"Monkey Man" is actually a 1969 song by the ska and reggae group the Toots & the Maytals, written by Fredrick "Toots" Hibbert
Well the enthusiasm is great. I would have gone from the concert happy after this performance. I love The specials version very much, thats why i'm here. Toots original is also great but i heard it first with Specials.
Wearing something like kimono, dancing, up beat.. still tight and stable, the harmonize as well.. this so-japan-monkey man-version..

I saw the Specials in law school with the cool kids, 1991 reunion tour. And Gang of Four too. Saw Toots years later 2000 in Boston.

Oh, you mean the bass drum getting picked up in the mix. There is not one camera with a built in mic filming this. This is professional, the crew knew what they were doing. Another hint, don't listen to this over a laptop or iPad, plug it into a real stereo and listen to it. A whole different sound!

Question. I've seen a few bands that wear yukata in concert. Is that just something with more kind of poppy bands or do a lot of Japanese bands do that? As every, Oreskaband is super on point. Love their energy and enthusiasm. And such tight arrangements.

Their live schedule is on their website! They most often play in Tokyo and Osaka but at the start of the month they did Kobe and last month Okinawa so you never know :)
