I would've added the Ambazonia War in Cameroon, the civil war in the Central African Republic and the insurgency in Southeastern Nigeria too. Because the rebel groups control some territory there as well while local governments struggle to take them back. I also would've mentioned the conflict between Somaliland and Somalia even though this is debatable whether or not they are rebels or an independent state.
Why not mention how many people died in all conflicts? Why just in Gaza? In Ethiopia over half a million civilians. In Sudan 61k civilians. Russia Ukraine a total of 1 million. Fact check
This video could have benefited from a bit at the end linking together all of the conflicts in West Asia. The Israel-Gaza war led to Hezbollah joining in to support Hamas - they had been firing rockets into Israel since October 8th. That directly led to Israel invading (the Israel-Hezbollah conflict) which led to a significant degradation of Hezbollah's military capabilities. As a result, Hezbollah was not able to provide their normal military support to Assad in Syria. Additionally, Russia has been left weakened by the Russo-Ukrainian war and was also unable to support Assad's government. These two factors almost directly led to the collapse of Assad's government. The Syrian government's collapse has meant that Hezbollah has lost a vital supply corridor with Iran through Syria. Hamas and Hezbollah are both widely regarded as Iranian proxies or at least allies which means Iran has been left in a strategically weakened situation. Iran has been unable to really use its proxies to indirectly attack Israel which is probably what prompted them to directly attack Israel with a missile barrage in October 2024. Israel's response to that was a series of airstrikes on Iranian air defenses, especially near their nuclear facilities and oil production facilities which make up a big chunk of the economy. One of the crucial aspects of that attack was that the main fighter jets that Israel used were all F-35s. They were most likely chosen for their stealth capability which allowed them to fly across Syrian air defences undetected. Notably, Israel only targeted western Iran, most likely because the F-35 does not have the range to go further without some kind of refuelling. Refuelling was not possible because the skies between Israel and Iran include Syria which had hostile air defence systems. After the collapse of the Syrian government though, Israel has destroyed almost all of Syria's military equipment including their air defences. This means that Israel is now able to attack Iran with non-stealth jets which make up the bulk of their air force and they are also able to penetrate into all of Iran because they can have refuelling tanker jets safely in the skies over Syria. We're now in a situation where for 2025, it is arguably the best time it has ever been for Israel to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities for once and for all before they are able to produce nuclear weapons. With Russia still distracted and unable to support Iran along with Trump in the White House giving Israel a blank check to do anything, a pre-emptive attack on Iran, possibly in coordination with Saudi Arabia, will look incredibly tempting. It's also worth pointing out that Iran has likely not installed new air defences around their nuclear facilities and oil facilities because they are under extensive sanctions and there is very little chance Russia is able to spare quality air defences right now.

It's a big mistake to say "the buffer zone seized by Israel". They occupy more land than the gaza strip now in syria, they occupied many syrian territory and even shot at protesters. They took over the syrian side of Jabal l Sheikh (aka Mt Hermon). As another commenter pointed out, it's a buffer for their buffer, and to note that this movement was the most unprovoked action by Israel to date.
@MrRabbit772 but that still doesn't mean it is not an occupation, and as you said, they won't try to keep "MOST" of it, so they will likely keep some of it, without any provocation from the Syrian side. The issue with this is that anyone who speaks about peace with Israel has his arguments made moot by pointing out the fact that Israel can just occupy your land unprovoked even if you didn't attack them.

1. Israel and Syria have been at war since 1973 when Syria invaded Israel, no official ceasefire was signed, both sides have routinely fired or bombed each other for +50 years so it's not exactly a "hot" war 2. Why mention civilian casual ties? There are civilian casualties in literally every other war mentioned why specifically mention them in this case? 3. Because they are an Iranian backed group? Like Hamas and Hezbollah? They're informing about the ongoing overarching Iran-Israel war which these groups play a part as Iran's proxies. 4. Assad was a brutal dictator who massacred thousands of his own people, it's not biased to say they are free from his rule. 5. Israel annexed the Golan Heights in 1981... It's been Israeli territory longer than it ever was Syrian territory. It's internationally recognized by the US as core Israeli territory. There's no active military occupation there and the civilians living there, Jewish or not have citizenship, in what way is it defacto occupied?
@@guybental5716 1: what's your point? Whether you believe it started in December or 50 years ago, he didn't mention the Israeli conflict with syria. 2: because there he's describing a specific attack and called it "audacious." In the other cases he's pointing out overall conflicts. 4: yes it is biased, especially as he doesn't highlight the islamist nature of the people who replaced him. It very well could be that they're not "free" at all. 5: the only two countries who recognise the golan heights as Israeli territory are israel and the USA. All 193 other countries in the world containing 7.7 billion out of 8 billion of the world's population, do not recognise this annexation. This includes some of Syria's enemies such as Turkey (recent ally but you get my point) and israel's allies such as the UK. More countries recognise the Russian annexation of crimea than recognise the Israeli annexation of the golan heights. Thus by international law, this is not a valid acquisition of territory. Also there is an active military presence, hence why Israel was able to move troops to southern Syria.

