And this is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not do the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin 1 John 1:5-7

The topic of 6 -24 hour days vs the idea a day could have been a million years came up in our Bible study group yesterday. Well, too long to text but my response was that I take the entire Bible literally including the 24 hour days. I asked the question, if we can't believe that, what other doctrines will we believe or not believe.
You should take the Bible literarily not literally. Is Jesus a door? Have you ever studied the early church fathers and the church writings that followed? No one is in agreement about Gen 1. No one made a church creed (canonized doctrines) of 7 literal days until recently with the 7th Day Adventists. All the early creeds was willing to do was say “God Created” when they most certainly had good reasons to state “time” in creation against the several false teachings happening around them all the time…but they wouldn’t because Gen 1 is not actually clear. It can legitimately be taken several ways. I believe God did this (confused time) for good reasons.
Thank you so much David for discussing how God made distinctions very clear. It is also clear that our current culture wants to do away with all of those distinctions. God bless you brother.
AMEN!! Our preacher uses Romans 4:17 ALL THE TIME for the same effect😳. He tells us to "Speak it as if it were so". We're Praying for God's guidance in finding a new Church to attend. Until then, our eyes are open and we have discerning hearts. 🙌
"For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little." - Isaiah 28:10 - Pastor David follows Isaiah 28:10 the best. 🙏
Exodus 20v11 For in six days the Lord made the heaven and the earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: therefore the Lord blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it.
A day is the time period of a full rotation of the Earth with respect to the Sun. Without a sun there is no time. Remember this -that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. So it is possible that the first 3 "days" of creation were accomplished in a limbo between "time" and eternity. The first 24 hour day began on day 4.Something to ponder.
God is outside of time, he made time for us. A day can be a thousand years to the lord, and vice versa however when he put a number by a day - His creation, and added evening and morning we know that is a day. The Hebrew word for Day is YOM meaning 24 hour-period. Didn't Jesus say there were 12 hours of daylight? Do you think it took Josha thousands of years to walk around the wall of Jerihco, or Johna was in the whale for thousands of years? Does anyone question the word day in either the OT or NT other than Genesis?? NO! By the way God endowned man with a "mind" to create, dream, imagine, and wonder about his envioement/world around him to be curious to explors etc. Man created science, and science is and has been ever changing. God just bestoed him [man] with intelligence to create all the different principles of various sciences. If God created science, it would never be wrong or outdated. God gave animals brains who basely operate by instinct. We are made in God's image!
Thank you for your comment on “some scientists who think” there was a canopy or water vapor in the sky. Understanding this is all speculative, I agree with you, this is an interesting thought, concept. Also, I thought Henry Morris’s comments were thoughtful. Seems to make a lot of sense. The garden was perfect.
The universe is so fine tuned FOR life that it had to be first present by Gods initial creation before He could make life in it. Not our rules, but God’s subjectively observed rules.
Of course the world was created in 6 literal days. How can "evening and morning was the first day etc" mean anything else? The people who say the world is billions of years old have obviously got it wrong!
It is also 7 literary “days” with the 7th day not ending… What’s the big deal? “In the beginning…”, when was that? That’s a totally separate independent clause. Do you know the when? Were you there when God began the creation of our universe from nothing? How much time elapsed from then until the earth was formed and ready for a personal touch of God for an even more miraculous event of creating life? God is just putting things in such a way so that our puny minds can grasp some understanding and use it. Yes God set out a PATTERN of 7 useful symbolic “literal literary days” to follow and use. So says our early church. Like it or not, Gen 1 literary genre is Historical Mythology and more within the biblical anthology. That actually in no way means it is myth in it’s common derogatory use as false fiction. Ask a Mythologist. I even looked up the Greek word “Mythos”…it can mean false, true, or a mix of truth and story. For us it is true story. The Bible is not a book of empirical science. It is a book of theological truths. The important thing is that you get the THEOLOGICAL TRUTH’s like all before us-God is the CREATOR who creates from nothing and not just another false god who creates from already existing matter, polemically slaps all the false gods in the face (do a deep study and you will see all the ANE gods He puts down) and sets a pattern for our use in day to day life. God does the naming, purpose and function assignments-not the false gods. There is no other Higher Most Powerful God that can be overtaken like in the other ANE religions. He establishes His Triune Godhead and the existence of His Divine Council in Heaven involving the angels created before us. The first thing He does is after the actual formation of the Earth in His amazing first miracle of creating the universe itself was to establish His Son and His grace, love and peace toward us-the Light. Amazingly in Gen 1-11 He sets forth the entire world’s separated mythology into the theological truth’s-for these things did happen. These are the things we should ponder…not worry about a set in stone starting of time…no one knows but God.
