap that's no good, of course I could be wrong but doubt it ..
I don't think #1 that collection is worth that much #2 he should be selling everything together including a CAR, and #3 he should even be selling these guitars that really aren't more special to anybody else than him
How dare Les Paul drive something with fenders
Underrated comment 👏 💯
Omg, you win!!!
