Hi from Australia. I found your channel after buying my 2020 XV - S model (crosstrek in the US) last year and wanted to find out more about the reality of what these vehicles can do in real world situations. It's been fantastic to see the progress you have made, the upgrades to the car and support you have gotten so far. I also just realised you have insta too so followed that as well. Stay safe on your travels and thanks for the vids.
Thank you so much for these kind and encouraging words. I love reading comments like this one :) I'm glad I could help you make your mind up about these cars. I really like my Crosstrek, and hearing about others around the world also getting into the Crosstrek platform has been really cool for me, as has getting to talk with people from all over the world. Good luck with the new car, and I hope you like it as much as I like mine :)
Awesome video, I am glad you stayed safe and had a good time. I am leaving Thursday Morning to see my family in WV, I normally fly but I want to take my Crosstrek on a road trip. I will be doing a week long camping trip with family and friends on the Hatfield and McCoy trails threw out WV, I love all of your videos and keep up the great work.
We're going camping/off roading the weekend of the 24th at Flagpole Knob, VA. Bit of a drive for you still but maybe not. Lemme know if you're interested. Love the Labs. I got a black lab mutt myself.
Im in GA so welcome to the state lol. I used to have a white lab growing up. she was such a sweetheart. passed away in 2010 while i was in iraq unfortunatly but she was 14 so bound to happen. so you and wade in car during Hurricane like storm welp tim to go back to oregan lol.
Yeah, pups never stay around as long as we'd like them to, but it's good you got 14yrs with her. Haha! Yeah, that was pretty wild, but it's gonna need to do more than that to scare me off, haha!
Good luck on fixing the S-Beast. I noticed your car was featured on RalliTek for a complete suspension upgrade. How do you like it? the reason I ask is, I just had my 2019 Crosstreck lifted and had Bilstein struts and Eibach springs installed. I am still using the original rims and had Falcon wild peak AT trail tires installed. I am kind of torn on whether to upgrade my wheels and tires or not. It seems to ride just fine the way it is. I drive more paved roads than dirt. Any insight into this would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks, I appreciate that. Yeah, I got the 2" top hat spacers, 1" front lift springs, 1" rear overload lift springs, trailing arms, and rear lower control arms all from RalliTek, and Bilstein B6 struts as well. I don't know much about Eibach springs other than I hear good things about them. As for wheels and tires, your setup is just fine for everything you will probably encounter. I prefer a 15" rim, and a tire with a decent knobby side wall, but I'm also taking it off road, nearly as much as I'm on road. So yeah, I'd say you got a hood setup for what your into. If you end up doing more off roading in the future, then would be a good time to consider the upgrade.
Just bought a 2021 cross trek… limited? (Leather- not the sport “pleather”) AND it’s impressive where it’ll go stock. I’m looking forward to upgrading the tires to all terrains. I enjoy most of your videos, but, when I see a UA-cam video that’s just 2 seconds past 10 minutes… it can’t help but think “this guy posted juuuuust enough to maximize his ad revenue,,,” not “Its 9 minutes or 12 minutes because that’s how long it took to tell the story.” In fact, I make it a point to watch 9 minute 30 second videos. Lol. 😂👍
That "Pleather" is actually awesome, especially if you have a dog(s). Muddy prints just wipe off, it's pretty cool. Yeah these cars are pretty capable, and I like mine a lot :) as far as the timing, I just make videos, they end up with as much time as they are, lol. Plus, it's only 8min now to add mid roll ads now, and lastly, I don't use ads in the middle of my videos, so there's that to :p I'm not doing this for the money, I just like the little bit of supplemental income it gives. But honestly it's less than $200 a month. I don't make much, but again, not why I do this. Not trying to argue the point, just saying :)
@@TheAdventureZombie - Your comment made me think of my cross-country trip while towing a trailer. Out west, where the speed limit it 75 mph, I had a couple of tanks that averaged just 16 mpg, which goes REALLY fast with just a 13-gallon tank. Did you find out why your economy was so low? Wheel alignment? More stuff on the exterior than usual? Take Care!
do you think its possible to put a front bumper/side fenders from a 2013 crosstrek XV with the black "flares" and black side skirts onto a 2013 impreza hatch ?
I bet you could you might have to drill bolt holes in the fenders as for the bumper I'm not sure how the headlights would fit or if the crosstrek headlights would plug and play but I bet it could be done
Have fun and be safe.
Thank you!

I love labs, great vid stay safe friend.
Thank you, and me too. That's why I had to mention them :)
Who knew that hummingbirds still fly and feed in the rain? I was surprised.
Me too! Takes a lot to keep those little engines going, lol
Love it!
The trip back should be more epic :)

I am only 2hr south of Lynchburg, been there many times for the Jack Daniels distillery and kayaking trips in kelso.
Awesome! Yeah, I really like the Lynchburg area. Really pretty and a big change from the PNW :)
We need to trek before you head out! 😎😎
Absolutely :)

Thanks for the invite man. Probably not in this trip, but maybe in the future we can get together and do a collaboration :)

@@TheAdventureZombie No worries man, I just see soooo many videos that are 10:01 it drives me kinda nutty. Lol. I say make what you can and enjoy.
I need to bend your ear about building my Crosstrek.
What was wrong with the gas mileage?
I was getting like 15mpg 2/3 of the way across the country, lol. Sucks with only a 16gal tank lol

@@StealthGTI I accounted it to either bad gas or added wind resistance possibly. Hard to say.
