Wow, The day that I decided to unearth an old manfrotto222 from my cabinet which i haven't touched for MANY MANY years that has this exact same problem, you upload a video just for it just 3 days ago. Many thanks

Very much reminds me of disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling 1980’s Moto-Guzzi hand controls…..miniature versions of the same “three handed” contortions 😆😆😆!

Your equipment is well used just like mine. It is nice to see that. I watched for the sake of the adjustment screw and will probably use the bolt idea instead. Thanks.

I know I'm behind the game here but if you need a part to stay put a small dab of that silicone grease will hold it in place. This works great for holding nuts in sockets , screw heads in screw driver tips, ECT ECT.

A thick coat of grease on some of those parts will hold them in place while you are put it together. The red “tacky” grease is what I use for that sort of thing.
Possibly a drop of lock tight on the adjuster screw would do the trick on tjat part.
    Great video:)

your video helped me with my Manfrotto 3265 which was virtually identical, thanks, if I'd watched yours prior to opening up mine, not sure I'd have had the courage to unleash the allen wrench :)
fyi for others, if you lay the grip on its side and place nuts and tension spring in place along with the grip trigger base then place the other half on top you can start one of the 2 bottom grip bolts(prefer the one closer to the tiny set tightening screw which you had the long allen key on) then you can slightly spread the top half and insert the trigger spring and black plastic part that holds the spring behind the trigger top and compress it into the hole/groove then insert one of the 2 upper grip bolts
no idea if my description makes sense but if you get it, I think it helps :)

This guide was super helpful! Thanks a ton… it looked so frustrating but your video and discussion explaining what you were doing at each step were terrifically useful to me as I repaired mine (you and that adjustment screw/hut were very entertaining too). Hope you are well and having a great week!

I had the same issue! Literally just needed to screw the tension screw in a little more though. I wasn't bold enough to completely open mine 😅

I've had a wee bit of sucsess with doing simelar things by using grease, sometimes its got just enough tack to hold wee bastards like that in place till you get ahin in place.

is the joystick supposed to be able to rotate 360 degrees when it's locked?
