Both relocated from their homes to Chicago, the birthplace of newspaper color comics, Layton Wu and Paul Cherry are no strangers to the heartbreak of long-distance relationships. They condense their deep emotions onto delightful melodies-like enticing comic strips-leading (or misleading) the listeners to come for the sweetness, and stay for the melancholy.

I don’t understand the 1st half of the music video anyone can explain to me?
It's a simple story about two roommates. One of them gets a dog, and the other roommate slowly becomes fond of the it over time. Then one day his roommate who got the dog moves out (probably to move in with his girlfriend in the second half of the MV). The other roommate begins to miss the dog (which matches the song lyrics), and ends up getting a shirt of the two of them as a way of moving on. That was my interpretation of it
