Apple Guard works incredibly well to protect the Undyed. I had an Undyed A5 Appunto that was guarded, and it never got smudges, and evenly patina’d. I had it for a year. The Undyed is gorgeous leather!

Hi Sam - I believe the reason for the larger feeling backplate in the VDS is that the Touch Me is sold with either 25 or 30 mm rings. Because the binders are pre-manufactured though, the larger 30 mm backplates are sewn into all of the binders. Then when someone orders 25 or 30 mm rings, they pop those rings in - but the backplates are the ones officially designed for the 30 mm rings.
Makes sense. The backplate still feels much larger than the Moterm one. I still love the VDS, but do wish the spine was a littler *softer*.

I have owned a Gillio in personal and A5 and now I’m in an A5 VDS. I felt the Gillio was too narrow and I also didn’t love the pocket configuration. I adore my VDS and not sure another cover can beat it. Although the back plate is kinda lame.
I will say the A6 Gillio has a better pocket setup than the personal for my use.
I love the undyed but I just can’t let myself relax and not worry about staining even though I love the look of a well loved planner, just not mine 🙈😂

I did end up parting with the undyed. I just can’t breathe knowing I might get something on it. Aside from the backplate, I prefer VDS over Gillio but if it’s the right Gillio, I still love it.
The VDS backplate is for 30mm rings since they give the option of either 25 or 30. It is bulky for sure.
You can also customize the pen loop if you get a custom. My next one I want to enlarge it to fit a sarasa dry pen.
I've only ever used personal rings but they are too big for me to leave the house with (I work from home mostly.) Maybe I should try an A6 for my purse carry as I do go on appts & travel with my planner. You got me thinking. Lol
It isn’t as easy to travel with as a pocket, but I can’t make a pocket work at all. You should try it!

Hi I have a question. Where does a person get the yearly planner pages from?
You cant really appreciate leather products if you cant appreciate the character that accumulates with it over time in the marks, scratches, color changes etc. Thats leather for you, thats why people buy leather for things like planners- and good boots, haha.
I ordered a custom VDS with 20 mm rings. I thought since it was custom it would have the smaller backplate, but it still came with the larger one. I waited almost 4 months for it and I was so disappointed. I ended up selling it two days after I got it.
That’s disappointing. I wonder if you can request a smaller back plate?
@@samplans I don't know. I just wish it would have been clearer in the description or ordering process.
@@samplans Hi, you can request a smaller back plate. I have 30mm rings in my personal size, but asked for a 25mm back plate, and reduced the spine by 5mm, so it's slimmer. It cost more, but not that much, and it was very worth it. I'm not sure about all the sizes tho, but you can ask about almost anything, and they will do it if it's possible :)
I just want to add that it's only available for a custom planner, and not for the planners who ships right away.
In the future you can contact Moterm and they will ship your planners together and only charge one expedited shipping fee.

Thank you for the comparison. Could you do a comparison of a personal binder vs the A6 vs B6? I have never actually seen a A6 binder and I am intrigued.
I have a personal Malden and these A6 rings, but I’ve never seen B6 rings. I could compare my B6 cover for a Stalogy though.
Have you thought about putting the Gillio in the sun to patina it faster?

@@samplans I have to tell you, I have been in a weeks for 3 years and LOVE! it. But a couple weeks before your video of your switch to rings, I started obsessing over rings and have watched hours of rings videos. I’m so scared to make the switch, though. I have never been in rings so I wouldn’t know what I was doing. Ugh!
Rings are so functional!! I would recommend finding some freebies for rings and print out a few different sizes (personal is closest in dimensions to the Weeks). Do some mock planning in the trials, or “back plan” so that you can see what layouts you might like (or not) before jumping completely in.
If you like the Pockets then why move to a different one?
Overall I prefer the VDS.
Painted edge is what’s on the closures. VDS will last much longer.
I do love VDS.
What is the purpose of the fly leaf?
Some people use them as decor, sometimes they do have pen loops or card holders but a lot don’t.
It doesn't matter if you're going to pay money for anything that means you worked hard to get it doing doing videos is not a joke. When you edit your videos it's not easy it takes time well guess what you pay big money for that and it should be used it's like buying a car and sitting it outside and looking at it. And I wish people would understand it doesn't matter you put a lotion on your hands and you can't get on that planet don't buy it because it's not worth it's made to be used it's made to be productive. And if anything you buy is not productive and made to be used they are cheating you out of your money.
