Origami Hinged Gift Box Tutorial - Paper Kawaii

- Learn how to make a hinged origami box! It's made from 2 sheets of paper and no glue. This origami gift box is perfect for many different kinds of presents, or store things in them. ♥︎ Easy to make!

I'd like to call these 'Origami Prism Boxes', thanks to my discord community for helping me choose a name. 😊
It's been a while, for the next few weeks at least, I have tutorials to upload and more planned.
Next up are 2 more versions of this origami box, a small cube version and a long version.
This origami box features the same process as two previous boxes created, the origami stepper box ( • Origami Secret Stepper... ) and the origami pencil box ( • Origami Pencil Box Tut... ).
This version has an inner box/lining. The box could be used without the inner box, for things like cakes or cookies for example.
I recommend using thick or thick textured paper for this origami hinged box. Using textured paper will be better for keeping it shut.

Wow. Something I really like about this channel is that you do it at a reasonable pace. When I watch other videos and I try to do it I have to pause like 50 times...
They also have to take their time with precise movements and measure how short or long they crease so it does make sense. I think other videos speed it up that's why

A simple but elegant box. If using the S curve, can any rectangle sheet of paper work? I absolutely love/gift boxes. Thank you for making this video for us. You did a marvelous job, showing us how to do it. I have some pretty papers, which,are perfect for this, and I want to make some, as gifts for friends and some for myself.
Yes you can use any size paper, the box will be different depending on what size used, I have two more videos of this box coming up, one made from square and the other from half square 🙂
Is the size paper you used 8.5 x 14?

Somehow my inner box came out bigger than the outer one so it didn't really fit. I tried glueing and now it's a bit better but it's still not good. Maybe it's because I haven't done this box before or because I missed a line; do you have any tips against my problem (apart from doing the box more often and paying attention more closely)?
But apart from that, good video, it is (or seems to be) simple but it's still challenging ^^

You can make other sizes.. I'm not sure what size paper you'd need for those measurements though :)

If you’re still interested in making this, you flatten the two tabs on the inside of the dark blue paper so the two pieces lie flat against each other.
Change the playback speed to make it slower

So the inner part or the 2nd part would fit better if it were 1cm square smaller

You would need 4 x 2.83 ft (122 x 86.3 cm) - though I have no idea what kind of paper is this big...!

Omg.. this is sooo cute... Ughhhb i wish i have A. Hand coordination dexterity to pull this off, and also B. Plenty of time to make aroung 20 of them, in a weekend.
Great box, easy enough to put together but at 12.25 your hands cover the piece so its difficult to see how best to fold the outer box piece to get the inner box piece in.
I'm glad you like the box :) Sorry if it's unclear, you don't need to do anything to the outer box apart from opening it slightly so you can slot the inner piece in.
And this is why I'm subbed to you you make the best things that somehow I need