Do we not take cultural and knowledge development into context? Who, when, was God speaking to then? What was their understanding of time…day? They understood “day” in many ways along with long concepts of it. They came in and out of cultures that had long time periods of creation. They knew creation accounts and time frames very well. They didn’t need it explained, but they did need a sensible daily work and worship pattern to follow….. God had to explain in the terms of their era in the ANE.
Pastor Lance replies - And the way that you have expressed is indeed one of the way some view the account of creation in Gen 1-3 - as more allegorical an pre-scientific. But it's an assumption that has to be layered onto the text, not drawn from the text itself. If, in fact, God is real and all-powerful, then the account in those chapters cold have proceeded largely as described. There are nuances in the Hebrew that in fact square nicely with what science DOEs tell us about the fabric of the Time-Space-Matter Continuum we call the universe.
To believe in creation then one has to believe in a Creator! Pretty logical, but then it means that if we have a Creator then we are beholding to that Creator...evolutionists don't want that responsibility. I lived in Shrewsbury UK for over 30 yrs ( Darwin's town ), a lot of the locals are obviously very proud of Darwin, but quite a few of the churches came together to pray against the lies of evolution....I refer to them as lies, because when scientific evidence is brought to the table proving creation it was generally countered with pseudo science. as C.S Lewis wrote....the dwarves are for the dwarves. Great teaching.
I wouldn't call Darwins theories lies but unproven conjecture. Some theories can be proven by scientific analysis but Darwins ideas remain just a theory.
I’m new and so thankful for your videos! For clarity, are you meaning dinosaurs when you say fossils? Are you interpreting them as only fossils, never living? I need more info!
Hi, I'm not sure what your question is refurring to, but if you are meaning dinosaur's in scripture in Job God describes two. He describes In Job 40 from verse 15 “Behold, Behemoth, which I made as I made you; he eats grass like an ox. 16 Behold, his strength in his loins, and his power in the muscles of his belly. 17 He makes his tail stiff like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are knit together. 18 His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like bars of iron. Who in verse 25 he drinketh up a river. Then all through chapter 41 God describes the strength of Leviathan. I hope that helped.

Genesis 1 says nothing about water "vapor"; you're adding that word to fill the gap in your understanding, sir. The Bible says God created a firmament/expanse/vault to separate the waters above from the waters below, and that's it. I understand this creates a cognitive dissonance for most of us because it goes against what we're taught by pseudo-scientists like NASA, but don't take MOST of Genesis 1 literally and then fill in the rest with your imagination. Genesis 1 teaches that there is a firmament around us that must have a solid surface at the outer edge of its expanse to keep the waters above at bay; THIS explains how God flooded the Earth in Genesis 7:11 where it says He opened the windows of the heavens and the springs of the Earth i.e., God opened the firmament and used the waters above and the waters below the firmament to flood the Earth. Also, Genesis 1 debunks the idea of heliocentrism, a galaxy, a universe, and space; there is only the Earth, the Seas, the firmament comprising the atmosphere we live in with a solid outer surface, and the sun, moon, and stars which the Bible says are IN the firmament. Directly above the firmament is water, and directly above the water is Heaven where God's Throne is. This is why the sky is blue like water in the daytime. This is why stars shimmer like translucent lights either in water or with water above them (Google actual video footage of stars NOT taken by NASA). Nasa ironically is a Hebrew word which means to deceive/beguile/trick as used in Genesis 3:13 when Eve said the serpent tricked her. The Heliocentric Globe Earth Theory, Theory of Evolution, and Big Bang Theories are all satanic in nature and designed to keep us thinking that we are meaningless masses of cells in a never-ending universe and especially keep us from knowing the Truth of Creation and how close our Creator really is to us.
