Did a play test over about two weeks even playing a big band gig. The HR is easy to play and probably a great mouthpiece for many. I ended up going back to my Drake Contemporary 1 with brass chamber as it just projects better for me and has more “overdrive “ for rock/fusion. And it’s a bit louder too. The HR DV is definitely worth a try though.
I have a Jody Jazz HR 8* and it’s an amazing mouthpiece for playing salsa and that kind of style of music, it gives a lot of depth to the sound and it cuts through 😂
Sounds great, but it suffers a bit from being a good all rounder - doesn't quite do either of the extremes- high, poppy or softer jazzy - as well as the other 2. I preferred the sound of the metal out of the 3 here
I like DV, I would choose the metal because is smaller and I don't like big hard rubber mouthpieces in my mouth. But in the fact, the difference is very small.
I got mine recently, and it is so effortless to play. Really pops if you push it but can scale back as you showed.
I have an old rovner alto mouthpiece that has a similar opening. The rovner is even wilder - the opening goes back almost to the shank!
The metal has the edge if that's what you're looking for.As you demonstrated...thanks
I have the Jet and really like it.
Grazie mille!Dio vi benedica ,grazie per la professionalità!
I can tell the metal is your favorite. You really sound great on it. I agree with your analysis 100%.

Interesting!
Excellent work as always! On the backing track playing, I liked the HR* the most, other 2 seemed 'thinned out' in the higher register.
Thank you!
A++++ demo

Great video! I preferred the extra gear of the DV metal.
Great video , I wonder the difference with my DV-ny
You guys should do a video comparing all of Jody's hr pieces and then rank them by brightness
These videos exist from other channels I think
JodyJazz website has a brightness comparison chart
what neck strap are you using ??? and a great vid on DV HT Tenor

What sax is it you played on? P-mauriet?
Rhythm Changes
Another indispensable video.

Thanks for the thought - I tend to agree when it comes to the more poppy stuff

Agreed
Whats your ligature from your HR DV mouthpiece?
En donde puedo comprar una de esas.
£544 with gold "power" ring:(
No, and the price is ridiculous
Check the price of theo wanne mouthpieces and vintage meyers. While this is very expensive, it is less expensive than many of it's competitors
