At such a depressing time like now, with the COVID-19 pandemic in full effect, I have turned to my hobby of die cast model airplane collecting to keep my spirits up!
Earlier this month, I visited my friend Elliot at Gemini Jets HQ in Las Vegas, NV. I take a look at the entire Gemini Jets collection in 1:200 and 1:400 scale on display. These special die-cast model aircraft include a Qantas B787 100th,a Boeing 747 Dreamlifter, a Thai Royal Barge 777-300, a Lufthansa 747-8, a Emirates A380, a British Airways B747 and a KLM B747.
I also look at a model airport set up and the warehouse of Gemini Jets. The 1:200 A380 in Gemini Jets weighs 3.8 lbs, that's a lot of weight for a model airplane!

I've been collecting Schabak 1/600 scale models since the 1980's.
Love them because of the small size.
I have one Gemini Jet Air Jamaica A320 model because I'm from Jamaica and used to fly on them. Also, it was the best color scheme of any airline, ever!

I love collecting Die-cast models of different types of aircraft, I like the 1:400 size, I also have a few 1:200 size. My favorite plane is the AN-225 in 1:400 size.

They took it from South Korean flag but they couldn't use it exactly the same because of the law. So they added white stripe in the middle and that made it look like pepsi logo 😅
My favorite model is the JetBlue E190 in the “Blueprint” livery. Not only because I flew on that plane once, but, I really love the detail on that livery. :)

Sam, thank you for your fun and energetic travel / aviation videos. I have recently discovered your work and really enjoyed watching several of your travel vlogs. This vlog on die cast jets was terrific. You asked for us to respond in the comment section with info on our favorite jet. My favorite is definitely the Pan Am 747 Clipper from 1968. My grandparents were between California and Hawaii. Therefore, each trip on the Clipper was a trip to see my grandparents in Hawaii or California. My favorite jet to collect isn't so much a jet. It's the models of the space shuttle orbiters.

Hey Sam your videos are very entertaining to watch. I am a huge airplane model fan but I only have 1 model. And the reason to that is because in Canada there is no Gemini jets headquarters. It would be awesome if they added another one in Canada. But anyways I have been a fan for such a long time.I appreciate ur time and effort on these amazing videos. Thank you!

Hey Sam, I love how you branch off on different aspects of aviation, to even a passionate hobby about aviation. It's like a nice treat for us aviation enthusiast. Speaking of which, have you ever been or heard of Miniatur Wunderland? It's a small mini world controlled by smart chips in each vehicle, aircraft, and etc.
What made them so popular, was the miniatur airport that's modeled after Hamburg. It's amazing the amount of detail they put into their projects, literally everything has it's own function and is operated by a smart computer, that move and perform various task. The miniatur wonderland even has working boats and submarines! Anyways, I'm getting off topic, but would love to see you make a video about the miniatur airport, if you ever get a chance. Keep up the great work!

Great video, my personal favourite is my 1:200 Northwest Bowling Shoe 747-400. I hope to see an LTU MD-11 and Air Pacific 747-200 in 1:200 scale one day!
What an awesome video. It’s good to see where our model collection originates from before it hits eBay and other buying portals. In my case my favorite model is Angola 🇦🇴 Boeing 747 and Boeing 777 (old livery) I myself collect 1:200 models and have my own 1:200 airport scale model in Miami. Thanks for the awesome videos!

Problem with Gemini is it is so hard to find some of the real cool older models. The Aeromexico 767-300 in the old school chrome livery is still a bucketlist find of mine. On that note I feel very fortunate to have gotten my Avianca 767 when I did.

I have to say my favourite model is 100% the Gemini 200 BA 787-10 G-ZBLA it's such a fantastic looking model, the 777-300ER is another fab model too. But the Gemini Jets HQ in Vegas is definitely on the bucket list for places to visit.
The 747-400 was the first plane I was ever able to identify (around 7 years old) and it has been my dream to fly on one ever since. I have looked at them through airport terminal windows for years. In fact a few years ago I saw a KLM 747-400 at Chicago O’Hare and I got so excited. It truly is the plane that started my love of aviation.

Sam, thanks to you and this particular video, I have finally started my model airline collection. You were just like a kid in the candy store and you covered this so well that I purchased my first model at 1:00 in the morning. Talk about a million mile man, you have more than definitely worn those shoes.

I know there is a lot of younger people coming into this hobby and that's great! It keeps it alive, but I'd still love to see more older liveries. Nostalgic to my childhood. Hard to choose just one favorite though. One is the Delta 727-200 in the widget, another is the Northwest 744 in the bowling shoe, and 3rd is my southwest canyon blue 733, one that got away is the Delta L-1011-500 would be in heaven if I ever got one.
Something different for April Fools, I like it. Nice collection. I like their Concordes the most. Reminds me of the Knuffingen miniature airport in Hamburg.

This is my dream shop. I also have a collection of some planes. I travel on planes as per the aircraft configuration. 747 is my favorite aircraft and its the first plane I flew. Good work Sam, I am fan of your work also.
I remember my first time at the Gemini Jets store. I called my friends waiting outside and told them they can leave and I would call them when I am ready to leave. I was there for a while! I was in complete awe.

This video gave me the last little push to start collecting these diecast plane models (1:200), together with the retirement of the KLM 744. So the first one I bought in april 2020 was the Inflight200 version of the KLM 744 (PH-BFT) with a collectors coin. Now we're 19 months further and I'm currently sitting on 61 models, which 27 of them are KLM. All by Gemini, Inflight, JFox, WB-Models, Herpa, Aviation200 and JCWings.
It's been a little financial disaster, but it's my little financial disaster which makes me a happy man! And the fact the Aviation Megastore south of Schiphol is just a 80 minute drive (doesn't) help!

Man, I am so late to this 1/200 scale planes game! I only just became aware of these sweet models just a few months ago. My first was a Gemini Jets 1/200 UPS MD-11. I love it! I want to get one of each type of UPS planes, including all of the variants of their 747's. Along with many of the other freighter 747's from other airlines too. I hope Gemini will do another Battleship Grey United 747-400, as I actually flew in one of those in May 1999.
