LOOOOL Jesusss as soon as i hit play my first thought was "wtf! Peter?" I had to read the comments to see if i was the only one but defenitely im not crazy
Well I was actually searching for a hack for my old Pioneer Stereo with surround sound in my home, but I quite enjoyed watching Peter's presentation. Peter your personality, sense of humour, and tea cup talk was quite refreshing! I'm a stagehand that lives in the U.S. and a lot of roadies are from U.K. so that's why I call your accent "tea cup talk". lol. Thanks for having an awesome sense of humor! (: Now back to figuring out how I can do a hillbilly delux engineering on my stereo myself. That's the only kind of "rigging" I excel at in my line of work. lol. carry on! and take care fine sir! your awesome!!!
Man, Peter Griffin for real! Bloody Hell! LOL...You sir are funny! Neat device and I'm probably 100 sure that the USB port is strictly a power only port for charging. A lot of car stereos today have a USB input located on the back of the car stereo that you can connect this to and it will charge and play audio from.
Thank you so much! I appreciate that more than you can ever know! My mum was on TV all my life. I was first put on camera as a child and did my first bit of radio aged nine. I love doing this stuff and feel a technophillia/phobia that makes my stripe of OCD resonate with urge to know why and then explain in terms that even I can grasp. It's a translation job.
Aww Caroline, thank you so much! I admit that this one is one of the better ones..but oh my there are lots more. I recommend the daft Ann Summers Travel Rabbit clip....
I dont know why but your voice and narration was pleasant and made me really relaxed haha. Good gadgets too, now I just have to figure out how to buy them in Australia.
I have an older vehicle, a GMC Sierra 2001 and wanted aux to play music from my phone. To my surprise, all you have to do is buy an FM transmitter from walmart for $20 and set it to a radio frequency like 88.1 FM on both the device and your radio. It works with adequate sound quality if you dont have Aux. Plus you can take hands free calls in older vehicles. Hope i helped out.
I'm assuming it'll be less reliable and probably worse sound quality than an aux one though? I'm trying to figure out how best to go about getting music from my phone in my 2001 car
Kenneth Thomas idk about cheaper but i like Adam's idea better why simply because i don't want a wire and and case and me tuning my radio i had that before and it was so annoying yes Adam's idea is a bit more complex but its easier no wires except the aux cord and i can still charge my phone at the same time also i just bought a Bluetooth transmitter on amazon for 12 bucks and no hands free even in calls =D
+Kenneth Thomas The problem is that you can interfere with radio stations. Someone was broadcasting on 91.7, well, we have a station on 91.7. Also someone was interfering with my station 87.9 (wjra radio) with one of those transmitters. Also the sound quality sucks! Take it from a Audiophile!
great elegant idea I was doing some research that my grandmother out so she can plug in her phone to listen to music most of the market stuff now as a bunch of wires and cables that you have to connect all over your car nice and simple connect and plug into cigar Outlet brilliant idea
Hi Adam Bobby from South Africa. I have a 2008 Corsa Van with an cd player but no usb or ipod jack. I like the little gadget from incartec but gave up trying to order it through their website. How can I get hold of one? Maybe here in SA? Nice show
ive fitted the phonos you can solder on to wires straight to the stereo speakers lead and they are louder so you can control your output into your amps
***** I just went ahead and bought a FM radio transmitter which works as a makeshift wireless aux cord for $5. Easier to get and use than do all of this

Its worth saying, when you mount the bracket, be careful where you put it, because in the event of an accident, it would tear a hole in your leg if you`ve put it in the wrong place.. Also, when you fit it, check theres nothing (like wires or pipes) behind the panel you drill/screw it onto.

I have a query : As the proud ( ? ) new owner of a 14 seater minibus, I have a generic car stereo/radio which does have an 'aux' socket on it's front panel, plus two rca sockets on it's rear - now the thing is, I have no desire or use for 'bluetooth' and besides the radio is not fitted with it either, BUT, I would like to be able to use a normal microphone for speaking to passengers - can I use my aux in socket or rca sockets for such a purpose ?
+Presenterbloke Thank you for the reply - I have tried a computer mic ( a very cheap one ) but there was no audio from the speakers. I know I sound dumb, but I don't know exactly what an 'aux' is for on a radio.....was hoping it would do what I needed it to, but never mind. Have a good Christmas.
+colliecandle Late, but - The microphone will provide way too low voltage for the input to register. You'd need a small microphone amplifier (microphone level to 'line' level) between the microphone and the input. Aux is is Auxilliary input. An input where you can attach other devices and have their sound run through/amplified by the main unit. It's another signal source to choose from, (Radio/CD(Tape)/Aux in...) For instance an iPod (which doesn't really have a line level output, but setting the volume correctly works well enough). Today this wired setup is a bit old and most use Bluetooth to transfer an audio signal from their phone instead of a dedicated audio file player. The signal level used for Aux in is normally referred to as 'Line level' or ~1V peak-to-peak. A microphone on it's own doesn't provide that, more likely. in the milliVolt range... Pretty much the same for home audio, a turntable's pick-up only provides very low voltages and to connect that to an amplifier, the amp either needs to have a specific input for that, or you can attach a pre-amp that boosts the signal to line level (and also applies the RIAA equalization) and you can then plug the output from the pre-amp into any line level input on the amplifier. These days some turntables do come with an internal pre-amp and do supply a line level output, but one needs to check. There are also Bluetooth to Aux in adapters. Connect it to the Aux in (and power) and you can then link a BT capable device (like phone) to the adapter, and get sound from the phone through the main unit without having to physically plug in the phone, despite the headunit not having BT functionality.

My car stereo doesn't have a USB input or AUX input. There is a socket extension for AUX input sold but could this device used on my stereo instead? my stereo has an AUX in option. I'm just wondering how the player could read a USB device.
