Yay!!!! I just stumbled across this video and channel. I was/am a subscriber to Adrian and Carole's Chateau de la Ferte channel and enjoyed watching them work on the chateau's restoration. I was very sad when they sold the building without having restored it. And, here we are with the universe providing! I am so happy that you have decided to also share your work on the chateau!
I love your perspective of basing your renovations upon the history of the living space. I can't wait to see what you discover about the Chateau! I am also interested to see how you take on the major projects, like the staircase foundation which Adrian was wise enough not to try and tackle himself. I am also very interested in what you do with/find out about the various outbuildings. Can't wait for the next episode!
This was lovely. I enjoy seeing all the different places and the beautiful sky. You’re both very busy. Enjoying the architecture, the history, the artist info. Very nice mix. Thank you for sharing.❤
An entertaining and interesting episode. I’m very interested in following your adventures at La Ferte , and enjoyed seeing some of your background lead-up to your move. Moving is always so chaotic, and it looks like this one had some extra moving parts and angst attached to it! However, now you are here and we are, too. Let’s make this chateau beautiful! ❤️🥂🇨🇦
So looking forward to the continued story of Château de la Ferté. I enjoyed your road trip from Paris I love seeing the rural areas of France. I miss driving around Europe from my travels in younger years.
Love your video, really great. I’ve watched everything Carole and Adrian posted over the years, and look forward to watching your journey. Congratulations and good luck with the adventure
I congratulate you on a quality video! Very interesting to see your past & where you’re going! Love the new old vehicle & challenge of the Arch de Triomphe roundabout, it’s scary! Wishing you both great happiness with life in the Chateau! John in Monmouth 🏴
❤❤❤episode 2 opening=crashing on the bed in exhaustion😅😅😅😅 Havent even seen you guys open the door to the Chateau!!! My father-in-law got stuck circling the L'Arc du Triumph for an hour in the early 1970s, good to see you guys made it. Enjoy the Explorer! Safe travels!
Can't wait. Was so disappointed when Carol and Adrian sold the chateau. Loved watching them doing the renovations. I would like to follow your journey but prefer vlogs where you speak directly to camera all the time and show you actually working on the restoration projects. None of my business of course. Just my personal preference. I have subscribed to numerous chateau vlog channels but find I only regularly watch the ones that do vlogs that way. eg. The Pethericks, Doing It for Ourselves, Bordeaux Life, Journey to the Chateau, Chateau diaries, and of course the lovely Dan reconstructing a burnt out shell from the ground up. Some that just mainly do voice overs I find too impersonal. I am looking forward to see you working on the chateau and hope that you consider carefully how you create your vlogs. I know they involve a lot of work and you have other work to think about as well. Take care on your wonderful new journey x
I remember standing on top of the Arc d'Triomphe watching traffic swirl below, wondering however one gathered nerve to venture into the frey. You were so brave!! Good luck with your adventure!
Was just thinking 'omg anything they think they have by buying and old car is going to go down the toilet in disastrous levels of petrol consumption" and then you made the comment on the cost of filling half a tank 😂😂😂 Next time you need an old practical car get a Toyota Verso.... Small but like a Tardis with 7 seats. I used my old one for delivering furniture and sort furnishings for a design practice and ferrying around dozens of small children. It could contain more goods than a huge Porche Cayenne (I once transferred a load of stuff to a wealthy clients Cayenne and he had to leave some things with me.....) Good luck you lovelies, it's going to be a wild ride ( although I did think of unsubscribing when I thought you had voted for la front nationale....but I'm hoping that was a joke). Lovely segment on your artists atelier. Good luck❤
Found your channel yesterday 11/3/2024 So yes I Subscribed ✔and Liked♥ and hit the notification bell🔔 . Sending a greetings from Eden,North Carolina usa🌻
We saw that upon the sale of La Ferté to you, all the curtains, furniture, chandeliers were taken down and out of the building. Very puzzled by this and wonder what you will do or even how you will decorate it. Given your background I expect that it will be very modern and zen.
I hope not... what is the point of having a chateau if you're going to strip its history and charm? I'm hopeful their version of "period correct" is different from the previous owners, and maybe they'll add some whimsy and a bit of quirk. The former decoration wasn't what I would have done anyway. Turning it into something modern would be a tragedy, and I wouldn't be able to watch :(
What is puzzling about not wanting someone else's furniture and soft furnishings? UA-cam comments never cease to entertain, filled with entitlement and options, and the odd bit os health and safety advice from clueless but well meaning people clutching their pearls.
As stated in this video, we'll be taking our cues from the context of the chateau itself. About the items - as we've commented before - they were not offered freely with the chateau. Except for a couple original features that stayed (like the salon chandelier), the rest was part of an inventory - sold separately. Our focus is on doing immediate and urgent repairs, so we had to be strategic regarding where to allocate our budget. Don't worry, we're not going to turn the chateau into a grey box 😇

You found La Ferte in a much better condition than Carole and Adrian found it. That’s a great start right there.
Looking forward to the restoration.
Yes I agree
Thank you so much for continuing with the Château de Laferte Saga. By now, it is an old friend. Thank you again.

Congratulations to you both on LA Feurte and Dora.
Seeing the Chateau thru new owners' eyes will be interesting! So glad you are sharing the experience with us.
What a delightful introduction. New subscriber along for the journey.
I felt that so much, after moving many times.. waking up in the Salon on a mattress on the floor.
This was lovely. I enjoy seeing all the different places and the beautiful sky. You’re both very busy. Enjoying the architecture, the history, the artist info. Very nice mix. Thank you for sharing.❤
Thanks for your kind comment - we love the history of places and will be sure to share more of that in future videos.

Wow Lake Baikal! We've read a lot about it, thank you so much for your lovely comment.
Reni how can we find your music?

Sorry but te two lots of cc is so off putting.
I've subscribed as the signs are that this will be not another chateau restoration by a clueless and/or grifting English couple!

I followed the previous owners. They only took what this couple did not want.
