Sargon definitely pioneered it. But this only proves further, that you can convince a lot of people of anything as long as you use smart words and do it with a vaguely British, posh accent.
I did watch Sargon back in the day, back in the dark times. But I have moved on and rather watch Vaush, hbomberguy, Jay Exci. Sargon had, in my opinion, gone off the rails; didn't read articles properly, and misrepresented arguments, and this was way before he got banned too.
But I don't know if he had better argument in the past before he was famous and does things to keep his audience happy (example the anti-vaxx person who only wanted to sell his own vaccine, became anti-vaxx publicly only for capital gains). For example how he once criticised a PBS host for saying that femininity is for everyone and egalitarianism is for men. Another idea he had was that everyone should have the right to take out something like 4000 £, which will then be paid off by income tax. Which isn't a bad idea if handled properly; such as paying for education, or starting a business, since this will help the economy in the long run. But I think his channel has been deleted, and I don't care about him anyway.

I never knew Vaush was on the spectrum. It makes me respect him all the more as someone with ADHD who is also an extreme introvert and was confused with being potentially Autistic by my school, only to be diagnosed with ADHD as a result. Us neurologically divergent folks are treated like we're "slow" our whole lives, so it really makes my day to see how Vaush has managed to carve out a great career just by using his brain. That insecurity is hard to overcome for most.
