Yo, Avatar 3 was supposed to be released this year in 2024 December. James Cameron and Sigourney ain't getting any younger, we need to wrap up 5 to 6 movies before both of them also leave the material plane. Even though James finished the script, I have no faith in any other director able to pull of directing the final films.
One doubt where did all the army go and only the family was left during the fight.. I was waiting for the next movie for years and the story line was no where near the first avatar movie.. the visuals were great.. no doubt about it though..
I know it would be absurdly expensive but I would love a documentary / mood series using original material. Like, surely it might be doable if such a show was produced alongside a movie production and simply grab all the stuff that was left ont he cutting floor.

"these whale-like creatures -" they're people. why is official media still talking about them like they're animals on and off?? it's been firmly established that they are people. if you called the na'vi "creatures" that would be pretty obviously problematic. it's not different for the tulkun just because they don't look like humans. either they're people or they're not but you gotta pick one and stick with it not establish that they're people and then talk about them like they're not sometimes (things from the RDA's perspective are obviously different, but this seems like it's supposed to be Objectively Correct Meta Information)
What really bugs me is why their vertebrates seem to be all hexapods (two pairs of anterior limbs and one pair of posteior limbs) with two pairs of eyes, while only the Na'vi are the only ones with only one pair of anterior limbs and only one pair of eyes... Rather anthropomorphized, don't you think?
@melanieschmidt673 The first concept arts came out for Avatar 3 where they had red paints and feathers. Just I believe it would look cooler if the local Na'vi tribes would adapt to the biome with different skin colour.