They don’t want any peace deal they refuse to allow Jews to live. Period. Nowhere at all. And they even said once they end every Jew life in the Middle East they want to do the same in Europe.
It was so random as well, Russia was occupied in a war and they thought, hm now would be a great time to go after Israel and then then Iran loses everywhere except in Yemen which could quickly turn into a parking lot by US-Israeli bombings if they keep firing missiles at Israel. Like come on man be like Egypt and just give up fighting Israel it always turns out extremely poorly and they always end up losing more land, personnel, and equipment.

Nice one TDLR, be interesting to review these on a 6m basis, and add/subtract new ones and see if the world is getting better or worse. Happy 2025 to you all. Hope you are going to be busy this year.

This is a very morbid new years tradition
3:12 boko haram is long dead, now its ISWAP in nigeria(who killed the leader of boko haram)
I clicked this to hopefully get an update on the anglophone war in Cameroon, no luck.
i know you attempted to cover every war, but it felt like, atleast in israel's case, you didnt really talk about the war in a comprehensive matter. for example, you didnt really mention who israel was fighting in lebanon, or the exchange of attacks with iran. feels like important information, not even in a political sense.
u do Great making it simple-- i am looing for the one on each election in 2025

That's not the buffer zone... it is only a few kilometers and can barely be seen in this map...
It is a land area twice the size of Gaza and the highest point in the region
@papertigerbrigade5496
No, it doesn't. The highest highest estimates are 592 km². The confirmed area is very small. Gaza is 365 km²
Love this new TLDR
Great video.
Yours map described as North Kivu is actually the map od South Kivu
This whole video can be summed up to "there is a lot of wars going on"
Why not mention how many people died in all conflicts? Why just in Gaza? In Ethiopia over half a million civilians. In Sudan 61k civilians. Russia Ukraine a total of 1 million. Fact check
because those haven’t been bought to international courts on genocide charges. civilian casualties have been the main event in israel’s wars
@BarginsGalore how many civilians died in Gaza?
War never changes
If u include proxy wars that map is a lot more colourful
It's also worth pointing out that Iran has likely not installed new air defences around their nuclear facilities and oil facilities because they are under extensive sanctions and there is very little chance Russia is able to spare quality air defences right now.
oh are you trying to start the year in a good place? well here's EVERY WAR HAPPENING ON EARTH RIGHT NOW 😂
In Syria it wasn't a civil war, it was a revolution
The survey page only has radio buttons for 1st-7th, how can we rate 8th-10th? I've sent an email to the site as well with a screen cap.
The world's most influential person is either Rupert Murdoch or another similar media mogul.
Hope we see a more peaceful world...
7:40 NO they are not "separatist", their project is a decentralized plurinational Syria on the base of what they have already accomplished in the Northeastern quarter of the country since 12+ years, which is not only Kurdish majority but multi-ethnic. Please correct !!
The Kurds have their own state and have their own taxes, they're just not recognised from the international community, it's fucking pathetic!
Inacceptable that you mention all the wars and forget the conflict in the English speaking region of Cameroon 🇨🇲. Why are some countries conflits are neglected ?
its tough to cast votes in google forms. if we plan to change the rankings, its kind of triicky, so didn't vote in the end

I'm going to be really annoyed by how others vote, I already know it.
This is not representative of humanity as a whole, but rather of bad individuals in leader positions doing bad choices.

Why do they need another $8bn exactly?
It's a big mistake to say "the buffer zone seized by Israel". They occupy more land than the gaza strip now in syria, they occupied many syrian territory and even shot at protesters. They took over the syrian side of Jabal l Sheikh (aka Mt Hermon).
As another commenter pointed out, it's a buffer for their buffer, and to note that this movement was the most unprovoked action by Israel to date.
Israel won’t try to keep most of it.
@@petermahfouz6547remember how Syria has massive amount of war crimes in military depots? And they extremes antisemtism of Muslims. . Israel is mostly destroying chemical plants and other illegal operations Syria has before the Isis related groups take complete control over the land. missing ongoing civil war in the philippines
What about the Tigray war?
5:50 I’m surprised how you didn’t mention Israel’s incursion into Syria and the bombing of the military capabilities of the former Syrian army.
6:20 Why you didn’t mention that there were civilian casualties?
6:35 Why surrender to the urge of saying Iran-backed group?
7:10 Why say “Free from Assad rule”?I thought this channel isn’t biased.
7:19 Why the map doesn’t show the occupation of the Syrian golan heights by Israel?
1. Israel and Syria have been at war since 1973 when Syria invaded Israel, no official ceasefire was signed, both sides have routinely fired or bombed each other for +50 years so it's not exactly a "hot" war

Irans “Axis of Resistance” crumbled in one year…I don’t like Israel and I do think there is a genocide happening, but I’m honestly wondering what the hell they were thinking Oct 7th
Listen to actual Palestinians. They will tell you what they think. When interviewed before the bs propaganda they spew during the war they made it clear what they want. They don’t care about building a country or living in peace. They don’t love their children (yes many women literally said that, in fact they said they only had children hoping they would sui b9mb Israeli children and become martyrs). They don’t want any peace deal they refuse to allow Jews to live. Period. Nowhere at all. And they even said once they end every Jew life in the Middle East they want to do the same in Europe.
The problem is that the vast majority of people m*rdered in the genocide weren't even aware Oct 7th was being planned. 20,000 of them are children!!
The gaza resistance wanted to make a deal on Oct 7. They wanted to release their peoples, majority of whom were in jewish prisons for decades.
