@@leoscar311ful It's not that he "never tells" the problem with him answering that, is every person is different. i have gold vermeil and it has lasted up to 3 years total so far and still going. i have a gold filled (think hundreds of dollars) and they most likely last a life time, but it still depends. i do well with plated actually, for some reason, it usually takes years and years, but i also care for my pieces. everyone is different, worse case scenario that chain will last you about a year, but there are people who will have it scratched up and plating going off in a few months. I would put that chain at about a year for average for most.
I guessed right! 😄The stainless steel is easy to spot, while the vermeil and 14k look more similar -- this 14k looks better constructed but still close. The "shadowing" is the tell-tell sign on anything plated/coated.
What do you mean by shadowing?
@@Rico4801 It's hard to describe, but the shadowing (at least to my eye) is slightly darker areas on the chain. When you look at them side by side, look for the evenness/unevenness of the color. It could be the style or roundness of the chain affecting this, but I've seen the same difference in other videos as well. Pause it at 0:54

The silver that has vermeil on it look more closer in color of the solid gold which i would buy before the stainless steel one. Eddie is destroying the game right now. UPDATE: I bought the sterling silver version last week. The gold wore off the clasp in 4 days. The button on the clasp is now solid silver and sticks out like a sore thumb.
Get it re dip in a thicker coating and it will look brand new like the first day u brought it real talk bro

Don’t forget to mention that the “solid gold” chain is not SOLID. It’s SEMI hollow. A solid chain like that goes for $2500-3000 minimum

What I don't understand is that you have several different 'vermeil' Miami Cubans on your website. I get there are a couple different ones with lobster clasp and some with box lock but the links look different and tighter on some more than others. Is it just how they are made is different and quality since the prices vary?

Last time I check moissanite pass any diamond tester on the market therefore that isn't junk as well. They sell solid gold and if im not mistaken that is also a precious metal which is more value then silver which isn't junk. All jewelry that has a layer on it eventually loses the layer, if you wear it every day and clean it regularly it'll probably last one year before small signs of discoloring, could be as early as months tho.. The clasp is the part where the layer is the thinnest so it'll probably start there. Then you need to have a jeweler redo the layer it's not that expensive
Gold layer is called gold plating, you can also put a thick gold plating on jewelry where it'll last for many many years, but jewelry sold on the internet never has that cause such a thick plating is expensive. If you don't want to have to redo the plating every so often you might just want to have a jeweler do that one thick plating right away
